👤The box that the product was packaged in was large enough to protect the con- tents. I mention the quality of the packaging because it is a first impression that says "we cared enough about what's inside to spend a bit more on sturdy packaging." A first impression. The AC2100 is a good one. I always read through the setup instructions. I encourage others to do the same. You should be prepared for what is required before you get to them. The technical support contact information was included in a separate card from the instruction guide. I did not need to contact tech support because the installation was so easy, so I can't comment on the response or value of the technical support team. I might cover that in a future review. The previous model extender I have been using is the AC1200. The size may surprise those of you who have used other extenders from other vendors. The AC2100 has a modern look that is appealing to me. I think it's a high-tech look that meshes with my home decor. I don't think this attribute will be an issue for anyone hoping to extend their network, but I think it's worth mentioning. The extender has improved my network's reach considerably. That is larger size for me. I read through the set up documentation before attempting to install or configuration. A habit was gained from experience. I followed the instructions and was able to extend my wireless network. My network names were the only ones seen, because the AC2100's app extended the existing network without forcing a new name. For those of you who have extended your networks before, 2 for the 2.4 and 2 for the 5 can be understood. I decided to do my evaluation by comparing the AC2100 to the AC1200, which has supported the downstairs portion, because I have purchased and deployed other rock space products. I will refer to the previous model as the AC1200 and the current model as the AC2100. There is a The previous model extended my base network very well, but I was never able to get complete coverage in the backyard portion of the house. I was able to get a healthy signal all the way to the far end of the backyard in testing the current model in the same location as the previous model. I have a modem located in the front of the house as well as upstairs. There were no changes made to the location or configuration of the router. The devices included in my testing are PC laptops, Mac laptops, Chrome- books, Android and Apple tables, as well as Apple phones. The reason so many devices were tested is because we use each device type named, and because each device manufacturer will implement their wireless support using different chipsets which often manifest in different results in any given network. The signal for my iPad is less than the signal for my Android device in the living room area. It took several weeks for the AC2100 to be deployed. It has taken the place of the AC1200 that I have had in place for over a year and it is out-performing with regard to both the signal's reach and speed. For the first time in my life, I can get a reliable connection no matter what device I use. There is a If you want to purchase a network extender that is in the sub $100 price range, and one that is easy to set up, then you should look at it. You should check it out.

Setting up via browser website based device is possible. Netfun wireless network extender can be used to extend the range of your home wireless network and keep all your mobile devices connected without having to worry about security protocols.
👤I bought an extender from Net Fun about 3 months ago and was very pleased with the performance of it. Needed something which would give a strong signal on three floors to be able to purchase this new model for our other house. The new extender was very easy to install and it was the best we have tried. The signal is stable and strong when it is 3000 ft away from the router. We have been unable to stream shows in our basement TV room. Our phones and tablets work perfectly. I would recommend this model to anyone.
👤There was a warning when I opened the package that the device should not be used in a storm. I wonder why there was not some kind of protection built into the unit, if I were not home when the storm started, my phone wouldn't see this unit. I plugged the unit into an outlet that is 4' above the floor and stood near it, but it still did not see the network. I thought I would contact the manufacturer because there is a notice in the manual that says if you have any questions, contact us. I decided to return it. I have changed my rating to four stars because of the excellent customer support provided by a member of their support team. The representative replaced the unit with a different model and made sure that I got my money back.
👤We moved into our home about 8 months ago and we have had a terrible internet connection with all of our devices. The second floor of our home is the same as the first floor because it was built in 1921. All bedrooms and bathroom have original wood doors. The entire house has plaster walls. I couldn't get a good internet connection in the room next to where our internet is located, upstairs or outside. My main problem was that I couldn't connect my doorbell camera to my indoor camera because of the weather. After a couple of months of debating, I finally decided to purchase a range extender. I can't believe how much the device makes a difference. It was easy to set up. It was plugged in by my back door, which is 40 feet away from the front of the house, and we have an amazing internet connection in every part of our home. I get a good internet connection all the way to the back fence in my backyard. I lost my internet connection as soon as I got out of the back door. I need to get yard work done when my son is napping. I was constantly checking on him. This has given me peace of mind because I can go anywhere in my home and watch my son and also see who is outside my front door with my ring doorbell camera. Don't pay the big bucks for other devices. This is a must have for a mom and someone who is very calculated with spending and bills. My home is 1,470 square feet and the outside yard is about the same. It covers the entire property.
