1. Heavy Starch FAULTLESS MfrPartNo 20722

Heavy Starch FAULTLESS MfrPartNo 20722

ironing is more enjoyable with a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent. A non-aerosol bottle. The unit of measure is 20 Oz. Buy in bulk and save. Brought to you by faultless

Brand: Faultless

👤I've found the best startch for many applications. I had to order it online because I couldn't afford it locally. The package arrived with startch in a larger box, the cap was damaged, and the startcg leaked all over. It's a pity. If it can be found in the area, I think it's better to get it.

👤I bought this for a floppy hat that was floppy. It worked well on one of the canvas hats with a shorter brim, but the longer one needed more. I don't work in environments that require a pressed shirt, so I'm not sure what I'll use the starch for, but it may be good for crafting. It doesn't leave any trace.

👤I bought this to stiffen my sunhats. I'm not having luck getting the sunhats back to their original condition, even though this is better than regular starch.

👤The product is only used once for appliqué. The company refunded my money even though the cap was broken. I keep a piece of plastic wrap over the product. It was nice of the company to do that.

👤I stiffened my Grandmother's handkerchiefs to make bookmarks. It works well and she is excited to use it to make other crafts.

👤It's a bit too heavy for my clothes.

👤It's convenient to show details such as the EGA on your cover.

👤Very fast delivery. It works like magic. This was a huge help. Will purchase again.

👤The product is fraudulent. Did not have the nozzle head. When I used a nozzle from my old bottle, there was only water coming out. I should have opened the package after it arrived.

👤I have been using this spray for a while. When I opened the can this time, the starch was only being discharged as a liquid and thus ruining the clothes. The return window has also closed and I have a useless product.

👤A shirt can be made in a few minutes. Nice scent too. Been using for over 10 years. Does not use the hot iron.

👤It makes ironing clothes easy. It would be great if it was always available on Amazon.

👤The bottle was almost empty. The replacement package had the same problem.

2. Terial ArtsTerial Magic Fabric Spray

Terial ArtsTerial Magic Fabric Spray

ironing is more enjoyable with a clear crisp starch with a lovely scent. A non-aerosol bottle. The bottle has a refill of 32oz. You get 48 ounces. It is easy to cut and sew fabric art. You can use single ply fabric as a medium to create beautiful multidimensional art. It's easy to sew with machine or hand. It works well with hot glue gun or quick grabs glues and can be washed out of fabric later. It was made in the USA.

Brand: Terial Arts

👤I saw this stuff on a demo for a site that I like. I decided to give it a try since I usually use embroidered puckers. I made a relatively complex design that would usually be hard to read, but it was very smooth and easy to understand. I used fabric spray to hold things in place, but I don't think that alone would have turned out as well. It was easy to use. I will definitely buy this stuff again when I run out.

👤I was hesitant about trying it. I checked the size of the quilt blocks, but they didn't fit in my hand. My blocks were not 61/2. I decided to try out some of them. The issue was solved. The fabric was almost like paper because I made it last longer. The cuts were clean and the sewing was great. There was no gunk on the iron or needle. I washed my test block to make sure it was soft. Great product. It was worth the extra step in the process.

👤I was very impressed. I usually use the least amount possible by placing a small amount of fabric in a baggie and spray, iron and then use the hoop without stabilizer.

👤The need to use freezer paper in order to run cotton fabric through the printer was eliminated by Terial Magic. I make spirit dolls with inspiring quotes and it's easy to print them on the fabric.

👤I do a lot of machine work. This product stiffens the fabric so not as much stabilizer is needed. I highly recommend it.

👤This didn't work for the prints.

👤I have used magic for many things. I made 3D flowers on a quilt using treated fabric. I wrapped twine around a pencil to dry. I used the curls as an adornment on pumpkins I made last fall. I love it!

👤It's great for stabilizing fabric. It's great for hemstitching.

3. Mary Ellen Products 60041 1 Startch

Mary Ellen Products 60041 1 Startch

Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles. The product is manufactured in the US.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤It makes it easier to get the perfect blocks. The secent was the only draw back. I am sensitive to perfumes. I can still smell the secent even though it is very light. I don't know if there is a way to percise without a sent, but I would love it if they did. The smell is great for my kids. I do have a mild reaction to it. I still use it, but make sure I have a fan on.

👤My mom is an avid quilter so I got this for her. She was working on cutting out squares for a quilt when she was complaining about having to buy small bottles. She just has to refill her scurtis and leave.

