The AC1750 has a dual band wireless internet connection and 4 ports for voice and data services. There are 3 products in 1: DOCSIS 3. The cable digital voice service is not supported. It is compatible with major U S cable internet providers. Not compatible with other internet providers. There are 32 downstream x 8 upstream DOCSIS channels. Best for cable internet speeds up to 4 Gbps. It's required for cable internet service. Wave 2 AC2350 dual-band concurrent wi-fi Router has 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The SURFboard Manager app can be used to setup and manage your network.
👤I have good experience on this subject and I am a Systems Engineer. I can tell from my tests and perspective that this is not a reliable product. I had a good experience with the Support, good people that look to care about your problem will answer you in a reazonable way. They pointed me to the signals out of range after looking at the modem QAM table on the GUI interface after few interactions, tests, and changing my modem twice for the same model. I was asked to contact the company to solve the problem. I contacted the company and they opened a ticket for me to change all of the cables and signals for my installation, after some adjustments to their equipment all the signals were with the specifications I requested. After a week, boom... The modem is frozen again, and it starts to lose packages on the network at a rate of 80% to 90%. My home has a cabled network that is connected to a pair of Gateways that are connected to two different internet providers. I have tried a number of different modems from different companies on this setup, and all of them showed the same behavior. The internet speed degrades until it is practically useless after a few days when network packages are lost. I have to restart the modem twice a day until it 800-273-3217 I need to restart it again. I'm thinking about a solution, but the modem/router doesn't have a feature to schedule an auto restart, and there are times when you have to restart it twice to get a good connection. It's useless to try to use a smart outlet to recycle power on a scheduled time. It will be useless if it didn't connect after the first recycle. I never used the embedded WIFI from this modem/router because I just need cabled internet to my firewall. There is nothing to add about the quality of the internet. Summary of a problem. It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing After a few days, the modem starts to lose network packages. You can't access the GUI when the modem doesn't respond to requests. I didn't try to break into the modem to investigate the software issue. It works fine after a hard restart, but it might be related to a persistent cache of something that only gets flushed after the second restart. Conclusion It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing After using the modem/router for a while and trying different modems, I have stopped using it. I believe that the series of Gigabit modem have an Important reliability issue on the software that doesn't implement adequate quality assurance mechanism for the connection and are incapable of self recovering from a degraded connection situation making it a bad option for most users. If you don't want to restart the modem every time your internet is slow, then I don't recommend it. The other modem had the same behavior. I tried not to be too technical on my review, but this is my first extended review that I feel compelled to write. Leave a comment if you need any more information. I don't think I can share my email here. I was told over the phone that only the internet service provider would be able to update it. That is not the kind of answer you want to hear from a product with that price range. This review is not related to the opinion of any company or customer I've worked with until now.
DOCSIS 3.0 has 24x faster download speeds than DOCSIS 2.0. There are 3 products in 1: 24x8 DOCSIS. The modem is from the Xfinity brand. It was approved for use with the internet and voice service. Not compatible with any other internet provider. Doesn't support home security or home control service without an internet-enabled device. The cable modem has 24 download and 8 load channels. This product requires a certain internet service. The AC1750 is a routers. A dual-band concurrent wi-fi router with 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Certified by the manufacturer. 1 year is a long time.
👤I am not able to express my disappointment with the product or the headaches it caused me. I have been trying to figure it out for the last 3 hours. I thought it was new. It didn't mention that it was being refurbished. It was still registered to a different account when xfinity sorted it out. I was getting zero internet from it when it was fixed, but it was giving xfinity a signal that it was working. This entire process was a huge waste of money and time because I don't have a car and I didn't hear about the internet for three hours. I wouldn't recommend this product.
👤I bought this modem because it has all of the functions I need to replace my modem. The modem is still active and I was unable to get it to work. I bought a new version at 2x the price and hoped it would be less headaches.
👤The item was packaged well and easy to install. It turned out that it was registered under another user's account and so I was not able to add it to my account. Had to return it so time wasted. I am hesitant to work with this vendor again.