WEP and WPA/WPA2 are wireless security protocols. The wireless coverage adds a range of up to 2,500 sq. ft., and connects up to 30 devices. You never get disconnected as you move around your home or office if you use your existing network name. The AX6000 is a dual-band wireless technology that provides up to 6Gbps of performance for heavy-duty 4K HD streaming and multi-player gaming. It works with any wireless or cable modem that has the internet. There are wired ethernet ports. Plug in game consoles, streaming players, or other wired devices into the four 1 Gigabit ports for maximum speed. WEP and WPA/WPA2 are wireless security protocols. The easiest way to set up is to use the Nighthawk app or press the WPS button. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location.
👤I bought the second one. Our internet service provider's router/WAP is located in a bedroom closet on the other side of the house. The signal on the internet is dying halfway across the house. The signal is almost gone. It worked great when I installed one of these to extend the network to my home office. The second one was installed to extend the network to the back of the house. I advise setting up the device using the Netgear Installation Assistant, where you connect to the device and then go step by step to connect to your existing network. You can download the Nighthawk app on your phone, and then continue with the setup. I prefer a direct connection to the network device. Ignore the device if it tells you there's a firmware update available. I bought my first EAX20 from Netgear. Went through the setup and everything was fine. At the end of the setup, it advertised a firmware update. The device updates, restarts and all is well should have happened. The device was updated and never woke up again. It was stuck in the boot. The factory reset didn't work. The advanced "baseline reset procedure" didn't work after 6+ hours on the phone with Netgear support. I had to return it for a refund. I bought one from Amazon and set it up and it worked perfectly. I bought that one. The second one had a different version of the software than the factory one. It's ironic that the manufacturer updates their own device. This is a great invention. It doesn't get warm because there's no fan. It works well. Don't change the thing.
👤It is an access point. You have the option to use the 2.4ghz ssid, security and password. The same options are given to you. There is no way to share ssid. Passwords and ids are required for the rax20 router. The rax20 is not an option for a guest network. I tried to set the ssid the same, but it said that the ssid already used. The initial setup wizard allowed me to set them the same, but the device was not accessible after that. I would have to factory reset it. It was done four times with the same results. I was unable to access the device until I set the ssid to different values. The Nigthhawk app and browser were both used. There is no option to extend the guest network as a extender. It is one or the other. There is no back haul over the internet. I was expecting to be able to hard wire the eax20 to the rax20 and extend the setting of the rax20. The same ssid, security and password should have been used for both networks. When I setup it as either an ap or an extender, I had to manually connect my device to the internet after I disconnected the wireless signal. The signal from the router dropped as I walked past. I was able to connect to the ap at 450Mbps. Returned and went back to the 1/3 price of Engenius ap that has more features.
Netfun wireless network extender can be used to extend the range of your home wireless network and keep all your mobile devices connected without having to worry about security protocols. The wireless coverage adds a range of up to 2300 square feet and connects up to 45 devices. You never get disconnected as you move around your home or office if you use your existing network name. The speed of the internet is AC2200. FastLane3 technology provides up to 2200 Mbps performance for heavy-duty 4K HD streaming and multi-player gaming. It works with any wireless or cable modem. There are wired ethernet ports. Plug in game consoles, streaming players, or other wired devices into the 2 Gigabit ports for maximum speed. WEP and WPA/WPA2 are wireless security protocols. Simple to set up. Press the button to connect. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location.
👤So far, not very good. It was easy to setup. My internet got worse. When a device connects it is fast but there is a significant lag and lots of hung connections where nothing happens. Before I buy something from a different vendor, I would like to check in with Netgear and make sure I have the correct setup. I registered the product on their site. I'm not eligible for tech support according to their site. I'll be returning the product and leaving you a bad review as you've got a big fail on your hands.
👤I was excited to get this and extend my network. It was useless. I own a new Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Router. I think this would be very easy to beat. I set it up. I went to the extender on my computer after reading the instructions. It showed a good connection. There were no hardware updates I checked for. The only problem was that it did not extend the signal. The speedtest in the room with the extender was not better than without it. The lights should have been lit properly. I searched for support numbers and chat but found nothing. I will return it tomorrow.
