1. Mary Ellen Products Press Starch

Mary Ellen Products Press Starch

New finish, makes clothes resistant to soil, and makes fabrics look new. There is a single product that has both shir and sysi in it. No Flaking even on dark fabrics. Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I tried it on some of my blocks in my current quilt after people rave about it. I didn't like the smell. It doesn't smell fresh to me but it is subjective. I can't tolerate that it caused my fabrics to bleed. Not on all of the blocks, but a lot on one block. I need to recreate this block to continue with my quilt. So sad. I prefer spray starch from the grocery store. The blocks are so rigid that they could stand on their own. I like that. No stretching. My fabrics were not rigid. I guess this is what they mean when other quilters say it gives them a nice hand. Not my preference.

👤Why wouldn't you picture a sprayer next to a bottle, but not mention that it doesn't come with it? Very disappointing. I saw someone ask the question and about 6 people said yes. The reviews have to be different for different products. I have used the product for a long time, but you need a sprayer.

👤You pay a premium price for this product because it leaves spot blotches on your clothes when you use it as spray starch. I will not order or use this product again.

👤This was the second time I tried to order this item. I tried to recognize some of the delivery challenges in the current climate after it was canceled for the first time. I can't use it until I find my own sprayer or return it and try again, because it arrived with no spray nozzle, the second time I ordered it. There are two versions of the sprayer: a refill version and a sprayer version. I ordered a sprayer. Very disappointed.

👤The product looked like it would work. When I iron over the shirt, I spray a little on it. This product stained my shirts. I didn't iron over it for long because I didn't want it to look like a 800-361-3020 I tried to get the stain to dry off, but it wasn't to be. I hope that someone who loves this product will say I did something wrong. I followed the directions on the bottle that I read. I have ruined most of my shirts because of that. I dumped it and threw it away. It cost me a lot of money. Not taking another chance.

👤Many products claim they don't flake, but they do. Mary Ellen's Best Press is up to the task. I was skeptical until I tried it, and it worked. If you like stiff and crisp dress clothes, you might not like this product. You will need a lot of heavy starch for that. I think the body is the same as that of size, but without the peeling. The Linen Fresh scent is light and pleasant, but I don't know how I would like the other scents. I'm sold on this stuff. It's more expensive than other items, but it does what it says it does and that makes it worth it. The gallon size will be my next purchase.

2. Tailors Chalk Triangle Fabric Marker

Tailors Chalk Triangle Fabric Marker

Removes static. You can wear your favorite outfits without fear. The unit comes with 4 color options that will meet your needs. The fabric chalk model is reliable and suitable for professional and homey tailoring. A solid block of chalk with a triangular shape makes it easy to hold and operate. The chalk works well over the fabric. For knitted clothes, you need to provide a bit of pressure to make a perfect mark. Sewing chalk with a good size to not get lost, great for sewing, quilting, or crafting projects, these chalks can be used to mark alterations and draw lines directly on a variety of fabrics. If you want to remove the marks from this chalk, you can test it on a piece of fabric, triangle shape marks are easy to see, can be removed by brushing/ dipping in water, and using an iron or steam to press it out. I am a US seller and customer service is my top priority. Love it or your money back. Not satisfied, get a full refund. If you receive a breakable triangle tailors chalk set, please contact them.

Brand: Andgoo

👤I read the reviews before buying this. They are too thin was one of the biggest complaints. I want my chalk to be thin and crisp, I can't get it from the thick chalk sold by JoAnns. This was what I was looking for. Will they hold up to a fall? I don't know. I won't find out either. My usage is pattern tracing on a table, not clothes marking. The chances of me hitting on the floor are very low. I like having four color choices. They can be difficult to take out of the case once they have been used. The two I got and paid so much more for did not come with a case, but this one does. The rubberbands have to be used to keep it closed. I think it's a small price to pay to have a hard protective case for my tailors chalk. I have not had this problem where someone complains that they couldn't get the chalk removed, but I always do my markings on the wrong side of the fabric just in case. This was taught to me by my mom and her mom who was a seamstress. Different fabrics have different processes for production which is why you should spot test before using any type of marking tools because sometimes a chemical on them will stick to permanently. It is recommended that you wash your fabrics before cutting and marking so that the fabric is preshrunk before you sew. The tailors chalk is exactly what it claims to be, perfect for the thin lines and easy marking that I associate with a good tailors chalk. I will buy these again when I run out.