👤I spent an entire Saturday on the phone with Tech support from both Arris and Comcast trying to get this piece of junk working. The Arris Gateway was registered in the system of the company that had a problem with it. They were able to read the MAC ID back to me, so I knew it was in their system. I couldn't get the internet to work with my devices. Arris Tech Support couldn't figure out why no device could connect with their Gateway. They never offered to replace it. I'm an Amazon prime member. Don't waste your money or time on this garbage.
👤I want the product replaced since it didn't work and only the option of sending it back to get a refund is available. I will be with out internet since I already got comcast.
👤This purchase was made to save on our monthly charges for an Xfinity provided unit. It was compatible with our requirements for a bundle of internet, phone and modem services. It has met all of our internet needs and we have not had any issues with TV streaming on several devices. The process of setting up was fairly straightforward and the rep was very helpful.
👤It was a smart move to buy this unit and pay it off in 6 months, cutting my bill for the old rental unit. I waited so long.
👤It was important to call Cox/Xfinity to have them recognize the modem. The internet and cable were easy to use. It took them about 15 minutes to get the phone hooked up, but it worked out well.
Certified by the manufacturer. 1 year is a long time. It's compatible with the Xfinity cable and voice plans. Three-in-one DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, AC1900 wi-fi router, and 2usb ports. DOCSIS 3.0 has 24x faster download speeds than DOCSIS 2.0. It's ideal for streaming 4K HD videos. There is an optional battery backup for power outages that can last up to 8 hours. There are 2 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) ports and 4 Gagabit Ethernet ports. System requirements include Microsoft Windows 7, 8, Vista, XP, 2000, Mac OS, and Linux. The browsers that are higher are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox 2.0, or the newer browsers.
👤I'll note first that I'm reviewing the Netgear AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem with two lines of telephone support, as it appears Amazon is grouping reviews of similar products. I paid for it on Amazon. This is not one of the "AC1900" models that are out there. I was paying $10 per month for the cable modem that I bought this to replace. It looks like it will take 28 months before I see a return on my investment. I assume my modem will work for the next two years. It was easy to set up, and once I had my own password and SSID, I called the cable company. The nice lady who spoke English well and was a subscriber to Xfinity was able to get internet and voice telephone working easily, even though she had to send multiple signals to the modem, but it eventually responded and has been working fine ever since. I was surprised that I now have two internet connections in my house, one 2.4 GHz and the other 5.0 GHz. The old 2.4 GHz signal is required by some of my devices, including my printer, Oppo BluRay, and even an older version of the Nexus 7. I have no complaints about using my new cable modem. Installation is easy and the bill is lower. I'm happy.
👤This is a review of a cable modem. I use speedtest.net to measure the internet speed of my service from Comcast Blast. I still found that browsing the web was very interesting, with each new page typically taking less than a second to fully paint, who has time for that?! When I ordered this modem, I assumed that it would improve the performance of my web experience on WIRED connections, but I didn't think so. I was wrong. The difference was immediately apparent when I had this modem up and running. Web pages pop up like TV ads. This will change my life, and I already find myself going deeper into websites because I am not afraid of the slow painting with each new click. The difference in browsing performance seems to be much quicker than the previous 150, even though Speedtest.net is now showing 280+ downloads. I have a modem in one corner of the house, and the signals seem to be faster than I thought. The installation was easy. I just went to xfinity.com and didn't call the station. I was up and running with internet and phone service after just 2 clicks. The administration utility for the routers is easy to use, and seems to have all the capabilities that a technical user might need. I feel like I have jumped 5 years into the future with the new speed of this box. It is worth $300 to me since I will get back my rental fees after 30 months. I discovered that the 'Stream TV' service wouldn't work because their system thought I was not on my home network, so wouldn't show some of the TV Channels. I wasted an hour of my life telling them that they needed to register the MAC addresses. It worked after they did that. The web might not suck anymore, but it still does.