👤I had a problem connecting my 1900 Nighthawk to this. The problem was fixed after 6 hours on the phone. I thought I had a firewall, but it wasn't. The 2 were in conflict, but once a firewall was installed, it was no longer a problem. Make sure that you have a firewall.
👤I bought a NETGEAR Nighthawk R7000 in March of 2014, and it has been working well ever since. I had high hopes for the EX7700 because it worked better than the other ones I tried, and it had installation issues. The installation was easy using the Nighthawk app. I set it up as a mesh network, using the same password as my existing wireless network. I could see which devices were connected to which AP. The information about how the extender was communicating with the R7000 was revealed by connecting directly to the EX7700. All good. My wife asked if I had set up the extender. She was having issues with her devices. The performance on my PC should not have been related to the Internet connection since the PC is wired with Ethernet. The extender was unplugged. Everything got better after I rebooted the R7000. I thought maybe it's not the extender. I plugged the extender back in, and that's the next problem. The Ring Doorbell Pro needed a better connection to the internet. The RSSI increased when the doorbell connected to the extender, which is awesome. It didn't always want to connect to the extender, but I could verify by the doorbell's reported signal strength and the connection status in the Nighthawk app, but it would get there eventually. The doorbell was unable to communicate after the various unpluggings and rebootings. I could see it in the list of connected devices, but it was not reachable. After I unplugged the EX7700, it found the R7000 and started working again. I can't say for certain that the EX7700 is the cause of the degradation in internet performance, but it doesn't seem to be getting along with Ring, and it was a little shaky with other devices. This one is going back.
Press the button to connect. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location. There are dead zones and buoy. You can extend your home internet to hard-to-reach locations such as your backyard, garage, or bedroom so you can enjoy streaming 4K. Next-Gen AC with MU-MIMO ensures that your internet is delivered faster and more efficient. This means that your whole household can use the internet, play online games, and 800-273-3217, without buffering or lag. The AC1900+ Range Extender is a room-to-room range extender that can be used with a Max-Stream wireless network. When you move from one room to another, Seamless Roaming will automatically switch your wireless devices to the strongest signal, so you won't have to manually connect to the range or the routers. It means that you can move around in your home without having to worry about dropped calls or buffering. It works with all of the internet. The range extender is compatible with any internet service provider. There's no need to change your settings when installing the extender. Push button connect on the MAX-STREAM AC1900+ will automatically sync it to your router. Simple setup from a device. There is a band for reliable communication. You can connect a wired device to the AC1900's Gigabit Ethernet port to enjoy fast internet speeds up to 10 times faster than Fast Ethernet.
👤I burned around 20 minutes trying to follow the instructions, and gave up. I never could get the extender to work with the button. I was able to get my extender installed after reading some of the comments. This is how I installed my AC1900 Range Extender. Plug the extender to an outlet that is close to the modem/router so that it remembers your network and can be moved to the best range extending location later. You have to wait for the flashing light on the front to change color before you can use it. If you have an orange blinking light, you can connect to the Linksys Extender Setup signal by going to your wireless network settings and looking for it. After you connect your computer to the extender. The address bar has a hyperlink to http://extender.linksys.com. 6) You are in the extender setup application. Follow the instructions. The available networks will be found by the Linksys extender. You can join your network from the list of available networks you put in your password. The light on the front of the unit will turn green when the software tells you that the installation is complete. 7) You can move the extender around your house if you want. Plug the extender into a wall outlet and it will log onto your network. You're ready to log in. I love the extender once I'm up and running. The set up application worked well for me as well. If you try to follow the documentation, you will be disappointed. Installation of this extender is very easy once you understand what you have to do. The documentation is not as good as the hardware. I think that's being generous.
👤I have been using this extender for about two weeks and I am very happy with it. I am getting 4-5x faster speeds in my office than I am with a computer alone. It is important that you have a compatible router, but if this extender is able to take advantage of seamless roaming technology, this is the way to go! The front room of our home is 2000 square feet and has a wireless internet connection. Our home office is in the far corner of the house, which averages less than 10mbps, and the front room and surrounding bedrooms are anywhere from 50 to 100mbps. We had to move our laptops to another room for acceptable download speeds because the speed was fine for most day to day use. I bought an extender from another company, thinking it wouldn't be a problem, but having to choose different networks depending on where you are in the house is not ideal, especially with phones and tablets. The seamless roaming capability is cool. This technology has been around for businesses for a long time, but I am happy to see it in households. Widespread roaming allows you to switch between access points with the strongest signal. If you end up moving a lot, this feature will be useful because you don't have to worry about which network you are connected to. The negative aspect of most range extenders is that they force you to connect to the extender when you need a signal boost. It felt like a waste to buy a mesh network system when we just bought a high end one earlier in the year. I was skeptical of how well this extender would work, but I can move from room to room with my laptop and tablets, and my speeds are better than I had anticipated. I can get a full strength signal on both frequencies. If I were buying a new solution today, it would be difficult to overlook the benefits of a mesh network solution, but if you already have a good routers, you can take advantage of the seamless roaming this extender offers.