👤This product is the best for quilt making. I mix with water and a few drops of essential oils and go to town on the most stubborn quilt seams. I can store pressed blocks for a long time without worry about pests. And it works! Like magic! I'm on my second gallon. There are no regrets.

👤I have been making small blocks of quilt for a while, but just started making a Farmer's Wife quilt that had many triangles and other precision pieces. A friend suggested I try something. It was easy to get a hold of spray starch from the grocery store. It helped me keep the tips of my triangles crisp. In a month, I got through 2 ironing board covers and a new iron. I was always running out of food. I found Best Press after doing some research. I started with a small bottle. It was easy to use and kept my ironing board covers clean. I keep a back up gallon in the closet. I can't quilt without it. If you are using Best Press to give body to thinner fabrics, like lawns of voiles, it is very useful. Remember to use a product like this before cutting your pieces and making quilt blocks. If you do it after you cut your pieces, you can cause fabrics to shrink or distort, which can cause puckering.

👤This stuff is great. I am trying to remove the wrinkling from the cotton. I have tried the hottest setting on my iron with steam, sprayed water directly on the fabric, and then ironing the same spot over and over, and ironing right after removing from the dryer. There were stillwrinkles in the fabric, no matter what I tried. I saw this product on a video and decided to try it myself. I am angry! I sprayed my fabric and hit it with the iron, which completely wiped out thewrinkles. I will never use this stuff again.

👤I use this to stiffen my fabrics. When working with fabric that has been cut in the bias, the use of the starch keeps them from stretching. The scent free version is what I like the most.

👤Best Press is the best product for pressing. It has its advantages even though it is expensive. It doesn't mess up the ironing plate because it doesn't have a tendency to do so. I don't have to purchase a product to clean my ironing plate because of this. I would like to comment on Amazon replacing the jug quickly and without fuss. Customer service is still important. Thank you.

4. Oxford Wells 2 Ounce Premium Ironing

Oxford Wells 2 Ounce Premium Ironing

There is no fragrance and a flaky surface. The spray is infused with a clean scent to keep your fabrics fresh. It's perfect for travel and hotel stays. Non-Aerosol ironing spray is made with no harmful propellants. There was no animal testing. That perfect finish is provided by the scientifically engineered travel ironing spray starch. Protects fabric and helps to resist wrinkling. Will not be streak or spot. It is recommended for all fabrics. Don't use on materials labeled "Dry Clean Only." Made in the USA.

Brand: Oxford & Wells

👤Oxford and Wells. The name evokes the persona of a butler assistant laying out your perfectly tailored outfit for the day. Sometimes a name is conjured for marketing purposes but doesn't connect to the product's origin or function. Think of ice cream from the movie, Haagen Dazs. It was founded in New York. This is almost one of those times, as the manufacturer is based in Texas and isn't a British firm. No matter. Their product functions in a way that is "properly" as the name implies. I enjoy ironing because of a weird genetic malfunction. It would be great to have the crisp and precise pressing reserved for those taking the time to do it correctly themselves and not knocked out, production-line piece work style. This is the best product I've ever used. The shirts don't come out like cardboard or just driving to work. There's a long lasting finish. Most products that serve this function do not have a white flaking and caking routine. I looked at their website to see if they have a secret formula. Corn starch is the main ingredient. Go figure. If you're going to iron your own, you should spend a little more money on this product. I was swayed by the reviews and now I agree. Very happy.

👤It's perfect for business travelers to take with them and prepare their dress clothes at the destination. One bottle will allow me to press all the clothes for a 3-4 day trip. It was small enough to not have leftover quantities.

👤I put the nozzle in my spray bottle because it streamed not sprayed. And it got stuck! I added water to it. It was better. It's not what I was looking for. I don't want to mix things up. I bought travel sizes because of this. I needed to know if I liked it or not. I won't be buying it again.

👤I stopped getting ready for work because I was so impressed with this starch. So I could get an iPad and submit a review. The small bottle size is my reason for choosing this, I needed a way to bring starch with me to look sharp on business trips. The small size is tsa compliant and perfect for my bag. I didn't have high expectations because the size was good. It smells great, it sprays on evenly, and my shirts look very sharp, but I first used it today and it was amazing. I bought this item for travel convenience and I'm likely to use it for my home starch as well. Very, very highly recommended.

👤It's perfect for travel. We spent a week in Las Vegas over Christmas and packed bottles in each bag. It worked well on clothes because of no problems with flying. I would recommend it if I could convince her to leave the mirror at home.

