ironing is more enjoyable with a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent. A non-aerosol bottle. The bottle has a refill of 32oz. You get 48 ounces. It is easy to cut and sew fabric art. You can use single ply fabric as a medium to create beautiful multidimensional art. It's easy to sew with machine or hand. It works well with hot glue gun or quick grabs glues and can be washed out of fabric later. It was made in the USA.
👤I saw this stuff on a demo for a site that I like. I decided to give it a try since I usually use embroidered puckers. I made a relatively complex design that would usually be hard to read, but it was very smooth and easy to understand. I used fabric spray to hold things in place, but I don't think that alone would have turned out as well. It was easy to use. I will definitely buy this stuff again when I run out.
👤I was hesitant about trying it. I checked the size of the quilt blocks, but they didn't fit in my hand. My blocks were not 61/2. I decided to try out some of them. The issue was solved. The fabric was almost like paper because I made it last longer. The cuts were clean and the sewing was great. There was no gunk on the iron or needle. I washed my test block to make sure it was soft. Great product. It was worth the extra step in the process.
👤I was very impressed. I usually use the least amount possible by placing a small amount of fabric in a baggie and spray, iron and then use the hoop without stabilizer.
👤The need to use freezer paper in order to run cotton fabric through the printer was eliminated by Terial Magic. I make spirit dolls with inspiring quotes and it's easy to print them on the fabric.
👤I do a lot of machine work. This product stiffens the fabric so not as much stabilizer is needed. I highly recommend it.
👤This didn't work for the prints.
👤I have used magic for many things. I made 3D flowers on a quilt using treated fabric. I wrapped twine around a pencil to dry. I used the curls as an adornment on pumpkins I made last fall. I love it!
👤It's great for stabilizing fabric. It's great for hemstitching.
The product is manufactured in the US. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US.
👤I like the scent of this product and it's my favorite scent, but the other ones are nice as well. It doesn't leave the white remnants on the fabric like other starches do. I use it with my steamer. I ran out and went to many stores to find this product. I got a huge refill so it will last. I can use this refill to press many clothes and sewing projects. Very happy!
👤We decided that the best way to iron is to use the ironing board and not the steam irons. You can sprinkle or spray water on the lavender scented sizing product, then iron it. This way you don't have to put up with steam irons spotting your clothes as you iron, all irons that you add water to use will give you this problem, so stop using the steam option.
👤Mary Ellen has the best ironing spray. Many years. Amazon sold it in gallon containers. I am a master seamstress. I use this spray to iron the seams. Press them open. I sew. Mary Ellen's can be used to make the fabric smooth and smell fresh. It is not a vegetable. It is better for the fabric. Not thick or sticky. It's perfect for my ironing needs.
👤I like to use this to crisp up the fabric before sewing it. It makes it easier. You can make it as crisp as you want. It is important to keep the edges from fraying as much as possible because the thread count is not very high. A little makes a big difference.
👤I like the lavender scent of Best Press. It doesn't leave any marks after stiffening the fabric. It helps for accurate cutting. I get it by the gallon because of the price.
👤I've been sewing for a long time. I use a water spray bottle instead of putting water in my iron. I would buy spray starch when I wanted to make something. It always smelled clean. Best Press was discovered by me. I don't know why I bought it. Works well. My favorite scent is lavender. Two years ago, I bought my daughter a bottle to drink from as she was learning to sew. It comes in a gallon so I can refill my sprayer. I hope Mary Ellen makes the lavender scent.
👤Mary Ellen's Best Pressed has been used by me for a while. It was hard to find a good price in store. The value is great. This is a non-sticky, non-flaking substance. I have a lot of summer linen and it does a great job and the lavender scent is light, not overpowering. My husband does his ironing. I'm a lucky woman. He loves it too. It's great to stiffen up your work. I love this stuff!
👤I've been using Mary Ellen's for a long time. I used to buy it at the fabric store for a much higher price than what you can find on Amazon. I do a lot of sewing. This stuff is great as a substitute for starch. It's difficult to remove the folds. I wish it worked on my face. There was no iron build up. I'm buying it by the gallon. The lavender has a light scent that doesn't leave a heavy perfume on ironing board.
This is a clear alternative to starch. You can see how much is left in the bottle. The package contains a shatterproof spray bottle.
👤I absolutely love this product. I use this all the time when I am sewing. It helps the piece go much better and my cotton fabric stays crisp and doesn't stretch when I sew it. You will buy it again and again if you try it.
👤I was expecting something great after reading about it. I wasn't impressed.
👤I've been using this product for a while. There are other products and homemade recipes that can be used to replace Mary Ellens Best Press.
The package weight is 1.2 lbs. ironing is more enjoyable with a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent. A non-aerosol bottle.