You can trust the support from the USA and the 2 year warranty from the company. It's compatible with Charter, Cox, Cablevision, and more. Requires cable internet service. Not compatible with: AT&T, or CenturyLink. Two-in-one DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and a wi-fi Router. DOCSIS 3.0 has 8x faster download speeds than DOCSIS 2.0. It's ideal for streaming HD videos, downloads and online gaming. Required for the fastest tiers of cable internet.
👤I work as a network systems coordinator. The cable modem you are buying can only be updated by your internet provider. Your cable provider's firmware is what determines hardware's quality. Most of the time, your ISP will not update your firmware because it's not their hardware and they want you to pay for it. My internet service provider will not download many of the problems that I have. You are stuck with an expensive boat anchor because they chose to keep crippled firmware in place. There are NETGEAR applications. The software should be put back into the bottle. The application is slow and unresponsive. It's hard to make changes and cause your network to stop working. It is the same across all their hardware offerings. I would not buy anything from NETGEAR.
👤I had the same issue as James and many other recent reviewers. I bought the C6300 just 8 months ago, thinking I was getting a better product from a good company. It stopped without an explanation today. The signal was fine when they called. The guy suggested that they rent their modem because of equipment breaks. I said I'd call Netgear, I had new equipment and expected good service, unlike with Comcast. Was it proven that I was wrong? The tech went to great lengths to show that the problem was not a hardware problem but a software problem. She said she knew how to fix it. I would have to pay either $239 for 2 year coverage or $159 for one year extended coverage. She said that they would offer a one time fix for $50 and that it was not even a year old. I probably paid for nothing because I only paid for the "push reset" process, and I wasn't as smart as James. The manager lectured that technology can't be expected to last forever and that you need extended warranties on everything. If you hope that the device will last you longer than 3 months, you will have to pay another $50 or more, or find another brand.
👤Do yourself a favor and stay away from the reviews for different models, this is a review for the C6300 Amazon is grouping the reviews for different models, do yourself a favor and stay away from the reviews for different models, this is a review for the C6300 Amazon is grouping the reviews I can't speak for the other models, they may work well, but for the C6300 series, it just doesn't work, which is why the reviews are so different. When first turn it on, everything works well, but a few minutes later, the ID broadcasts are stopped completely. The only way to get it to broadcast again is to reset the box. I went the extra step of getting a replacement for the same issue. They try to BS you, as a Network/ cyber security engineer who has years of support experience but has actually managed multiple support centers, I can smell BS a mile away. The funny thing is that the excuses the techs try to give you make absolutely no sense since they are so lacking in technical skills.
Fast wired connections to your computer, printer, game box, storage drive, and other devices can be made with two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a single USB port. The product is certified to look and work like new. Functional testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging are included in the process. The product may arrive in a generic box with all relevant accessories. Only sellers with a high performance bar can sell Certified Refurbished products on Amazon. It's compatible with Xfinity. Three-in-one DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, AC1900 wi-fi router, and 2usb ports. There is a modem speed of 960Mbps and a dual-band AC1900 that has a speed of 5 GHz. 24x8 channel bonding is approved for 500 Mbps plans. DOCSIS 3.0 has 24x faster download speeds than DOCSIS 2.0.
👤The gateway device was used to replace a rental unit. Plug the old in and then plug the new in. After logging into the internet with the computer, I was greeted by a screen that said I could use the new unit and not have to call the company. I was able to connect all my devices after changing my password. The devices had to be rebooting. The internet signal is better than the rental unit. I was able to return the rental unit with the help of a UPS label. The box from the device worked well.
👤I should've listened to previous buyers. The C7100V was the modem/router combo I was researching and I found mixed results. I decided to give it a try even though it had some issues. It arrives and I have encountered the same problem as I read about. I got a modem activated by calling the company and then I was connected to the internet. After 10 minutes, the internet is disconnected and the modem needs to be unplugged for 15 seconds. After the second disconnection, I called Xfinity to have my modem re- activated.