👤These are great to keep in a suitcase. The smell of the liquid is clean and does not leak from the inside of the aircraft. It has a medium hold on clothing, not as stiff as I'd like it to be, but it still does the job.

5. Mary Ellen Products Alternative Lavender

Mary Ellen Products Alternative Lavender

I am a US seller and customer service is my top priority. Love it or your money back. Not satisfied, get a full refund. If you receive a breakable triangle tailors chalk set, please contact them. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I don't like the fact that this darkened some of my fabric, and the fabric doesn't get very starchy even when completely soaked. I was expecting a pleasant lavender smell, but it just smells like cheap soap. I don't recommend this product. I was researching alternatives because I needed to stiffen up some fabric I was working on and this was not doing the job very well. Take 1 part cheap vodka and save some money. You have perfect spray starch with 2 parts water. If you iron out until the fabric is completely dry, you will get stiff fabric that is not too stiff.

👤I thought I was buying the product in a spray bottle. I would have bought a more economical size if I had known it was a refill. I have to get a spray bottle before I can use it. The product is not as pictured.

👤I don't like ironing. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I iron. After going through my closet, I realized that I have a lot of clothes that I love but can't wear because they are wrinkled. In the mornings, I am usually rushing to get to work, so I don't have time to iron in the morning. In some cases I would use the wet washcloth, wrinkled item and 5 minute dyer method, which is not always very effective. I need a nice starch that will assist in ironing. I decided to give it a try after reading some of the reviews. I am so happy that I did. The product is like ironing aroma therapy for me. I took the night before to iron various items so that I could wear them whenever I needed them. I like the scent. It is a very sweet scent. It helps to get rid of the stubborn wrinkling in my clothes. Being the anti-iron person, ironing has become a fun chore. I was worried about spotting since the purple color of the starch was not clear. I have not had any issues with the purple tint on my clothes. I had an issue with it spotting one of my dresses. It wasn't a big deal, but I had to keep an eye on it. I really like this product. I bought a few bottles of the product and will keep buying it. I am taking away a star because of the spotting issue on one of my dresses. I would like to see a clear non-tinted version of the lavender scent, but it is what it is. Pros: 1. You wouldn't get rid of stubbornwrinkles by ironing dry. 2. The lavender scent in my clothes makes them smell fresh and clean. 3. It makes ironing fun. The cons are 1. It could leave spotting on some fabric types. The spotting washed out. 2. It would be nice if the starch was clear and not purple.

👤During the Pandemic, I began to quilt. I was upset when my go-to starch, which I have been using since college, put burnt marks all over my iron that would release itself all over a white fabric I was using in my latest quilting project. I decided to try this alternative after reading rave reviews. I'm glad I did. I used a Dritz product to remove the burnt stains on my iron before using the alternative. I like this product. I have been ironing a lot and I don't have any more burnt starch on my iron. There are no particles. It is not the same product as a normal grocery store spray. I don't feel the starchy type hold until it dries, unlike my old one. I'm not sure why anyone would give a one-star review for this product. The product is supposed to be sprayed. I don't like the scent. It isn't bad, but it smells like lavender. There is a lavender bush in front of my house. I know what lavender smells like and when a product says it is lavender scented, it smells like lavender. This product does not. I have also purchased linen scent and it doesn't smell like typical linen scented products. The smell is not bad. The company definitely needs help with scent. If you are sewing and ironing a lot, you need the product.

6. Mary Ellens Refills Ounces Tea Garden

Mary Ellens Refills Ounces Tea Garden

It works well with hot glue gun or quick grabs glues and can be washed out of fabric later. It was made in the USA.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤Do you want your clothes to get stuck in your iron? I'm learning to love this product after my fellow sewists turned me on.

👤I heard great things about this stuff, so I wanted to love it. I broke out in a rash when I sprayed my arm while ironing. The smell burned my lungs. I think I'm too sensitive to this scent. I didn't find that it stiffened up my fabric, and when I used it on a piece of white fabric, it actually stained it. I tried to use the spray pattern on the piece of fabric, but it was all over it.

👤The best press is the best. You'll love this if you sew or do other things. They disappear when they are sprayed on. It has a clean finish without the rigidity of starch. It's an essential part of my life.

👤This had no scent. The seal was broken. I don't know if I will use it. It is most likely just pink water.

👤I use this for other reasons. It's not a big deal to leave a fabric smell with a hot iron. It is convenient to have a consistent supply delivered to my door.

👤People who have used this before will agree. You spray lightly onto your fabric, then iron it, and it leaves a nice pressed/crisp feel. It's worth the extra money you spend compared to what you get at the store. You need less and use less when it comes out in a fine mist.

