1. Operated Machines Knitting Markers Scissors

Operated Machines Knitting Markers Scissors

It's easy to marry. The Yarn Ball Winder is a small and light weight. Plastic and alloy are 22 cm and 3.3 cm. EASE OF USE: The metal table top clamp is easy to install on a desk or bench. Attach it to any table edge or surface up to 0-1.5" thick, twist on the spindle, position the guide arm and start winding! These nifty gadgets don't require much to assemble. Keeps yarn taut, so it can be turned into balls. You can easily winds up to 100 grams or 3.5 ounces of yarn, from lace and fingering weights to worsted and bulky weights. When you shake the machine, it will make low noise. A great gift for friends and parents, as well as for kids and adults.

Brand: Ayasee

👤It was easy to use. It's worth it. There is a knob that tightens and loosens the clamp in this one. You can put something on the bottom to make it stay. The instructions were not helpful. I just watched a video to find help. It does not wind thick yarn like bernat blanket, but it does wind bernat. The cake is small but big enough for my needs and it winds more to a cake than a ball. I think you have to use it to know how much yarn you will get. Even though it was late, I am glad I bought it. This will help organize yarn. The plastic yarn needles and markers that came with it were better than the ones I have bought.

👤There are a lot of adjustments that need to be made while you use the yarn winder. The instructions say that the yarn holder should lock into place. The product was thrown in a broken box. The product has scratches and is dirty. I paid for a new product, not a used one. The seller quickly responded to my message. They gave me a partial refund because of the situation.

👤The metal yarn guide is collapsible and it falls over when I'm trying to wind. When it falls, it throws the yarn into the gears. I don't understand why it's loose, as it doesn't become more compact. I'm going to try to rig it so that the guide is held firm, but I'm wondering if I'd have to do that if I'd spent more money on a winder.

👤At first, this seemed like a great idea. I spend more time unraveling the yarn ball because of issues. The feeder loop always collapses when I use it, because the table clamp can never hold enough to stay in place. The yarn is tangles around the base. It was poor constructed and cheap. If you want a yarn baller that is better made, buy a different one.

👤It's easy to set up and use; empty TP / paper towel roll fits well on the spindle. The yarn it makes is called TINY. This is ok for hand-work on the go, but you will need a bigger jumbo one for machine knitting.

👤This product helps in giving you a neater look to your yarn collection, as you have been stuck with loose Skeins of Yarns. The gears begin to slip when the spool is full. This is the time to start another ball. This machine makes it easier to do it manually.

👤You are better off winding your yarn by hand. Most of the yarn ends up in the middle of the ball because the arm holding it won't lock. I will probably return it.

👤It took a few minutes to set up the guide. It works well and saves hours winding fine yarn. yarn isn't stretched and tension is good.

👤I bought this to convert balls of yarn to cakes to make it easier to make an intarsia pattern. The Ball winder suddenly started slipping on its gears and not moving despite hand winding the yarn. It looks cheap. I apologize for wasting my money.

👤I am here to convince you to buy this set if you are considering it. I have been knitting for a while and have been doing hand-winding. It was the most frustrating part of the knitting process. This set has made the winding process quicker and easier, and it has also motivated me to wind all of the hanks I've been accumulating. Winding yarn is fun. I didn't know how organized cakes would be in my knitting collection. Marie Kondo would say that seeing my stuff now sparks joy. It is easy to knit with. I know how easy it will be to re-wind the cakes if they start unraveling. I was worried that the tools in the set would be sub-par and potentially damage my knitting equipment, since I mostly use merino wool, Addi needles, glass stitch markers, etc, and I paid $38 for the set. I didn't want to invest in a pricey model since I wasn't sure I needed a swift/winder. These work well. The first time I used the swift, the yarn was caught on the metal rungs. I lowered the swift closer to the table so that the yarn would feed straight into the winder, because I realized that the height of the swift can be adjusted. The metal spoke of the swift is below the plane of the table top in the last picture. I adjusted the height to make it work. There is a It's also brilliant as far as the winder goes. The max capacity is 100g of yarn, and it winds that amount perfectly if the yarn is taught and the tension is consistent. The proper amount of tension occurs when I use the swift. I had to control the yarn feed with my hand when I was re-winding skeins into the cakes. The yarn in my pictures is actually 130g, and the winder handled it like a champ. I didn't realize how big the cake was until I looked at the yarn label. I was impressed. I highly recommend buying this set if you are considering it. It will make your knitting life better. It is a great deal. It's a small price to pay for knitting bliss.