👤I'm giving this product two stars for its low price and quick shipping. The low price comes with a catch. This chalk is less than half the thickness of a regular tailor's chalk. Also smaller in the overall size. The first time one of these hits the floor, it will be destroyed. I'm a professional and won't buy this product again.

👤I am very disappointed. I can't remove the thin chalk from the fabric. I have 3 quilts marked with this and it says to remove them with water. I just found out that it is waterproof. I may have ruined 3 projects because the fabric from one isn't mine.

👤I've always used a pencil to make marks, but this is the first time I've used tailors chalk. This stuff is great. I like that they are thin. The lines would be too big. I bet it would break if I dropped one. I will try not to find out. None of them broke. Even though you have to use a rubber band to keep it closed, it comes with an awesome case to keep them in. It was easy to take off. The markings are either on the opposite side or sewn in, so they won't be seen. I will buy again when I run out.

3. Mary Ellen Products Alternative 600BP 63

Mary Ellen Products Alternative 600BP 63

It is recommended for all fabrics. Don't use on materials labeled "Dry Clean Only." Made in the USA. Mary Ellen's Best Press Clear Starch Alternative 16oz Linen Fresh is included in the prices. The dimensions are 8 in. H x 2.5 in. W x 3 in. D. It was made in the United States.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤Simply the best. I like the smell of Caribbean Beach and how it lightly strains my fabric when sewing. I spray my fabric before cutting it out. I spray when pressing seams.

👤I can't live without this item, I've never used it before. It's amazing.

4. Mary Ellen Products 60041 1 Startch

Mary Ellen Products 60041 1 Startch

Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles. The product is manufactured in the US.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤It makes it easier to get the perfect blocks. The secent was the only draw back. I am sensitive to perfumes. I can still smell the secent even though it is very light. I don't know if there is a way to percise without a sent, but I would love it if they did. The smell is great for my kids. I do have a mild reaction to it. I still use it, but make sure I have a fan on.

👤My mom is an avid quilter so I got this for her. She was working on cutting out squares for a quilt when she was complaining about having to buy small bottles. She just has to refill her scurtis and leave.

👤This product is the best for quilt making. I mix with water and a few drops of essential oils and go to town on the most stubborn quilt seams. I can store pressed blocks for a long time without worry about pests. And it works! Like magic! I'm on my second gallon. There are no regrets.

👤I have been making small blocks of quilt for a while, but just started making a Farmer's Wife quilt that had many triangles and other precision pieces. A friend suggested I try something. It was easy to get a hold of spray starch from the grocery store. It helped me keep the tips of my triangles crisp. In a month, I got through 2 ironing board covers and a new iron. I was always running out of food. I found Best Press after doing some research. I started with a small bottle. It was easy to use and kept my ironing board covers clean. I keep a back up gallon in the closet. I can't quilt without it. If you are using Best Press to give body to thinner fabrics, like lawns of voiles, it is very useful. Remember to use a product like this before cutting your pieces and making quilt blocks. If you do it after you cut your pieces, you can cause fabrics to shrink or distort, which can cause puckering.

👤This stuff is great. I am trying to remove the wrinkling from the cotton. I have tried the hottest setting on my iron with steam, sprayed water directly on the fabric, and then ironing the same spot over and over, and ironing right after removing from the dryer. There were stillwrinkles in the fabric, no matter what I tried. I saw this product on a video and decided to try it myself. I am angry! I sprayed my fabric and hit it with the iron, which completely wiped out thewrinkles. I will never use this stuff again.