This booster uses brand-new software technology that is easy to set up. You can connect your device to the internet within 10 seconds. You can use a PC, laptop, or a phone to set it up. You can use the signal indicator to find the best location. The N300 WI-FI speed can provide up to 300 Mbps. It works with any wireless or cable modem. The system needs a 2.4 GHz wireless router or gateway. Microsoft internet explorer is one of the higher browsers. Plug in game consoles, streaming players, or other nearby wired devices using the one 10/100M port for maximum speed. Only for indoor use. It is safe and secure to use WEP and WPA. Press the button to connect. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location. The band is 2.4 GHz.
👤In December of last year, I received this. It was an easy install for anyone with experience setting up a routers. It worked as advertised. A lot of people reported drops, but I did not. I had a burning smell after 7 months of use in July of last year. The unit was starting to burn up and melt down as you can see in the picture. I have never had an issue with the wall outlet I have used for many things. The item was plugged in and never left the house. This could have caused my house to go up in flames.
👤Everyone, be careful with this one. When we went through the installation instructions, everything seemed to be going well until we saw a sign in the screen with your log in name and password. The problem starts here when trying to log in, the process becomes circular and won't connect even after several attempts. This is where it gets dicey. We contacted the on-line chat service and the service tech was able to help us. After I install a few different windows on my computer, and after I try to uninstall a Viruses, the tech says you have a Viruses and it will cost up to $600.00 to remove it, and I can't use my computer for the next few days. I had to question this after talking with the folks at BitDefender with their tech investigating my system, they told me they have received similar calls with unscrupulous "tech's" trying to sell you a service you really don't need. We never got the extender to work and it will be going back to Amazon as soon as my hot little hands can box it up, sometimes if the deal looks too good, you really need to question why.
👤My wireless has been extended. I have a man cave in my garage that is 100 feet away from my cable company's modem. The signal was weak but it was able to reach this, but it was slow and the connection was weak. The NETGEAR N300 was installed 50 feet away. I now have good internet access for my laptop. The initial setup is to plug the Range Extender into an outlet and put it close to the modem. You don't use an Ethernet cord to set this up. Wait for the green light on the extender. Push the WPS button and another light will blink. Push the button on the modem and watch it connect. I had to look for the button on the modem because it was not obvious. If the Extender is plugged in and the light on it is green, you can move it into an area that already has a signal, but it cannot "extend" what it cannot detect. The new network name will be your old network name with an -EXT at the end. If you use the password on your existing system, you are done.
👤There are some bad reviews of this product so I felt obliged to write a review. I've been in IT for 25 years, so I know my way around technology. If I could walk my mother-in-law through the setup over the phone, I base my ease of setup on that. If you have a WPS capable router, this product is simple to use. The button on the N300 is where you push the WPS button. This should be done in the same room to make sure a strong signal. Once you get the green light on the N300, you can move it to where you need to. My access point is on the second floor of the house. The hope is that the extender will improve the internet to the TV and the family room. I ran a speed test on my computer. It got 50mbs before the N300. The laptop had 100mbs and 24mbs. This is a good solution for the price and is more cost effective than the mesh network systems. I will be ordering a second N300 to put in the master bedroom. The speed isn't needed but the geek in me can't pass up a faster connection for the small cost of these extenders.
Press the button to connect. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location. The band is 2.4 GHz. It connects up to 35 devices, including laptops, phones, speakers, and more, and extends the range of the network to over 2000 sq ft. You never get disconnected as you move around your home or office if you use your existing network name. FastLane technology for demanding HD streaming and online gaming is provided by the AC1900 WIFI SPEED. It works with any wireless or cable modem. There are wired ethernet ports. Plug in game consoles, streaming players, or other wired devices into the ports for maximum speed. WEP and WPA/WPA2 are wireless security protocols.