👤I didn't know what to expect from this combination. I decided to go with a cheaper option because I was interested in a more expensive one. Never again. The swift didn't stay extended. The umbrella ribs fall off the housing. The yarn was too small for my 4oz skein, and the winder was not terrible, but it had a tendency to jump off the bobbin. After spending 20 minutes trying to wind one skein, I gave in and ordered the name brand and a swift. One skein of that and my decision is made, which is much easier and better than this one. If you're looking for a cheap option, this will probably work, but if you're winding quality yarn, you should spend more.

👤I cannot use yarn that comes in hanks unless I rewind them, and I have been purchasing yarn that comes in hanks. I learned my lesson when I spent hours trying to untangle it after trying it by hand. I love that this set can be stored easily and it works quickly. It's gratifying to hear that and see the hank turn into a nice ball. I've used both of the things, and both have worked well. I waited so long to buy one that it would be a complaint.

3. Buwico Winder Manual Spinner Weaving

Buwico Winder Manual Spinner Weaving

100% satisfaction from the factory. It can be used on the top of the coffee table. The thin wire can be twisted into a ball, which is very convenient for winding scarf. The machine is made of high quality plastic. It is fast and efficient, and it can wind wool, lace and rope. It can be installed on the corner or edge of the table.

Brand: Buwico

👤The yarn guide was falling. You need to hold it in place. A piece of plastic is badly damaged.

👤I have to stop winding the yarn to put it back because of the metal part that guides it. I've used other ball winders that have made tighter balls, but this one seems to make loose ones no matter how the yarn is fed to it. The yarn becomes a mess when you start to crochet or knit. It helps a bit, but not completely. I'll fiddle with it to see what works for me.

👤It was hard to understand the instructions. The arm doesn't stay in place. The yarn ball is very loose when crocheting.

👤I liked everything about it. The can't wind yarn pass edge is one thing that could make the base wider. Instead of one cake of yarn, there are more than one. It's better to do it by hand. The yarn guide is locked in place.

👤It works very well. Thank you.

👤Not strong at all. I'm thinking about throwing it away.

4. She Lin US Operated Capacity 10 Ounce

She Lin US Operated Capacity 10 Ounce

It can be installed on the corner or edge of the table. Heavy duty construction, cast iron painted body, Yarn Winder: Metal Construction. The nylon material is less noise than metal. The jumbo metal yarn ball winder is easy to assemble. The edges of the machine are smooth, it won't leave a scratch on the table. The Yarn swift makes 10 ounce center-pull yarn balls, which is 2.5 times the size of their smaller winder. The size of the balls is 4016 cm/15.76.2inch.

Brand: She-lin Us

👤I received my yarn winder today. The cone was damaged when opened up. I went ahead and tested it. I'm not crazy about it. I think the yarn is too tight. The yarn guide is difficult to tighten and I have to keep moving it. Good luck if you need to send it back. It has to be shipped to Canada at your expense, even if it's not perfect. If the company works with me to get a new cone that isn't damaged, I'll update. If I had to do it again, I would get a different style of Stanwood. I worked with the company to get a replacement. I am not willing to pay return shipping to Canada so they sent it to me. I received the second one and it had some damage to the cone. The plastic piece that the cone is attached to has some weird color changes. It's not an issue for operation but it doesn't look great. I used a cake to make it work. It's difficult to get used to the way it works. I think there are more cakes. I will be good to go. I still think it's too tight. I have a cake next to me that has a little bit of a crunch but the one I wound with has very little. I don't think I'll be winding natural fibers for that reason. I don't want to stretch the yarn. A type of yarn. I'll use this when I need to wind a lot. I'll use my old one if necessary. This isn't the yarn winder I had hoped for. I'll be saving up to get a different style. I will work with this and my old one until then. I'll probably find a friend to give the extra winder to. I don't need two. I don't recommend this product for many reasons.