👤I use this to stiffen my fabrics. When working with fabric that has been cut in the bias, the use of the starch keeps them from stretching. The scent free version is what I like the most.

👤Best Press is the best product for pressing. It has its advantages even though it is expensive. It doesn't mess up the ironing plate because it doesn't have a tendency to do so. I don't have to purchase a product to clean my ironing plate because of this. I would like to comment on Amazon replacing the jug quickly and without fuss. Customer service is still important. Thank you.

5. Mary Ellen Products Lavender Vanilla

Mary Ellen Products Lavender Vanilla

The package is 5.25 inches in width. Mary Ellens Best Press is lavender. Mary Ellens Best Press is lavender. Mary Ellen's Best Press has a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent that makes ironing more enjoyable. The package is 8.25 inches in H, 2.5 inches in L, and 2.5 inches in W.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤If you have a steam iron that holds water, you can save money and use that against this stuff, because it is water with a faint fragrant scent. It was a big waste of money to over priced for fragranced water. After ironing my clothes, I left them soaking wet because I didn't get out thewrinkle. If you plan on ironing your clothes before leaving to go somewhere, leave plenty of time for your clothes to dry after using this product because it is messy and leaves your clothes wet. The bottle was half empty after ironing my blouse. Don't buy this product unless you like spending 15 bucks for fragrant water that leaves clothing soaking wet.

👤Fix your listing to correct your mistake. The spray bottle that I bought was clearly shown for that size. I ordered a spray bottle. Not a small bottle.

👤I enjoy ironing. The smell makes me relax as I am ironing. It works great for ironing my quilt blocks. It doesn't take a lot of spray to work. You don't want to leave spray dots on your fabric.

👤Poor advertising earned 2 stars. The best press is great! The sprayer pictured is not included in the package. I would have ordered a refill if I didn't want the sprayer.

👤This product would help with ironing and sewing. The iron glides across the fabric, but it also removes the wrinkling and smells great.

👤I use this all of the time to remove the wrinkled fabric. It works well and slows down freying. I use it on clothes when pressing and it is very light. This scent is my favorite.

👤I usually avoid ironing, but I thought I would try this. I'm a total convert. It makes a difference and my clothes look great.

👤I absolutely love this product. It's especially helpful in my Needlework business, where I can count on it to get tough wrinkling from linen fabric.

👤The product removes all the creases from the fabric without leaving a sticky mark on the fabric. The smell is nice without being overpowering.

👤The product is great and the price is great. Thank you.

👤It does smell good, but not like the type of starch I am 800-273-3217

6. Aleenes 15581 Stiffen Quick Fabric Stiffening

Aleenes 15581 Stiffen Quick Fabric Stiffening

Curls can be refreshed with theFunctional Squirt Water Sprayer. It's great for home and salon uses. The Stiffen-Quik formula dries clear so it won't tarnish your piece, and you can spray more coats when you want a heavier shaping. It's a good idea to wash it out and make a new piece. There is an 8oz pump spray bottle. The spray component is included.

Brand: Aleene's

👤This isn't like it makes a fabric stronger than a wood. If you like me, you should look for something that helps a fabric stand on its own, not something that gives it some strength.

👤I bought this for macrame. I have been using it for a few days. I have to leave a review since it is a pretty penny to spend on stiffener. The piece in the picture is densely knotted. It won't make it hold straight or anything, but it will give a protective barrier for the cotton. I expected it to work with the macrame feathers. It doesn't work on loose strands. I sprayed from a distance and the piece lost its shape. I had to brush and cut again, and it was like nothing had been sprayed. I will be using it to finish a knotted piece, but not to "stiff" up any of my loose strands.