👤I used a spray bottle to apply the cherry onto the blocks. Sometimes large drops splash out of the spray bottle. The Linen Best Press worked well. I ordered this to try a new scent. A bad move. I was expecting scrubbing and scrubbing to rescue fabric. I'm really disappointed.
👤The scent of this stuff is very pleasant. I iron a lot and it makes my ironing smell good. A very light alternative. It does a good job of setting and pressing seams. It is advisable to use very little to give fabrics a slight crispness. Did I mention that it smells great? I think so.
👤This product makes it much easier to sew without distortion. Mary Ellen's Best Press does not leave a trace on my ironing board. I use this for ironing my work clothes and it always leaves a professional finish.
👤Light but gives some body. Over the years, I've gone through at least 3 gallons. I like non-aerosol.
👤It's a must for quilters. I have a spray bottle of Best Press on my ironing board. It makes your fabric look nice.
👤The ad is about Gallion. It doesn't mean two 1-gallon bottles. It doesn't mean a bottle or two bottles that add up to a gallon. Gallon has nothing to do with it. It's two small bottles. It's not a good deal, even if it were a gallon's worth, because I can get it at the local fabric shop for less. Maybe a refill means a concentrate? Don't think so. The product is great but the scent is expensive.
👤At my local quilt shop, I was introduced to Best Press. This stuff makes ironing/pressing much easier, gives fabric a nice hand, and the scent is very light. It will not ruin your iron.
👤I love cherry blossom. It has a light that lasts and you don't need to worry about ironing. I have used it for a long time and it's nice, but cherry blossom is my favorite. :
There is a single product that has both shir and sysi in it. No Flaking even on dark fabrics. Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles.
👤I've tried many different things while pressing, all with pros and cons. I finally decided to try Best Press, which is one of the best sprays for pressing, and I'm pleasantly surprised. It doesn't leave a weird coating on the fabric, but firms up the fabric just enough to where you can better handle the pieces. I've never had issues with shininess, flaking or scorching, and I can't think of any negatives about the stuff other than its price, which is a little more than I'd like to pay, but sometimes you pay for quality. I don't think I'll ever go back to other agents after ordering my second "jug" of it. I love the smell of peaches and cream.
👤I picked up a spray bottle of this at my local JoAnns and I love it. The refill bottle smells great too. It makes it easier to work with and gives fabric a nice crisp finish. There was no flaky stuff on the finished projects.
👤I heard that this would help with pressing. The scent on this one is really nice, and it's been helpful to have the fabric a bit stiffer when it's pieced, especially on bias cut pieces.
👤My favorite product. It might have a nice scent if you have to iron it. If you want to make it stretch farther, you should buy a bottle that is not scented, or at least half and half.
👤It makes ironing and quilting much simpler. The scent of love. Make it smell good.
👤This is great. Does not leave marks on your fabric. It gives you a crisp, but not stiff feel. Excellent fresh fragrences. I am going through a press. I don't think I'll go back to using sizing again. The best place to get this product is through Amazon. Thank you Amazon!
👤My friends have been trying to get me to use this product. My can of starch was cheap. I got my first bottle. I will never go back to the old way of life. A misted fabric is all that is needed. My iron glides.
👤Went back to the smell.
Mary Ellen's Scented Best Press. This is a clear alternative to starch. It makes ironing easier, wonderful scents, non-flaking even on dark fabrics, non-clogging, acid-free, leaves no trace, relaxes stubbornwrinkles, makes clothes soil-resistant, does not attract bugs, and makes fabrics look like new. This package has 33.
👤After ordering, I received my package quickly. I've always used Magic spray Sizing, but it ran out. I sewed 20 bags for baby shower favors and thought I would try this product. The spray gave the fabric a smooth finish. The time spent ironing the ironing board is a bonus because of the delicate scent. The only downside is that the spray can cause sticky messes. I will just need to clean up after using this product.
👤An improvement. I have gone from a very good seamstress to an advanced one. My articles are professional and easy to work with. It's simple to use. I use a damp scrap to wipe the heat plate off when I put my iron away. It makes a big difference.
👤I live 21 miles from the nearest fabric store and buying this through Amazon was a good choice. I keep one smaller bottle at each station because I use 3 places to cut/iron material. A lot comes in different smells.
👤I like this product. I've tried a lot of scents and like them all. This has enough "starch" to give a smooth finish on ironing without the starch leaving. I heard about Mary Ellen's Best Press on a sewing forum, and it's been all I could ask for.
👤The sheerest fabric was stiffened so that it wouldn't warp or distort during cutting or sewing. The smell is great when ironing. There was no spotting or stains. I placed a next order for a gallon because I am almost out. I have been working on 4 crib and 4 lap quilts that I used to make. I wish it was cheaper. I don't want to make my own with corn starch and water.