👤This was worth every penny. I wish I'd known about this product a long time ago. There have been many hours spent rolling yarn. Worsted weight and sport yarn can be worked on by this gizmo. The largest skein I've rolled is 12 ounces. I would be surprised if it could handle 14-16 ounces. My niece likes to help me crochet by rolling the yarn.

👤After making a few small rugs, it starts to jam up. Don't buy from this person.

👤Great machine for spinning yarn. It moves quickly. It is made of metal. You get perfect cakes with each wind because it is strong. Highly recommended.

👤I love mine. It's better than a plastic one.

👤The cheaper model went back immediately, but the much more sturdy piece of kit went back immediately. This one does what it says it will do. It takes a bit of getting to know how to get the best result from it, but was soon happily winding every ball of wool in my stash into neat cakes that pull from the centre. It easily winds 100 grams of chunky with room to spare. An excellent purchase.

5. Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder

Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder

It's easy to wind up to 100 grams or 3.5 ounces of yarn, from lace and fingering weights to worsted and bulky weights. A yarn guide arm that folds makes for compact storage and allows quick and easy assembly. It's great for crafting. Knit Picks Yarn Swifts can be used to organize all wound yarn into usable cakes.

Brand: Knit Picks

👤I don't know why I waited so long to purchase this. I never imagined it would work so well. If you want to know how well it works, I will send out a message to the entire county that I live in, offering free yarn rolling services because it makes it fun and fascinating. The male family members in my life were so fascinated by how simple it was and how fast it worked that they all stood around watching. The guide arm needs to be moved and positioned opposite the winding handle to operate correctly. I didn't purchase a yarn swift because I didn't think it needed one. The instructions on the box were written in a way that made me worry that I needed one. I can promise that you don't. I used my left hand to guide the yarn to the floor and then turned the crank with my right hand to make sure it was wound correctly. I had a small box full of yarn that needed to be wound and organized and when I finished it the box was barely half full. I'm going to be more organized. I have created space for more yarn. You can never have enough yarn, right? My husband disagrees with that statement, but nobody asked him. It's a good thing. I can attest to the fact that you can wind skeins up to 100 grams or 3.5 ounces. I wound a skein that was 6 ounces and it did complete it to my satisfaction, however the crank felt heavy as I was nearing the end and I don't recommend going over the recommended amounts. If I had found a review equal to my, I would have made a decision sooner.

👤I'll lead with buy this. If you're going through a skein a year, don't bother, but more than that and the flaws are worth the benefit. I'm kicking myself for telling myself that this isn't mandatory for 10 years and not spending a lot of money for sanity. After spending every hour of my day winding my own balls of yarn, getting hand cramps, or using yarn straight from the skein, I just bit the bullet. I took out my big tote and made a day of it. The first picture shows a small portion of the cakes on cakes in my bin. The second week was a very cheap amigurumi yarn that defined hard to work with and you can see how the first two worked out. I never had to start over because I had to cut so many snarls out. The star knocked off something. There is a learning curve. I use masking tape on the lose end to make sure the top slots hold your yarn. I don't lose it. You will try to pull it tight and it will slip off and you will have a wobbly cake. It will seem like you won't, but you will get it quickly. Pull the yarn back through the cake until you hit a solid point and try again. It took a few tries to get the over down up thing. You're fine once you get it. The first five tries feel like a puzzle game, but it's one fluid motion. It really does squeak. It's very smooth for a while, then it starts to click a few times, like you're murdering it. I push in on the handle and wait for it to stop, it doesn't affect the yarn, and isn't often enough to not use it. I've tried many things, but nothing. I'm pretty sure they are possessed and it goes back to normal quickly. I thought I was breaking something. Hundreds later, still chugging. Pull this little guy out is the first thing I do when I get yarn.

👤I didn't know about this tool before. It's easy to make perfect balls of yarn when I don't feel like using my electric yarn baller or when I want to control the tension on more delicate yarn. The tool is comfortable to work with.

👤It's not easy to use. Buy a ball machine.

👤A good price. It's nice to have to wind up yarn in a nice ball. There are a lot of videos on the internet on how to wind.

👤I thought it would be easy to use. It's a very reasonable tool for travel and home winding. Did not stretch yarn.

👤I am having trouble using it. I am trying but it is not the same for me.