👤There is an update on December 18, 2019. Updating the firmware from v.184.108.40.206 to v.220.127.116.11_1.0.148 was successful. Do not update to the latest firmware 18.104.22.168, it will disabled the extender. I was able to reproduce this problem with multiple units. I brought this up with Netgear Support. Users are encouraged to update to this version of the firmware on the website.
👤The review has been updated. The AC1900 Model EX7000 died today. It lights up, except for the 2.4 and 5 ghz lights. I can't get wi-fi on either one. It's as if this thing died within 3 months of purchase. I tried a number of things, including the reset button. Nothing was done to fix this piece of junk. Netgear doesn't make it easy to exercise its warranty. Right now, sorting through that mess. The original review was not a good one. I thought I was getting the right extender to complement my Nighthawk. I was wrong. I mounted my Ring Spotlight cam outside the garage because it was out of range for my existing Nighthawk router, and I wanted to use the AC1900 EX7000 extender to run my new device. I became concerned when the Ring camera kept going offline. During the elimination process, I moved the Netgear extender to 15 feet from my camera to ensure a good signal. The problem continued. The AC1900 Netgear extender is the culprit, not the Ring camera. Ring cameras are not compatible with the 5 GHz band. I connected it to the entender's band. For whatever reason, the extender can't seem to maintain the 2.4 ghz signal for more than a couple hours without service interruptions, which knocks my Ring Spotlight Camera offline. Each and every time, the Extender must be rebooted to fix the problem. I was on the phone with a call center. The CSR followed her instructions and had me change the channels on my routers, which she assured me would solve my problem. The camera came back on. I was very happy. The angels slept on me that night. The camera was offline again the next morning. Frustrating! Since setting up the Netgear extender, this has happened every night. The problem was definitely with the Netgear extender and not the Ring camera, so I chose the 2.4 GHz. The primary wi-fi signal on my phone is from the extender. When the Ring camera goes offline, I check my phone to see if it has jumped from the 2.4 ghz signal to the 5 ghz signal, indicating the 2.4 ghz signal was lost due to a service interruption and the phone had to search for and find the 5 ghz signal. I found this problem on the internet and on the Netgear forums and it appears that the problem was caused by one of the Netgear's firmware updates. There is still no patch or new update for the problem. A security camera can't stay online. Come on! The most important job of a wi-fi system is to maintain the signal. You can do better. Is it possible that I'll be using Google mesh in the future? If Netgear can't find a solution to this problem, it will be. I wish I'd been able to install my system sooner. I waited out rainy days and a busy schedule for the perfect day to set up everything and now I'm past the point where I could've returned it to Amazon. I'm angry and disappointed. They expect me to pay them to help me after I have a month left of free phone assistance from Netgear. Really? The "help" process is more difficult because of your call center in India. I can't understand everything the CSR says and she can't understand me so it makes for a very frustrating customer experience. My advice is to find a better wi-fi solution.
Press the button to connect. Use the app to find optimal location. Increase internet coverage to 1500 square feet and connect up to 25 devices. It's compatible with any access point. The fast ethernet port will allow you to connect your favorite device to the fast port. Access Point Mode: The RE315 can be used to turn your wired Internet connection into a wireless one. It can be used to connect wired devices, like a game console or smart TV. The RE315 range extender is compatible with all of the above mentioned devices. TP-Link OneMesh creates a mesh network by connecting to a OneMesh routers for seamless whole- home coverage.
👤I work with things like these for a living, but not this exact model. When I think of a mesh network, I think of an extender that doesn't create a separate network. MyWifiNetwork_EXT is an example. This isn't a mesh. A mesh should connect and be invisible. This item is only for use with a mesh network, and I only purchased it because I want to have a mesh network. If it is the same network and not an _EXT one, you can switch between locations of your home, and it's on the box. This product is the same as off brand, cheaper options. I can't believe that I made this mistake when I only recommend mesh networks to my customers. I have checked in the app and it seems my router is not compatible with OneMesh. It was easy to set up and I use these for cameras, so it will work just fine, but you can find a cheaper option with the same speeds.