👤It works better than spray starch for adding body to your fabrics, no build up on iron sole plate, cost was economical. The scent is nice, but have also used the Peach scent.
👤Best Press is something I like. I use it to press when I quilt. I use it when ironing my husband's shirts. It comes in a number of different smells. cherry blossom is my favorite. The scent is similar to a fruit.
👤I didn't buy this because I thought it would be like any other spray starch. I was wrong. It works well and it smells great. I use it in my sewing machine. I would definitely recommend it.
👤Idéal pour le quilting.
Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles. The product is manufactured in the US.
👤It makes it easier to get the perfect blocks. The secent was the only draw back. I am sensitive to perfumes. I can still smell the secent even though it is very light. I don't know if there is a way to percise without a sent, but I would love it if they did. The smell is great for my kids. I do have a mild reaction to it. I still use it, but make sure I have a fan on.
👤My mom is an avid quilter so I got this for her. She was working on cutting out squares for a quilt when she was complaining about having to buy small bottles. She just has to refill her scurtis and leave.
👤This product is the best for quilt making. I mix with water and a few drops of essential oils and go to town on the most stubborn quilt seams. I can store pressed blocks for a long time without worry about pests. And it works! Like magic! I'm on my second gallon. There are no regrets.
👤I have been making small blocks of quilt for a while, but just started making a Farmer's Wife quilt that had many triangles and other precision pieces. A friend suggested I try something. It was easy to get a hold of spray starch from the grocery store. It helped me keep the tips of my triangles crisp. In a month, I got through 2 ironing board covers and a new iron. I was always running out of food. I found Best Press after doing some research. I started with a small bottle. It was easy to use and kept my ironing board covers clean. I keep a back up gallon in the closet. I can't quilt without it. If you are using Best Press to give body to thinner fabrics, like lawns of voiles, it is very useful. Remember to use a product like this before cutting your pieces and making quilt blocks. If you do it after you cut your pieces, you can cause fabrics to shrink or distort, which can cause puckering.
👤This stuff is great. I am trying to remove the wrinkling from the cotton. I have tried the hottest setting on my iron with steam, sprayed water directly on the fabric, and then ironing the same spot over and over, and ironing right after removing from the dryer. There were stillwrinkles in the fabric, no matter what I tried. I saw this product on a video and decided to try it myself. I am angry! I sprayed my fabric and hit it with the iron, which completely wiped out thewrinkles. I will never use this stuff again.
👤I use this to stiffen my fabrics. When working with fabric that has been cut in the bias, the use of the starch keeps them from stretching. The scent free version is what I like the most.
👤Best Press is the best product for pressing. It has its advantages even though it is expensive. It doesn't mess up the ironing plate because it doesn't have a tendency to do so. I don't have to purchase a product to clean my ironing plate because of this. I would like to comment on Amazon replacing the jug quickly and without fuss. Customer service is still important. Thank you.
You will get 1 pc internal quilting ruler. You can use all types of internal templates of the FMQ. The package does not include the frame. You can buy it if you need it. It is not easy to damage a new material.
👤The product description says the template thickness is 5mm, but it's not clear if they are for high or low-slung machines. The templates are too thick for a sewing machine. The borders are 4 inches or wider. They aren't very practical or usable. The product is shipped from China to the USA. When I tried to return the product, Amazon did not provide a pre-paid return label, and the cost to return the product to China was almost $200.
👤This is a good product. They are thick. The packaging was very good. These templates will not work on a low-slung machine. I decided to buy anyways to see what people thought after reading mixed reviews, I was pretty sure of this before I purchased. I have a baby lock. The ruler foot works great with the templates, but the actual foot on the machine will hit the template and will not allow for free movement around the turns. I used the template and a fabric pen to stencil the design on and then went back with the free motion foot to quilt. You will need 3mm templates if you have a low shank machine. I have already asked if they offer any 3mm templates, so don't waste your time reaching out to them. I gave them less stars in my rating because the person that handled my email was rude and rubbed me the wrong way.
👤I wanted to shorten my machine quilting time. The JUKI 600 does not work like this because of the low shank. The machine was stuck because of the bulk of the fabric. My son made an attachment that works with the Quilt Presser Foot. The model 600 is included. You can buy this type of foot for most machines. It's possible to adjust the spring on the presser foot to make sewing with the template easier. The template and the presser foot are shown in the picture.
👤I debated for three months if I should get this. I bought it for my birthday because I couldn't stand it anymore. The frame was not intact. It should be an inch or so bigger than the stencils that are in it. All was wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a bag. Something caught it in the shipping because one side of the unit was hanging out. I had to take a refund after I tried to return for a replacement. I don't want my merchandise shipped in a container that has damage. I am praying and have glue it on. I have worked with the same material for 40 years as an artist and it won't work. Maybe some pins were drilled into the broken area. Any ideas?