👤The finish is beautiful. A great tool to use. Fast shipping as well.

👤Sturdy and handy.

👤This is the best tool I have found. The balls are difficult to use and I have purchased 2 other tools of the same type. The yarn can easily be pulled from the center.

👤The finish is excellent. Would recommend.

👤I arrived on time and packed well, but the nostepinne is not for me.

👤I should have spent the money on a couple of cappuccinos because this item was very inexpensive. This item is hard to use. A paper towel roll does a better job.

👤This product is very nice. It's easier to get your wound ball off the handle if it's not tapered. The wood is very nice. I will enjoy this for a long time.

👤This is the best way to wind smaller amounts of yarn. I gave one as a birthday gift and she sent me a video on how to use it correctly, so I had to have one of my own!

Brand: Solidgnik

👤It was easy to assemble, works well and makes a lovely cake of yarn that can be pulled from the center. The only problem is that the pads that hold it to the table are too short. I need to hold the device in place to keep it from walking off the table edge. I probably am winding too enthusiastically, but still. I'm trying to figure out a way to attach it to a small piece of scrap plywood, but I'm still using it even if I don't succeed.

👤I have ever bought yarn and it was the best purchase I have ever made. helps organize my yarn. A tiny bit. It is worth the noise. Highly recommend.

👤I bought a yarn winder from a different seller that didn't last through the first skein of yarn. This one is strong. I was able to attach it to a thicker table top and make my first skein. There were no problems. Attach it to the table top with care. It arrived exactly as it was promised. I'm very happy with this machine.

👤I bought this for my granddaughter and she likes it. It is easy to use.

👤It was easy to set up on my table. Works well! No issues at all! I threw the cheaper one in the trash. Completely satisfied!

👤The yarn roller makes it easier to use and store my yarn. It works well. I am not having any issues with it. Love it...

👤This thing is amazing. It can wind a 190 yd skein of yarn in about 2 minutes. I don't have to worry about the position of the skein and it get caught in stuff because the yarn after using this doesn't get tangled. The yarn can be easily removed and I can knit faster.

Brand: Hind Handicrafts

👤Well... The winder looks great. The pieces were not put together in the box. It has several large pieces that I was able to place just by looking at photos, but I think many people will be turned off by the lack of information. The metal piece that secures it to the table was badly painted and the threads of the screw are no longer usable. It is a project to fix rather than being ready to use.

👤There is no way to collect. What is wound is not a ball.

👤I was very excited to get this. I decided to treat myself after having a lot of issues with plastic. The package had very little instructions. The one that stuck out the most was the one that left the belt on when not in use. When it arrived, it was already in place. It was time to wind the yarn. I have done both because it doesn't tell you if you should go clockwise or counterclockwise. The wheel with the handle is prone to wobbling, the part holding the yarn will stick, and the top where the slots are and the inside of the piece are rough. I'm starting to regret my purchase. I wish I had waited and not been so eager.

👤I really wanted to like this. I had been searching for a wooden yarn winder, however it was not stable. When trying to wind yarn, the pieces came apart easily. I tried different types of yarn, different sizes and different colors in hopes that it was just the yarn. It wasn't. All of my cakes were not perfect. It wasn't working for me. I had to return it. I don't think there is a way to get this to work correctly.

👤I tried to use this item after buying it in the fall. It looks great! There is a It is an epic fail for ball winding. The only thing that holds it stable is the single clamp. I slid off the table before finishing a small ball after using a non-skid shelf liner under it. You don't get a nice cake of yarn, just a weird ball, because the yarn guide and the spindle aren't aligned correctly. So looks 3 stars and works 0 stars. I would like my money back.

👤The metal parts look like they were poorly coated and are peeling off. I had to glue it back together after it was broken. It would not go together without some metal parts being sanded. It still doesn't work after I got it all together. I've watched dozens of videos and tried adjusting it, but it doesn't work as it should. Very disappointed.

👤The product did not work initially and it was difficult to turn to the wind yarn. The replacement was very good, wood grain polished and the wheel was free flowing, very pleased with it. I would recommend a product to replace the plastic inexpensive winders.

👤The wonder stopped turning after winding half of the hank. I was waiting for this for a long time and I am very disappointed.