👤This was what I needed. I had no idea how I was going to make the blouse work. I lived on the wild side and didn't even cover my table before spraying it with the product, but it was damp and I didn't want to ruin it. I dried it with a hair dryer and the fabric was stiff. It was perfect! I had no problems with my machine, except for a few places where I accidentally applied the product and it was too slippery. I had some problems after my machine and needle protested. The difference was made by Stiffen Quik. I will use this product again when I sew. The blouse is back to it's slinky texture after it was washed out.

👤My nephew's wife loves how this stuff makes the hairbows look like they are made for her little girl. She says they are worse than the ones her mom makes. I shared my secret so Ellen could make bows too. Down in the South, the bows are as big as the tea. They need to have a little speed. We can't have limp bows here. It's a good thing. Depending on how much "sturdy" is required for a particular bow, you can spray a little or a lot. Let it dry and shape it. If you get too much "sturdy" going on, you can always deflate it.

👤I need this to make the sun hat brims stiff again. It worked well. I don't think it will last long, but I'm glad I have my sun hats. I was worried that it would have a strong smell. Either it didn't. I applied it outside on the patiio table.

👤It is so easy to use. The blow dry method made it easy to shape hair bows.

👤If you have a large project, get a better spray bottle. If you don't use it all in one sitting, you should rinse out the sprayer and store it in a way that it won't work again. It did a few coats on the bowls.

👤I bought this to make my straw beach hat fit better, as packing had given it a floppy brim and collapsed crown. I shaped the crown by hand after spraying it liberally and stuffing it lightly with a plastic bag. It should be dry for 30 minutes. The crown was lightly set. The floppy brim was sprayed inside and out until it was soaked, then set over the corner of the patio table so it would curve downward over the face. After spraying it a couple more times, it held it's shape. The bottle is still full, but the hat is nicer. It worked because of the great value.

7. Mary Ellen Products 60131 33 8 Ounce

Mary Ellen Products 60131 33 8 Ounce

There is a single product that has both shir and sysi in it. No Flaking even on dark fabrics. Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I've tried many different things while pressing, all with pros and cons. I finally decided to try Best Press, which is one of the best sprays for pressing, and I'm pleasantly surprised. It doesn't leave a weird coating on the fabric, but firms up the fabric just enough to where you can better handle the pieces. I've never had issues with shininess, flaking or scorching, and I can't think of any negatives about the stuff other than its price, which is a little more than I'd like to pay, but sometimes you pay for quality. I don't think I'll ever go back to other agents after ordering my second "jug" of it. I love the smell of peaches and cream.

👤I picked up a spray bottle of this at my local JoAnns and I love it. The refill bottle smells great too. It makes it easier to work with and gives fabric a nice crisp finish. There was no flaky stuff on the finished projects.

👤I heard that this would help with pressing. The scent on this one is really nice, and it's been helpful to have the fabric a bit stiffer when it's pieced, especially on bias cut pieces.

👤My favorite product. It might have a nice scent if you have to iron it. If you want to make it stretch farther, you should buy a bottle that is not scented, or at least half and half.

👤It makes ironing and quilting much simpler. The scent of love. Make it smell good.

👤This is great. Does not leave marks on your fabric. It gives you a crisp, but not stiff feel. Excellent fresh fragrences. I am going through a press. I don't think I'll go back to using sizing again. The best place to get this product is through Amazon. Thank you Amazon!

👤My friends have been trying to get me to use this product. My can of starch was cheap. I got my first bottle. I will never go back to the old way of life. A misted fabric is all that is needed. My iron glides.

👤Went back to the smell.

8. Mary Ellens 128 Ounce Gallon Lavender

Mary Ellens 128 Ounce Gallon Lavender

The product is manufactured in the US. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I like the scent of this product and it's my favorite scent, but the other ones are nice as well. It doesn't leave the white remnants on the fabric like other starches do. I use it with my steamer. I ran out and went to many stores to find this product. I got a huge refill so it will last. I can use this refill to press many clothes and sewing projects. Very happy!