👤I was hesitant about buying this product. It was easy to install. The directions were easy to follow. It took me a while to pair it with my internet, but it was easy to get my devices to pair with it. The outside ring spotlight camera I am using is getting poor signal on the internet. The hardest part of the process was getting the camera to pair with the device, but it was solved after I removed the batteries. I believe that any device that you pair requires a restart. I plugged the extender into an unused outlet in my bedroom. I have a better signal to my camera and I am happy about it. After trying this out for a week, I started having buffering issues. I will return for a refund. I work from home, but I can't afford to be kicked out of my work because I work from home.
👤I live in a town home and my regular internet service wouldn't reach our guest room and kitchen. I put it in the kitchen after 5 minutes of setting it up and it worked. It reaches our cars. The internet speed test was very fast. I would recommend this to a friend.
👤This isn't new or improved. I already had the TP-Link AC750 and we love it, so when we wanted to extend the internet to the backyard I decided to go with this one, which apparently stretches further. After setting it up and moving it to my desired area, I was never able to get it to give me more than 2 bars of signal. I plugged my TP-Link AC750 into the same outlet and ran speed tests from a few nearby locations. I got faster speeds on the older model on every test. Sending this back and getting another one.
👤This will give you a boost to your internet. My internet is on the other side of the house. I used this on the opposite side of the house and it was a different experience.
The easiest way to set up is to use the Nighthawk app or press the WPS button. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location. The internet booster's exterior antennae allow signals to cover up to 1292 square feet. 👤After two weeks, stopped working. Rebooted it. Multiple times. It should be reset. Multiple times. A cable modem has been rebooted. Multiple times. Its location has been changed. Multiple times. I was cried out in pain. Multiple times. Returned it. Once.
👤It push my internet speed from 15mbp to 60mbp. It's amazing, no more lagging when I play a game.
👤I am writing a review from a hammock. It is a miracle that I can get internet this far away from my house. I am terrible with technology and usually end an attempt at installing any internet-related product with cleverly invented curse words and a return to Amazon claiming the product was too difficult to set up. This was the easiest set-up I have ever experienced. I watched a few videos on how to install it before buying it. It worked on my first attempt, but I didn't believe it. During the lock-down procedures in place, I can escape my home office and be productive from the backyard. This product is reliable.
👤It's a lot harder to get internet to other parts of the house now.
👤I would like to give this zero stars. This product is terrible. It didn't work. I was told to place it within 6 feet of my router. I was able to convey the message that I needed tech support when I log in to the company website to register the device. I spent the next 30 minutes or so with a tech support person who was able to log on to my computer from another location, to show me why my house network was being accessed by network freeloaders and that I needed a firewall. It was boom! I was headsmacked for my stupidity. The tech support person tried to sell me a "firewall" services contract, which was an attempt at a sales job. The internet in my house works fine, I checked with my internet company after I got off the phone, and I already have a firewall in place. I wanted this device to extend my signal so I could plug my phone into another room and not have to go to the other room to use it. I wasted more than 30 minutes of my life, got a misleading sales job, and now have to return a non-working item back to my store, because I didn't help get the device connected. Caveat emptor.
👤I had to search online for directions to connect to my internet connection. It didn't give me more than what I already had, after I finally found something similar. I was very disappointed but I was able to return it for a refund.
👤I stumbled across this one while looking for a extender. I have trouble getting the internet in the bedroom and the living room. The network was extended from 2 bars to all 5 bars. A lot of this could be my internet service provider that is making my speeds slower. I'm thinking aboutUpgrading my router to something stronger and seeing how it works. I have nothing bad to say about this unit. I had a bigger company make a more powerful version of the one I had that provided 3 bars of internet, and it was better than the one I had before. I will report back after I get a stronger router to see if the coverage is still bad.
The rockspace is compatible with all standard routers on the market and works with all of them, so you can enjoy your favorite movies, listen to your favorite music, and watch your favorite shows. It adds wireless coverage up to 2000 sq ft and connects up to 32 devices. You never get disconnected as you move around your home or office if you use your existing network name. AC1750 The speed of the internet. FastLane technology provides up to 1750Mbps performance for demanding HD streaming and online gaming. It works with any wireless or cable modem. Plug in game consoles, streaming players, or other wired devices into the one Gigabit port for maximum speed. WEP and WPA/WPA2 are wireless security protocols. Simple to set up. Press the button to connect. The NETGEAR app can be used for optimal location.