👤The modem was able to connect to the internet. I could not connect my devices to the modem via a network or internet. Couldn't get the correct address. It wasn't the usual 192.168.0.1 and kept changing. The tech support person from Netgear remembered that there is a reset switch that one can push with a paperclip and get it to work after 10 minutes. I think someone might have messed with the factory setting since this is a refurbished model.
👤The tech support says to talk to your internet service provider. My phone and husband's laptop won't stay on because the PC is hardwired and only works continually. No kidding, I love Amazon. I will never buy another product from them again. It's really difficult to contact Amazon for anything other than their usual channels after three months. I thought I was saving $100, but I was losing $170. It was an expensive lesson. I'll keep trying to connect to a customer service rep, but this product stunk. When it's their own product, Amazon is flexible. Customer service tech heard intermittent connection and offered either exchange or a refund. I took the exchange and ordered a new one, hoping it will arrive in time for me to return it. This adds a star for Amazon's customer service. I think I mentioned I love Amazon.
👤The model was supposed to be a Certified Refurb, but never worked out, after spending over an hour on the phone with a tech from Comcast, we determined the box was bad. Box would not route out to internet wired or wireless after changing to another device.
👤This is my first time buying a refurbished electronics item and I'm pleased I went this route and saved $100 compared to the price of buying a new one. The modem and all cords are in great condition and work perfectly. The box it came in had a user manual that was all that was needed to set it up.
It is possible to have a comparable service with the internet and voice service. It is certified by the company for their service. It's not compatible with non-Xfinity voice services. Model C7100V replaces your cable modem and can save you up to $150/yr in equipment rental fees. It is built for fast speed. Best for cable provider plans that can reach 400 Mbps. Up to 1800 sq feet of wireless coverage and 30 devices connected with AC1900 speed will give you fast wi-fi performance. Fast wired connections to your computer, printer, game box, storage drive, and other devices can be made with 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 USB ports. There is phone support. Enhanced call forwarding features, including caller ID, 3-way conference calling, and more, are available on up to 2 telephone lines. There is a technology called mole technology. DOCSIS 3.0 is engineered with 24x8 channel bonding. SAFE & SECURE includes parental controls and supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless security protocols.
👤I spoke with a comcast tech from another country as I tried to setup the computer. What a mess! My user account disappeared into the computer after he had me login to administration. I was able to find some of the files from the administration. All of my pictures are gone. Many of the pictures were of people who have died. The computer never had a problem recognizing the modems I used, and I never had to go into administration. I will pay to have a complete reinstall of my computer on Monday. The modem was purchased to save rental fees, but the joke is on me. The refurbished modem works fine, even though I didn't know what I was doing and the comcast tech didn't help. I don't have any complaints. Everyone should backup their files to a flash drive or the cloud. Don't make the same mistake that I did. trusting a tech
👤I bought the refurbished unit because I rarely have an issue and it saved me 70 dollars. I had a hard time getting it set up, and the tech said it hung, so I had to hard reset it twice. The performance was good once we got that going, but I have to power cycle it more often than the default comcast rental. I had to power cycle it every day for the last three days. Comcast handles the updates, so even if I wanted to check and see if there's an update needed, I wouldn't be able to because they control that. There are times when I'd like to be able to control that, but most of the time that's fine and convenient. I recommend it, but with a reservation. The performance is better than the standard comcast rental.
👤This device is the only one that claims to be compatible with all three services, and I had high hopes for it. I wanted an easy way to stop and start the internet so I could control the internet abuse by my children. The spectrum service denied the compatibility with a voice when I installed it. I had to call Spectrum to get a modem for voice. My second modem has been freezing on the internet. I returned the previous one. I will return this one as well. I don't know why this has a compatibility issue. They claim it should work. I have isolated all other internet but it still freezes. Very disappointed. I had to sell my nighthawk back to someone over the internet after trying it for a month and working with a different support specialist at Netgear. I would recommend someone to look into the compatibility of the devices. I have lost a lot of time and money over the equipment by Netgear.
👤The unit was refurbished. The set up was assisted by several companies. Didn't work. It had no Netgear tech support because it was bought via Wooton. Returning to Amazon. Expect a full refund. So far, I have wasted about 6 hours of my life.