👤We decided that the best way to iron is to use the ironing board and not the steam irons. You can sprinkle or spray water on the lavender scented sizing product, then iron it. This way you don't have to put up with steam irons spotting your clothes as you iron, all irons that you add water to use will give you this problem, so stop using the steam option.

👤Mary Ellen has the best ironing spray. Many years. Amazon sold it in gallon containers. I am a master seamstress. I use this spray to iron the seams. Press them open. I sew. Mary Ellen's can be used to make the fabric smooth and smell fresh. It is not a vegetable. It is better for the fabric. Not thick or sticky. It's perfect for my ironing needs.

👤I like to use this to crisp up the fabric before sewing it. It makes it easier. You can make it as crisp as you want. It is important to keep the edges from fraying as much as possible because the thread count is not very high. A little makes a big difference.

👤I like the lavender scent of Best Press. It doesn't leave any marks after stiffening the fabric. It helps for accurate cutting. I get it by the gallon because of the price.

👤I've been sewing for a long time. I use a water spray bottle instead of putting water in my iron. I would buy spray starch when I wanted to make something. It always smelled clean. Best Press was discovered by me. I don't know why I bought it. Works well. My favorite scent is lavender. Two years ago, I bought my daughter a bottle to drink from as she was learning to sew. It comes in a gallon so I can refill my sprayer. I hope Mary Ellen makes the lavender scent.

👤Mary Ellen's Best Pressed has been used by me for a while. It was hard to find a good price in store. The value is great. This is a non-sticky, non-flaking substance. I have a lot of summer linen and it does a great job and the lavender scent is light, not overpowering. My husband does his ironing. I'm a lucky woman. He loves it too. It's great to stiffen up your work. I love this stuff!

👤I've been using Mary Ellen's for a long time. I used to buy it at the fabric store for a much higher price than what you can find on Amazon. I do a lot of sewing. This stuff is great as a substitute for starch. It's difficult to remove the folds. I wish it worked on my face. There was no iron build up. I'm buying it by the gallon. The lavender has a light scent that doesn't leave a heavy perfume on ironing board.

9. Mary Ellen Products Alternative 16 Ounce

Mary Ellen Products Alternative 16 Ounce

The formula is free of fragrances. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US. The package has dimensions of 20.573 L x 7.62 H x 11.176 W.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤Mary Ellen sprays have been purchased by me a number of times. I like that I can change the scent of the quilt at any time. I've tried many of them and I can't think of one that I didn't like.

👤Mary Ellen's Starch has been ordered 3 times. I like her product. Mary Ellen's product does not leave any white stains on my clothes. She has a wonderful scent and will continue to use it.

👤I use this for everyday laundry and other projects. You should give it a try. It is very good.

👤The product description said that the product came in a spray bottle, which is why I bought it. There was no sprayer when I received it. I had to put it in a bottle. Completely defeated the purpose. I'm not happy. It works well.

👤Fantastic! Everything claims to be true. It works well. It smells even better.

👤This is the best way to keep your doors open. I have to clean my iron more often.

10. June Tailor Starch Savvy Trigger

June Tailor Starch Savvy Trigger

The package weight is 1.0 pounds. It creates flatter seams and better point alignment. The comfortabletrigger allows for broad application of the product. There is no fragrance and a flaky surface.

Brand: June Tailor

👤I expected more for my money. It worked like a regular spray. I stopped using this product because it didn't feel right while ironing my quilt, but I found a different product that did the job. I think it is a great product. I didn't think it worked for me. Will try it on other projects. I am so sorry.

👤I've used Best Press before and it blows this out of the water. It was really impressed. It has a good amount of starch. I stopped using Best Press because it left weird stains. I don't think this stuff is a good value since Best Press is cheaper. Even though it's more expensive, I'll keep buying it.