9. YaeTek Hand Operated Yarn Ball Winder

YaeTek Hand Operated Yarn Ball Winder

Buy with a 30 day money back guarantee. The Yarn Winder has a desk that can be adjusted to suit a table thickness up to 50mm. The metal crank is not broken. The wool ball winder is stable and quieter than other discontinued ball winders.

Brand: Yaetek

👤I had been shopping for a baller for a long time before buying it. It's very easy to use. It sounds like a stock soundbite for movies when they want to make a statement about something mechanical. If you put some suspense music on while you're winding up some cakes and you're ready to bust that oil rig case wide open, you'll feel like you're the villain in your own action adventure. If you don't control the tention, you'll end up with a cake that's all loose and aweful. I use it to shrink 1lb skains.

👤How did I not use this product? I have spent $20 on crochet. It's easy to assemble and use. Make sure to give the yarn a bit of tension to make sure your cake is tight and secure. Don't hesitate to buy. You will not regret it.

👤This works if you are looking for an economical way to make cakes. This works if you're looking for a way to make small cakes for traveling or to do more than one project. This makes a cake that is half the size you would buy in a store. Look at my picture. It's taken with a standard size crochet hook. As you are winding the yarn, you have to hold a steady downward tension. You can't go fast and the yarn won't come straight through the guide. You will end up with a mess. Slow and steady, with the yarn being pulled upward. The yarn should be on the floor. Not too tense or lose of tension. You have to practice with this and have to figure it out a few times. It's economical, but not perfect.

👤I'm very happy with this machine. I've had it for a couple of months now and have wound all my yarn into balls. All the pull skeins were wound by me. I have all my yarn where I can see exactly what I have and how much of it I have, it makes it so much easier to store. It holds a lot of yarn and I have no problems with it.

👤The moment I got it, I put this to work. The yarn guide needs to be in front for it to work correctly. I experienced a small hiccup in my excitement to use it. I only have two hands, so I had some balls that were not as compact as I wanted. I re-did it more after I got it caked and they were good. Is this one more expensive than others? It works better than the cheap ones.

👤The yarn ball-winder was a great deal. It works well with the inexpensive swift I found on Amazon. The cakes were created from my 200 yd/100gr worsted-weight skeins. It was well-packaged and arrived quickly. Highly recommend this brand and seller!

👤It's worth it to wind a regular skein into a pull ball. I've spent a lot of time trying to untangle an unruly mess, this resolves the problem for me. I'm not a patient person, but I find that if I dive into a project without winding it first, I end up spending a lot less time trying to untangle it later. It seems like some yarns are more prone to a mess than others, it's helpful in these situations.

10. Yarn Valet 57104 Winder Green

Yarn Valet 57104 Winder Green

The wooden yarn swift will stand the test of time because of its smooth finish and solid rope. A lightweight tool is used to pull yarn balls. Inside the compartment there are crochet hooks, stitch markers, a pen or even small scissors. You can organize the mess into balls or bags to fix the skein that has fallen apart. Measures approximately 2” length, 10” height, and 2” width.

Brand: Yarn Valet

👤I should have paid more attention to it. A plastic tube is what it is. You can use a used up toilet paper roll to do the same thing.

👤I think they could come up with a better design if they went back to the drawing board. The only way to get it is to go to the website and watch a video. I tried to keep my hooks in the base, but the cap kept coming off and dumping them in my lap. This is a great idea, but lacks follow through.

👤A very nice product. I can't make a center feed ball by hand because I have wound yarn in my hand. This machine worked wonders. I made a center feed ball from the skein I was using. Skeins collapse when a lot of yarn is used. This fixes the problem. Thanks for a useful and easy product that does what it says it will do. I took a break without losing what I'd already hurt. I can recommend this product.

👤One of the many chores that homemakers were expected to take care of was making threads and yarns on a distaff. Where was this when I started knitting and crocheting? It is now easy to Winding balls of yarn.

👤I didn't find it useful. The yarn wouldn't catch in the slots at the tip, and I've tried several different weight yarns. If you are using Tunisia to make an Afghan, the valet isn't long enough to fit all your crochet hooks or knitting needles. I couldn't justify the price. It isn't a practical valet. I would give it an extra star if it was a bit longer, wider and the notch on the end actually held the starting yarn in place. It feels like a child is learning how to crochet or knit. I like the idea but the execution is not good.