A worldwide leader in technology depends on reliability. Comes with two years of expert support from their team. A built-in AC1900 dual band cable modem is a fast 24x8 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. Power boost, security, and more can be achieved with a wi-fi gigabit routers. The maximum modem speed is 1000 Mbps. The cable modem rental fee is up to 156 dollars per year. The savings are shown for the cable service provider, but not for the cable modem. Provides internet access for a variety of devices, including laptops, tablets, and more. wired connections to Windows and Mac computers are provided by 4 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. A cable modem chip protects against denial of service attacks. Adding a high- performance wi-fi power amplifier to boost the wireless signals to the legal limit gives a significant boost in speed and range. The signal on wireless clients is further enhanced by anybeam performing at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.
👤I moved into a new home and there is only one game in town. I used to rent the modem/router monthly. I told myself that the next company wouldn't get me on that. I know that this will pay for itself down the line, even though it is an expensive out of pocket cost now. I read and researched between the different models and decided on this one. Installation was flawless. I was already connected to the internet when the tech was about to set up the TV. There is a strong signal in the house. There have been no problems thus far. The modem has been solid for the last 4 months. The signal is strong.
👤I bought a modem/router to replace my old one which cost me $11/mo to rent. Why didn't I do this earlier? The new router will pay for itself in 15 months, but the upgrade to the performace was so dramatic I could not believe it. The rented modem was less than a year old. The signal was unreliable on the 3rd floor of my house. It was very annoying that my nest cam would go off-line several times a day. I was blaming the other person. The download speeds were not impressive. Since I switched over to the new routers about 3 weeks ago, I'm getting strong signal on the 3rd floor and my nest cam hasn't gone off-line. The download speeds are much faster than with the internet service provider. This is a very good routers, bottom line. I could not be happier.
👤The device works. The self-installation process with Xfinity did not work out. I have an existing account with a modem. I had to register the modem by phone. The tech had to shut down the modem. The new modem was activated. The process took about 30 minutes. All is well after that.
👤I had trouble getting a strong signal in some corners of my house with my first routers, which was much cheaper. I replaced it with a satellite unit and it solved my issues with the internet. I needed to replace my modem about a year after I bought the device that could replace it. The beam forming and power boost features of the MG7700 sounded like they might be enough to overcome my home. Without an extra satellite unit, there is no need for a mesh routers. I was wrong. Even though this is a much more expensive and fancy router, it still has the same problems as my older cheaper one, which is a strong internet signal throughout my home. I am going to buy a new cable modem and return the old one. Apparently 5ghz signals have more trouble going through walls than 2.4ghz... When I connected my phone to the 5ghz network, it lost the connection in a far corner of my house, but it still showed the 2.4ghz network. The product was easy to set up, I just plugged it in, and I was prompted to sign into my account, which took less than 30 minutes. Since this is a dual band, you can have one network for both 5 and 2.4 GHz. It's nice because it gives you more control over which device you want to have on which network, but keep in mind that 2.4 GHz is more susceptible to interference than 5 GHz, and it has less trouble going through walls. You can set the SSIDs to be the same and leave it up to your devices to choose, which is what I did, and the Orbi uses the same SSID for both. The status and configuration pages are usable, but I have seen worse products. One thing I don't like about most other routers is that they only show the wireless devices, and you can't see the other devices. There are many advanced settings that I didn't play with, but almost all of them have an info popup with explanations. It's a decent looking device with a simple design. I rented a combo modem+router that looked like an alien spaceship, but it is not as big or ugly as this one. The shelf space is saved by having it stand vertically. The modem and router are combined into a single device, but I discovered that the firmware is not user-updatable. This is normal for cable modems, but not every other router allows me to update the firmware. Updating the functions of the device was not allowed. The manual says that when there are updates, they will be sent to your internet service provider for approval and deployment.