👤It smelled great. It didn't compare to spraying water on my clothes when I iron.

7. JUNE TAILOR INC JT 450 QUILTERS

JUNE TAILOR INC JT 450 QUILTERS

It was made in the United States. The Needle ArtsQUILTER'S STARCH 1 GALLON.

Brand: June Tailor, Inc.

👤After washing and drying the fabric, spray a light mist, iron and you will see how Starch Savvy leaves the fabric looking great.

8. Mary Ellens 128 Ounce Gallon Lavender

Mary Ellens 128 Ounce Gallon Lavender

The product is manufactured in the US. The product is free of scent. The product is manufactured in the US.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I like the scent of this product and it's my favorite scent, but the other ones are nice as well. It doesn't leave the white remnants on the fabric like other starches do. I use it with my steamer. I ran out and went to many stores to find this product. I got a huge refill so it will last. I can use this refill to press many clothes and sewing projects. Very happy!

👤We decided that the best way to iron is to use the ironing board and not the steam irons. You can sprinkle or spray water on the lavender scented sizing product, then iron it. This way you don't have to put up with steam irons spotting your clothes as you iron, all irons that you add water to use will give you this problem, so stop using the steam option.

👤Mary Ellen has the best ironing spray. Many years. Amazon sold it in gallon containers. I am a master seamstress. I use this spray to iron the seams. Press them open. I sew. Mary Ellen's can be used to make the fabric smooth and smell fresh. It is not a vegetable. It is better for the fabric. Not thick or sticky. It's perfect for my ironing needs.

👤I like to use this to crisp up the fabric before sewing it. It makes it easier. You can make it as crisp as you want. It is important to keep the edges from fraying as much as possible because the thread count is not very high. A little makes a big difference.

👤I like the lavender scent of Best Press. It doesn't leave any marks after stiffening the fabric. It helps for accurate cutting. I get it by the gallon because of the price.

👤I've been sewing for a long time. I use a water spray bottle instead of putting water in my iron. I would buy spray starch when I wanted to make something. It always smelled clean. Best Press was discovered by me. I don't know why I bought it. Works well. My favorite scent is lavender. Two years ago, I bought my daughter a bottle to drink from as she was learning to sew. It comes in a gallon so I can refill my sprayer. I hope Mary Ellen makes the lavender scent.

👤Mary Ellen's Best Pressed has been used by me for a while. It was hard to find a good price in store. The value is great. This is a non-sticky, non-flaking substance. I have a lot of summer linen and it does a great job and the lavender scent is light, not overpowering. My husband does his ironing. I'm a lucky woman. He loves it too. It's great to stiffen up your work. I love this stuff!

👤I've been using Mary Ellen's for a long time. I used to buy it at the fabric store for a much higher price than what you can find on Amazon. I do a lot of sewing. This stuff is great as a substitute for starch. It's difficult to remove the folds. I wish it worked on my face. There was no iron build up. I'm buying it by the gallon. The lavender has a light scent that doesn't leave a heavy perfume on ironing board.

9. Mary Ellen Products Press Starch

Mary Ellen Products Press Starch

New finish, makes clothes resistant to soil, and makes fabrics look new. There is a single product that has both shir and sysi in it. No Flaking even on dark fabrics. Relaxes Stubborn Wrinkles.

Brand: Mary Ellen Products

👤I tried it on some of my blocks in my current quilt after people rave about it. I didn't like the smell. It doesn't smell fresh to me but it is subjective. I can't tolerate that it caused my fabrics to bleed. Not on all of the blocks, but a lot on one block. I need to recreate this block to continue with my quilt. So sad. I prefer spray starch from the grocery store. The blocks are so rigid that they could stand on their own. I like that. No stretching. My fabrics were not rigid. I guess this is what they mean when other quilters say it gives them a nice hand. Not my preference.

👤Why wouldn't you picture a sprayer next to a bottle, but not mention that it doesn't come with it? Very disappointing. I saw someone ask the question and about 6 people said yes. The reviews have to be different for different products. I have used the product for a long time, but you need a sprayer.

👤You pay a premium price for this product because it leaves spot blotches on your clothes when you use it as spray starch. I will not order or use this product again.

👤This was the second time I tried to order this item. I tried to recognize some of the delivery challenges in the current climate after it was canceled for the first time. I can't use it until I find my own sprayer or return it and try again, because it arrived with no spray nozzle, the second time I ordered it. There are two versions of the sprayer: a refill version and a sprayer version. I ordered a sprayer. Very disappointed.