👤Good product. If you are making a pieced twin quilt you will need 2 to 3 bottles. I should have bought a second bottle of spray for my twin size quilt, I was very conservative with it. It is not white. I have never used a product like this before. It makes your seams look nice, but it doesn't make your fabric stiff. Just buy enough.

👤I decided to try this brand because I know some experienced quilters who recommended it. Although it works well, I didn't see a huge improvement over the kind I've purchased at Walmart. The bottle was not full when I received it. I will order this product online again.

👤I use Best Press a lot and needed something to stiffen the fabric. This spray is not enough for me.

👤This made ironing and sewing easy. I have bought other products, but they are not as good.

👤If you're sewing or quilt, this stuff is great. I highly recommend you.

👤Not commenting on the product itself. It is ridiculous to receive a shipment with a bottle that is less than one quarterer.

👤The product is brilliant, have used it for many years, and it is one of my 2 favourite products, it leaves fabrics smooth, and it is great to Quilt and wear, no residuals, the service was great, and it was a very Big Plus in my book. June Tailor is the creator of this product, many thanks to him.

👤I use a lot of starch in this product and it's too expensive, but it's not worse than the cheaper brand I was using. I don't think it's worth paying more for the name if money is no object.

👤It is quite expensive. Cheaper products can be used with care. The product does not leave a mark but it does not build up a firm fabric as it used to. It is a trusted product and I continue to use it.

👤It does what it says. It makes sewing pieces together much easier. It is addictive. I went through two bottles too quickly.

👤I have a wardrobe of crinkle shirts that don't crinkle when I twist and dry them. This has worked. The clothes are perfect.

11. Hobbs HF90 Batting Heirloom Premium

Hobbs HF90 Batting Heirloom Premium

It's versaTILE! Mister Mist spray bottles can spray upside down for 3 seconds. It's handy for curly hair. Their spray bottle is made of a good plastic and has a good Eco Profile so it is safe for spraying pets and kids on hot summer days. Don't settle for misery mist, try the Mister Mist 5-Pack today! It's great for any project. You can complete your project with batting and fill. The pre-cut was sold in a box. The package is 15 inches in H, 24.3 inches in L, and 14.5 inches in W.

Brand: Hobbs

👤Both sides had a problem. It's good! I put the quilt on the bed sheet. The face is backing down with batting. I used the iron as directed. To spend a couple of hours crawling on the floor, you should have an extension cord. Press 10 seconds per spot. Don't move iron back and forth. It was necessary to use a pressing cloth on the edges and corners to keep the hot iron plate from getting stuck. It worked well. Do both sides. Two quilts have been finished. Very happy.

👤I struggle with sandwiching my layers in small quilts. I decided to give this a try because my local store no longer carries another brand of iron on batting. Very pleased with the results. I have tied and quilted using this batting. I haven't hand-quilted yet. The odor of the glue is dissipated when it is heated. You can adjust and tug on the glue if you need to.

👤This is a game-changer for me. There were no puckers on the back of my quilt. If you pay attention to what you do, you will be able to take your time and get the job done.

👤I thought I'd try this because I no longer have a large work space to layout my quilts. It works great, I was very happy to do it. I only make small quilts so they are easy to use and hold together. I can't say how easy it is to work with larger quilts, but a laptop up to twin sizes works great.

👤It works well, but the folds distort it a bit. It's hard to separate the layers. It is worth the effort once you work with it.

👤This product was very disappointing. It sounded like a great product. The product was not usable for my project after it was stretched out from the packaging. It is difficult to lay it flat. I wouldn't recommend this product. I can't return it outside the time window. It is expensive to learn.

👤I was hoping that this batting could replace my old method of using spray glue to adhere the backing to the batting and the pieced top before sewing. I did a test swatch and it was not strong. It was held in place. The backing became wrinkled and hours of unpicking were required to keep it from shifting. The whole quilt sandwich process would have been easier with this product. I will never use this product again.

👤I liked this batting. I have already ordered more and would buy it again.