The SURFboard Manager app can be used to setup and manage your network. The input voltage is between 100 and 250V. The product is certified to look and work like new. Functional testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging are included in the process. The product may arrive in a generic box with all relevant accessories. Only sellers with a high performance bar can sell Certified Refurbished products on Amazon. It's compatible with all of the above. Not compatible with cable voice services. Three-in-one DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, AC1900 wi-fi and 4 gigabit wired switch. There is a modem speed of 960Mbps and a dual-band AC1900 that has a speed of 5 GHz. 24x8 channel bonding is approved for 500 Mbps plans. DOCSIS 3.0 has 24x faster download speeds than DOCSIS 2.0.
👤I have had my nitehawk for a month now and I absolutely love it. It's fast, reliable, and has had no trouble, I wish my cable provider was the same. I purchased the extreme bundle from my cable provider and regular ethernet cords don't cut it, so make sure to get the fiber cable. This is the only way to get the speeds that are advertised.
👤Since setting up this device, my network has been slow or dropping offline randomly. Since installing it, there have been attacks on it. The logs are full of attacks from the DOS program, and each one is at the same time as my network is slowing. This is possible with DOS protection enabled. It's a common problem, it appears from a few web searches. When my kids and partner use the internet, it becomes useless. If you notice drops and slow downs, you should check the logs in the advanced section of the device.
👤It's easy to install and compatible with Xfinity. $13 a month is charged by Xfinity for this.
👤We pay for a small amount of internet access from Xfinity. The modem combo maxes out at 190 MB. A technician will be coming out this weekend to test and verify. Will update. How can this have good ratings? Returned the refurbished unit with no issues after ordering other brands. It must have been a dud.
👤I bought a refurbished item from Amazon. The 3 year protection plan was also purchased with it. It was cheaper than the new item. It took it to my internet provider and they were able to add it without any issues. It was connected up at home without any issues. If you've set up a Netgear router, this one works the same. I have up to 15 wireless devices connected at any given time, and signal has been stable so far. If you want to update the firmware, you have to have your cable company do it. My old Netgear Nighthawk had a better range than Signal, but it's still decent. It's noticeable. The purchase allowed me to free up a fair amount of space and cabling and I am still very happy with it. I usually avoid combo's like the plague, however this one seems to be well made.
👤I would've replaced my rental xfinity modem sooner, but I would've put off investing in my own because of the mixed reviews on Amazon for wireless modems in general. The rental cost of the xfinity modem went to 14 a month, so that was the final straw, so I bought the NETGEAR AC1900. I am happy to report that it works perfectly, and has a separate 2.4 GHz and a 5G signal, so it's like 2 different signals in one. For the less technical types, please read. Call them and tell them that you are changing your modem. The modem serial and model number will be given to Xfinity by you. You will not have internet access until you call Netgear to register the modem, even though the signal will be working. It will be working as soon as you do this. You may need to take it out for 20 seconds. I have a lot of devices on it. There were no issues with signal drops. I've gotten my monthly bill for Xfinity down to $49 a month and I couldn't be happier.
It supports wireless security protocols. Three-in-one cable modem, AC1900 router and symmetrical voice ports are included. Four GigE ports, two XFINITY Voice compatible phone ports, and a 4 GHz and 5 GHz Gigabit Router are included. This product is recommended by the company for their XFINITY internet service that can reach 400 Mbps. It is required that you have access to the X Fibre internet service. It was approved by and for use with the two companies. The product will not work with any other internet service provider. It is possible to eliminate monthly rental fees and phone costs with a limit of 156 dollars per year. The built-in high-speed ROUTER with AC1900 WIRELESS and POWER BOOST provides internet access for a variety of devices. wired connections to Windows and Mac computers are provided by four 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. A cable modem is used to protect against Denial of Service attacks. Wireless power boost for better speed and range adds high- performance power amplifier to boost the wireless signals to the legal limit, giving a significant boost in speed and range. AnyBeam beamforming at both 2. 4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies focuses the signal on wireless clients to further enhance performance and range. The backup battery option that allows your phone to make calls for 8 hours after power is lost is not included.