👤The product looked like it would work. When I iron over the shirt, I spray a little on it. This product stained my shirts. I didn't iron over it for long because I didn't want it to look like a 800-361-3020 I tried to get the stain to dry off, but it wasn't to be. I hope that someone who loves this product will say I did something wrong. I followed the directions on the bottle that I read. I have ruined most of my shirts because of that. I dumped it and threw it away. It cost me a lot of money. Not taking another chance.

👤Many products claim they don't flake, but they do. Mary Ellen's Best Press is up to the task. I was skeptical until I tried it, and it worked. If you like stiff and crisp dress clothes, you might not like this product. You will need a lot of heavy starch for that. I think the body is the same as that of size, but without the peeling. The Linen Fresh scent is light and pleasant, but I don't know how I would like the other scents. I'm sold on this stuff. It's more expensive than other items, but it does what it says it does and that makes it worth it. The gallon size will be my next purchase.

10. Jacksons Woodworks 3pc Tailors Clapper

Jacksons Woodworks 3pc Tailors Clapper

The part is called Manufacturer Part No. It was made from a piece of Red Oak.

Brand: Jacksons Woodworks

👤I ordered the large quilters pressing block to see if they were as good as I had heard. Excellent product! Help to give a good seam press. I ordered a set of three.

👤These clippers are great for quilting. The seams are set to stay crisp. With or without steam.

👤I use these clappers every day. The seams of my patchwork are much easier to match now.

👤After ironing, the fabric would lay flat. My quilt blocks are flat, the woodblocks are awesome and do what they are suppose to.

👤These are amazing! I used one on the pockets and they stayed flat. Someone knew something that could work. It is easy to use. It was made in the USA. I keep those seams pressed to the side when I quilt. I use them all the time. They are worth every cent.

👤Can't complain about the shipping method. It took two weeks to get from Indiana to Michigan. Thanks to the postal service.

👤The oak is a nice touch and they work well. You can keep moving if the ironing fabric finish is done right. The point, the ham holder, and the thing that looks like an anvil are accessories that I enjoy.

👤It's a game-changer when sewing quilt tops and blocks.

11. Cottage Mills Color Evaulator Filter

Cottage Mills Color Evaulator Filter

It is recommended for all fabrics. Don't use on materials labeled "Dry Clean Only." Made in the USA. There are two filters, one red and one green. It is made of plastic. There are two filters, one red and one green. It is made of plastic.

Brand: Cottage Mills

👤In a pinch, these are helpful. Sometimes the simplicity is a relief in itself, but there are filters with cellphones that would do the same thing. Take it out and look at it from different angles. It is neat and not a necessity, but at the same time it is worth having on hand to take a quick looksey.

👤The two transparent plastic strips are useful in determining light and dark values for an art project. The strips are made of a thick plastic that feels like glass. The values are shown on the strip when it is placed over a subject. The red strip is used for warm colors. You can use the green for cool colors. You can use this method if you hold one of the strips in front of the subject material. Sometimes it is necessary to close one eye. The areas that are the most dark become the most dark in your final project. The areas viewed as being lightest will be the lightest in your finished work. And mid-values... I find them useful when painting in the field. I've been surprised a few times by what the filter showed, but my eye can pick out the dark areas. If nothing else, it confirms the choices you've already made. An artist friend of mine has an old pair of eyeglasses that he uses to paint portraits. He doesn't wear them for the entire painting session because he needs to identify which areas are the lightest on the model and then reference back to his painting to confirm that. I'll use the color filters from Cottage Mills until I can find my own pair of red glasses. The fabric artist who uses a wide array of colors and fabric types needs to be able to identify the same value within each color family.

👤As an artist, we can stare at a piece for a long time and not know what to do next. It takes being able to see the values to figure out what to do next. These help with that and show the values and help you evaluate the colors you want to use. It's a useful tool to have in your studio.

👤I had trouble selecting my pastels by value because they were dark to light in some cases. The red one helped me reorganize my pastels so they are arranged by color, temperature and value now. I think I will use the green one after I find out you use it for cool colors. The process should be completed by that.

👤We are learning how to quilt. One way to achieve a look you want is by putting fabric together. The same fabric swatch is put together in different ways. It can be difficult to determine what fabric will be complimentary and what will be non-complimentary. These two pieces of plastic make the decisions more obvious by eliminating the color and seeing the fabric in a grey scale. I think theses are a bit pricey, but they are portable to a fabric store when you are on the hunt.