👤It took over a month to receive. The template frame was missing. I tried to reach out to the company, but they have yet to respond. The templates are useless without the frame.
👤I bought this set to help me make a more consistent pattern since I am new to quilting on a machine. I broke 4 needles thinking it was not patient enough because my Juki does not have the right presser foot. I bought a full set, but it will cost more to return it. Make sure you have the taller/thicker foot so you don't break your needles. I will try to figure it out.
The package weight is 1.0 pounds. It creates flatter seams and better point alignment. The comfortabletrigger allows for broad application of the product. There is no fragrance and a flaky surface.
👤I expected more for my money. It worked like a regular spray. I stopped using this product because it didn't feel right while ironing my quilt, but I found a different product that did the job. I think it is a great product. I didn't think it worked for me. Will try it on other projects. I am so sorry.
👤I've used Best Press before and it blows this out of the water. It was really impressed. It has a good amount of starch. I stopped using Best Press because it left weird stains. I don't think this stuff is a good value since Best Press is cheaper. Even though it's more expensive, I'll keep buying it.
👤Good product. If you are making a pieced twin quilt you will need 2 to 3 bottles. I should have bought a second bottle of spray for my twin size quilt, I was very conservative with it. It is not white. I have never used a product like this before. It makes your seams look nice, but it doesn't make your fabric stiff. Just buy enough.
👤I decided to try this brand because I know some experienced quilters who recommended it. Although it works well, I didn't see a huge improvement over the kind I've purchased at Walmart. The bottle was not full when I received it. I will order this product online again.
👤I use Best Press a lot and needed something to stiffen the fabric. This spray is not enough for me.
👤This made ironing and sewing easy. I have bought other products, but they are not as good.
👤If you're sewing or quilt, this stuff is great. I highly recommend you.
👤Not commenting on the product itself. It is ridiculous to receive a shipment with a bottle that is less than one quarterer.
👤The product is brilliant, have used it for many years, and it is one of my 2 favourite products, it leaves fabrics smooth, and it is great to Quilt and wear, no residuals, the service was great, and it was a very Big Plus in my book. June Tailor is the creator of this product, many thanks to him.
👤I use a lot of starch in this product and it's too expensive, but it's not worse than the cheaper brand I was using. I don't think it's worth paying more for the name if money is no object.
👤It is quite expensive. Cheaper products can be used with care. The product does not leave a mark but it does not build up a firm fabric as it used to. It is a trusted product and I continue to use it.
👤It does what it says. It makes sewing pieces together much easier. It is addictive. I went through two bottles too quickly.
👤I have a wardrobe of crinkle shirts that don't crinkle when I twist and dry them. This has worked. The clothes are perfect.
It is recommended for all fabrics. Don't use on materials labeled "Dry Clean Only." Made in the USA. Mary Ellen's Best Press Clear Starch Alternative 16oz Linen Fresh is included in the prices. The dimensions are 8 in. H x 2.5 in. W x 3 in. D. It was made in the United States.
👤Simply the best. I like the smell of Caribbean Beach and how it lightly strains my fabric when sewing. I spray my fabric before cutting it out. I spray when pressing seams.
👤I can't live without this item, I've never used it before. It's amazing.
ironing is more enjoyable with a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent. A non-aerosol bottle. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US. The package weight is 1.0 pounds.
👤The scent of this fabric is nice but it does not come with a sprayer. I have to get one now. It's a refill.
👤This is a great material for quilt making. The material is nice so that my block comes out like I want it. It smells good.
👤I decided to do all of my husband's dress shirts at home because the last dry cleaner destroyed 2 shirts and refused to pay for them, and I figured I could do just as good a job. I needed something to break down the cotton in his shirt to keep it crisp. This was a great surprise. I think taking the items to the dry cleaners pays for itself over time, because it is far cheaper. The only scent in stock was "Caribbean Beach". When this runs out, I will try other scents.
👤I was introduced to this product at a quilt shop. There is no peeling or spots on dark fabrics, there is a clean scent and the bottle is recyclable. This is better than spray spray.
👤I was thrown off by the description and picture of the product, but I still love it. I was hoping for lavender, but it is Caribbean. I use this for pressing my tops.
👤This works better than anything I have used before. It's much better than any other type of food. It can be used to remove hard to remove wrinkling with one spray and one iron. Other starches did not make a difference.
👤I love this product but have been unable to find it in shops I visit.
👤Don't buy it! It's 16 ounces. It stinks. I was going to return the same day it arrived, but it said it was not eligible for return.