👤I bought this because of the increase in the monthly rental fee. I always had a gateway unit. I know that most techies buy a separate modem. I didn't want to have 2 pieces of equipment in the house and I never had a problem with the gateway unit. We don't do anything like that. I have a triple play package with Comcast. It is cheaper to have triple play than it is to have the landline. It takes about 15 minutes to set up. That is true, but there is no way to not call them. You can't just switch the phone lines and cables. You have to call the company to register the unit so they can connect everything on their end. You can't do that without calling them. When I called early in the morning, I didn't want to be on hold forever. I was fortunate to have two women who knew what they were doing and made the process very easy. I was worried about having to call. Press the prompt for internet service when you call. Get that set up. After that, check your phone. You will not have a dial tone. The internet person doesn't know that you don't have a dial tone, so tell the agent. They need to connect you to someone else. If you want to change the names of your networks, you can do it after you have everything connected. I am not a techie. I didn't want the network names to be what comes with the unit. I thought it would take another hour of my time. The instructions can be found on page 6 of the booklet. It took 2 minutes to change the network names. When you do this, you will have to log in to your internet again on all of your devices, and give the password. I am really pleased with the unit and getting it connected, but be aware that changing the network name kicks you off and you need to sign back in. I want people to know that they have to call to complete the process, register the device and get connected. Good luck.
👤It was easy to install. It was connected to the cable line. My PC opened the website and I entered my password. I was back on line within a few minutes. Do it! My download speed went from 250 MBs to 295 MBs. If you use the same name and password for your previous network, it will be easier to connect all your peripherals. When I returned my modem, it was the best thing. I overheard the teller tell another customer that the current modem rentals are $11 and will be going up to $13 on January 1st. I will return to my modem quicker. When I got to the front to return my modem, the teller scanned it and asked me where my new modem was, so they could register it. I told them that the phone line was working. She tells me that if they remove my modem, I will lose all my internet access in the house. I assure them that their modem has been working fine for the past 5 days, yet they still ask if I want to return it. They give me a receipt and a paper with instructions to register the modem when it stops working. The modem is still working perfectly after I got home. It's obvious to me that they want to steal every cent from their customers, including from renting equipment, and they're trying to scare me into keeping their modem.

👤I wouldn't buy refurbished items. You have a chance to get 2 bad modems just like I did. The first one worked for 2 weeks and the second for 5 weeks. The reason why this was frustrating was because the second modem was out of the warranty time frame and was already registered to someone else. The technical support guy at Amazon was aware of the issues. My question is: why is Amazon selling modems that are false about being renewed?
👤The nighthawk cable modem worked well. It was easy to set up. The modem has a password that you need to use to access it. Some of the reviews may have been due to not being able to set it up correctly. I've had it for a month. Works well. The internet speed is the same, but the modem is better. The difference is obvious. The day and night are different. Didn't get paid to write about it.
👤If you are looking for the best modem/router in the market today, look no further, the Netgear Nighthawk is the answer. It's easy to install. The equipment is fast.
👤This is a product that has been used before. The unit was not reset back to factory settings and the admin password was not set to default. This locked me out of the router and made it impossible for me to control it. They told me to return the unit and order another one. If the next one has the same issue, I will abandon the'renewed' option and go for the new. The product was completely different when I received the 2nd one. The first one was just a box with a power cable and the second one was almost new. Each component was individually wrapped. The product works perfectly. It seems like a flip of the coin as to what you will get with renewed based on my experience, but the return policy on Amazon makes it easy to return if you get a lemon.
👤The first one wouldn't let me log on, it wouldn't project a signal for me to log onto, and when we contacted customer service, they got us a replacement and that one had the same problem. Don't buy a refurbished modem. Its not worth it.
👤While using multiple devices, the internet does not lag. The current provider has 400mbps.
👤Modem works well most of the time. I lost the wireless signal while working on the computer. I looked at my phone. The internet may not be available next to the icon. The music was played through all the problems. The modem works great out of the box. I live in a small condo and get great signals in each room. I am testing signal on my Fire TV devices and I am getting close to 170-190 Mbps. I would buy this again, instead of renting the modem. I haven't contacted customer support for this modem. You can't take it off once you click on it.