👤I had never seen a yarn ball winder like this before, but it looked like it would work well. When I tried to wind the yarn into a ball, it was so tangled that I couldn't. I put the yarn on the swift and turned it over. The yarn valet was able to get in and out of the yarn. My niece loved untangling the yarn. She was taken for 30 minutes. I would recommend this to everyone. The first hank of yarn came from different yarn companies. I get tangled when dyeing yarn. I think I'll get a lot of use from the yarn valet.

👤The bottom comes off when I lose my grip on the yarn. I end up with a ball of yarn after the yarn tension loosens. I went back to making the yarn by hand. I can put it in a yarn bowl and it will work. It's ugly.

👤I watched the video on the website when I received the yarn ball. It was very easy. The first ball I made was a round ball and I quickly learned how to make the cake shape and bowl shape with the yarn bowl. Some people said the end cap would fall off, but mine does not. I don't have anything I want to keep in it. I like this product. It made quick work of 13 balls.

11. Wooden Umbrella Winder Replacement Holder

Wooden Umbrella Winder Replacement Holder

The best gift is when you shake the machine. A great gift for friends and parents, as well as for kids and adults. The yarn winder has an extra screw. You can choose an alternative if the screw is installed on the swifter itself. The easy to use, sturdy, adjustable clamp of swift yarn winder can be fixed on the edge of a table, chair, or bench. Attached with instructions. The umbrella swift has a smooth and squeak free rotation, which makes it easier to put your supplies in balls. It's easy to store. The wooden swift is perfect for storage, not to take up a lot of space. The wooden yarn swift will stand the test of time because of its smooth finish and solid rope.

Brand: Yarniss

👤It worked well for a while. This is the same problem that I had on the first one. I don't tighten it very tight, but enough to where it won't fall. It doesn't stay on the surface. I have a yarn tangled mess after it fell to the floor. If you can figure out how to secure on a surface, it's good for the price.

👤The first swift I received had an issue, but I received excellent customer service and am very happy with the new one. I recommend it highly because it works perfectly. If you have any issues, do not hesitate to contact Yarniss because they will work to resolve them and produce a superior product. All companies should operate in this way.

👤The swifter is nice. I decided to use the wooden one since I have never used a metal one. This is a fast one. It has an extra knob. It was attached to the edge of my table in a matter of seconds. I might use rubber shelving sheets to keep it more secure when I wind my yarn. It works great, but it does wobble a bit, but not to the point of coming off the table. If you have a bit of rubber shelving material, I would suggest you cut a couple of small patches to secure the device.

👤I have not yet put a skein of unwound yarn on this, but I am figuring out how to use it, since I don't plan to use that particular yarn. The criss-crosses push outward to adjust to whatever width you need to accommodate your skein and there is a stopper that screws into the bottom sliding thingy that keeps it in place. The table is at the bottom. It's really bad. It has a screw, but it's so stiff and snug that it takes a lot of strength to work it. Being raw unfinished wood leads to a dusting of sawdust everywhere and although the upper parts seem to move freely/smoothly, the table clamp screw piece does not seem to want to bind up. I think a metal or plastic screw would have been better. If your table has a lip that isn't fully flush/square/flat, you may have trouble getting it to fit adequately. I bought a wood swift because the plastic ones were pretty ugly, but I think I'll curse a lot when I use it because of the hassle of setting it up. It's a pity.

👤I was happy to have the extra screw because the yarn swift arrived promptly. It was easy to store, it was fully assembled out of the box. The table edge has a Sturdy and Telescoping Clamp. Making cakes from handkerchiefs in less time is superior craftsmanship. It works well. The quality and service made it a highly recommend. I recommend them because of the amazing customer service.

👤The base and pole are made of wood. The slats that hold the yarn are flimsy and held together with yarn and a rivet. The first time I used it, the arm split like a twig after they drilled the hole. If they are going to use wood for the slats, they need to be really hard wood. It would be a really nice product if the slats were made of metal. I am adding a star to the review for the customer service. I was impressed that the company contacted me immediately after my review and sent me a coupon for another quick fix, even though I still think the slats need to be more durable.