👤Buying technical products based on Amazon ratings can be pretty frustrating. The NETGEAR EX6100 AC750 is an example of why that is. The majority of the complaints that you'll find in 1 star reviews are based on misunderstanding. If you use this piece of hardware to extend your coverage, you'll get less bandwidth since it uses 50% to communicate with the router. You have alternatives if you need 100% speed. This device supports Access Point mode. You can use the same password and SSID for both the Extender and Access Point. 2. If you don't want to spend a lot of time laying cable, you can use one band to communicate with your device. Most of the devices support only 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band signal can be problematic. 3. You can try other devices that use powerline, like TP-LINK AV500. I'll connect it with the cable when I have time. TP-LINK would require me to buy a wireless add-on at the endpoint since it is powerline + LAN. This is the best solution for you if you have problems with the internet. I had a bad experience with powerline tech, but if you need to connect just one device, powerline may work. Don't buy extra antennas for your computer. I've left two detailed reviews on products that I've tried out and their price is way too much for what they offer. The reviews contain more recommendations on the EX6100. Devices like this are not likely to malfunction because of low heat generation and no mechanical parts. If they work within 90 days. They'll work for a long time without problems. Let that be the conclusion of this review. I'll try to answer your questions if you leave a comment. I see few reviews that mention that EX6100 doesn't allow you to setup the same password as your primary network, and have your devices auto switch. You can easily setup the same password in the administration. If this review helped you, I would like to mark it as helpful. Good luck with your network, whatever you decide!
👤The item was not good. I contacted tech support and they admitted that their product was flawed. Once they received the faulty one, they would have me pay to ship it back to them, and then they would mail a new one to me. Their tech support was difficult to understand and they were less than helpful. I wouldn't recommend it.
👤I don't write many reviews but this one deserved one. I didn't think much of it as I had tried different ways to extend the range of the internet. All have failed as advertised. The signal on my laptop was so weak that it was not usable. It was easy to set up the AC1200. If you want to connect a cat5 between the AC1200 and your computer, you need to enter the setup address in your browser, and then you're done. I took it to the building and changed my network to 100% sig strength. It works if you buy one.

Experience stable connections are easy to install for any type of application. The purpose of the extenders is to increase or improve the coverage of the internet. 👤I bought a extender with low expectations. I have a house that is over 3000 square feet and thought I might need one for each floor. I decided to try one at a time. Setting this thing up was easy despite what I have read. I put it up for both bands. I plugged it in on the same floor as my computer, and the range was in my house. The speeds are much faster and there are no dead spots anymore. I'm happy. My internet now extends into my yard as well. Very happy.
👤I didn't believe the problems described in the negative reviews. I bought this unit as a wireless access point for my home, which is wired with cat6 to every room. I get about 100 Mbps downloads from Spectrum. The Apple 2016 Airport Extreme is the one that I use. There is no easy setup for an access point. Do not plug in the ethernet cable if you want the unit to join your network. You have to change to access point mode after that. Since the device still wants to be a DHCP server, be careful. After changing to access point mode, turn off the DHCP server. The download speeds were less than 1 Mbps after I sorted out all the details. I tried factory reseting and repeating the process in hopes of finding something that I missed, but I still got 1 Mbps. I gave up and returned the unit. The software is beautiful. What's under the hood is more problematic.
👤If you have a WPS button, this is a great item to install. The easiest way to use is if you don't have a WPS button. It took me less than 2 minutes to set it up. Plug the unit into a wall outlet near your router, then push the large button on the Range Extender. The light turns blue in a few seconds. Push the button on your computer. When the blue flashing lights on the range extender turn solid blue, you have a solid wi-fi extension. The extender remembers the settings if it is unplugged now. Plug the unit in to a room in your home where the internet is poor. When the little blue lights turn solid blue again, the unit will flash and instantly extend the internet. The signal is great and the unit works. I will post a follow-up review if reliability or failure changes.
👤It is easy to install, but not actually do anything. In places where I have a strong signal on my phone, this device can not detect my new AC TP-Link router. If the signal goes through ordinary window glass, it won't connect, and it has to be plugged in no more than 15 feet from the router. Really? My 10-year old A/B/N mesh system had a range of over 50. At least there was a signal. When I plug this in 15 feet from the line of sight, it doesn't result in an improvement of signal inside or outside my house. I have been an IT pro for 35 years. I bought two and will send them back tomorrow. Don't waste your time with this piece of junk, do yourself a favor.