👤The new modem. When you can find a refurbished cheaper device, you shouldn't buy a new one.

👤. The AC1900 is not rated by me. I bought a modem/router/phone to replace my old one that I had been renting for 3 years. I received the Netgear AC1900 and called the tech support of the company, but it was not possible to get the unit to work. Shame on you for selling me a used device at a lower price than a new one. I bought the same unit for $20 more the next day, and it worked just as well as the one I had before. The unit is great, but paying for a used unit at a new retail price is bad business. Will look at other options when buying items now.
👤Plug them in, follow some instructions, and set up your wi-fi. Once a product is set up, it runs forever. I bought this model because I didn't want to rent a modem from them. It worked well from March to November of last year. They did a firmware update. The internet kept going down, and I was trying to figure it out. It was down four, five, eight times a day. I couldn't get to the internet when it came back up. I knew what I had to do after they pointed me to the update. I called for support from Netgear. Guess what? They install software on your modem that turns it into a brick and then tell you that there is only 90 days of technical support. 90 days. 90. The modem goes back to the point it was at when it came out of the box when it restarts. You have to change the passwords, change the names of the wireless networks, and then your internet will work for an hour or two. The password for the network you set up on all your devices has to be put in because things have changed. I will never buy another product from Netgear again. Ever.
👤I hesitate to write this review for fear I might jinx myself, but, suffice it to say, this NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Cable Modem Router+ is not only the most user-friendly we've had in our 20 years of home internet use, but also. The speeds we're experiencing today are the same as they were on installation day. I admit that my enthusiasm is partially due to having been with AT&T for so long. We didn't mind the bad service, the slow speeds or the glitchy modems because we thought it was easier to switch to cable broadband. There are two reasons I'm including this in my review. I think a lot of people out there are like us in that they're just now looking to switch from AT&T DSL to faster broadband and are looking at this review because they're shopping for a compatible modem/router. I think it's important to explain that this modem/router only works if your provider delivers. Think of this modem/router as the fuel you put in the gas tank for your car. You can expect watered-down performance if you put watered-down, low- octane petrol in your car. Feed it high-octane, premium fuel and you'll get the zoom zoom. You should zoom. In my three weeks with the Nighthawk, it delivered each and every megabit per second for which I was paying. I insisted on buying our own modem/router because of the bad experience we had with AT&T. I did a lot of research prior to the installation day to find equipment that was guaranteed compatible, and that promised ease of use, exceptional performance and reliability. It was an easy choice to use the Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Cable Modem Router+ Voice (AC 1900) because it does everything we need, but it's also manufactured for and marketed to the people who use the internet and voice. I was a bit worried about dropping our landlines and using the internet phone lines, but now I think that's silly. I thought I would need to buy a new phone. I didn't think I would need to learn a new set of settings. All I did was plug the lines into their respective receptacles on the device, and voila, instant dial tone. We had never had cable before and they needed to run a line off the pole to the house, so they required us to do an install. It took no time at all to set up the Nighthawk. We were up and running after the tech called the activation number dictated the codes for the device. The installation tech tried to talk me out of using the modem. He told me that he's had a lot of customers complain about their speeds slowing down after a couple weeks. He had a better modem out in the truck. I thanked him for the warning, but I didn't read up on it. I knew more. I've reviewed the settings since the install. I connected an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station to the top floor of our home early on. The two devices have played nicely together. I put a picture of the Nighthawk in action so you can see how big the device is. On installation day and today, I include screen shots of our internet speeds. When we had AT&T using their Arris modem, I included the speeds we were getting. There was no comparison. The battery backup is the only complaint I have, and it's the only reason I've given it a 4 stars instead of a 5. The phone function of the device is powered by the backup battery. That makes no sense to me. In the event of a power outage, I decided to purchase a backup battery that could power the internet and phone. I highly recommend the Nighthawk.
