👤My son-in-law is the reason I'm buying these pans. He ruined my pans by not following instructions. These are the rules for any non-stick pan that you want to keep non-stick. There was no high heat. The pans work well at both low and medium. The metal will warp and the non-stick coating will be damaged if these pans are pre-heated. Hand wash only! Automatic dishwasher detergents can ruin non-stick coating and damage certain metals. No spraying! The non-stick coating will be damaged by things like Pam. There are four There is no cold water on a hot pan. Who does that? I've seen him take a hot pan and run the cold water from the faucet on it. Really? I'm pretty sure he does that to get the grease out of the pan. Doing so will warp the metal and ruin the non-stick coating. No metal clasps! Again, who does that? I've seen a lot of things on my pans. Don't do that. Calphalon brand pans are some of the best on the market and will last years if they are treated with care and respect. I own a full set of Calphalon pots and pans. I have full confidence that everything I cook in them will turn out great, and I am very pleased with them. It was a good purchase. Five stars.

👤If you're going to use hard anodized skillets, this skillet looks wonderful. I have not been able to use mine. I've washed it by hand 4 times already, once with a nylon scrubbie sponge, and once with a towel. I assume this black stuff is going to ruin the food I cook in this pan so I haven't used it yet. Is there anyone else who has experienced the same? The manufacturer should help me out here. What is this black stuff? I have attached a picture of what is coming off the pan. It shows what I see when I rub the pan dry with my fingers. There is an update. Calphalon was more than helpful and sent me a replacement pan after I contacted them directly. I experienced the same problem with the new pan, so my review must remain the same. That's enough for me. I don't have the time or energy to deal with this further, so I'm out of the original cost as well. Does anyone know if the pans would be recycled? I don't know how to dispose of the one I have. There is a One more thing... The "black stuff" is not known. I've never put this pan in the dishwasher, but Calphalon said it was perhaps something from my dishwasher, but I was unable to identify it. shrugs>

👤Many of the reviews of this pan seem to be for a set or other product. I would prefer reviews that are specific to the item. Calphalon has been used by me for over 20 years. The price point of this pan was too low for a high quality Calphalon pan. I don't know if this is a lower quality line or the pan is malfunctioning. The pan does not evenly heat up. One half of bacon is barely cooked. I have to move the food around in the pan to keep it from burning. It is easy to clean up. I gave it 2 stars because of that. I don't know how it holds up in the dishwasher because I never put cookware in it. I am not happy with this pan. It has damaged my trust in Calphalon.

👤I wanted to cook a head of cabbage in this pan, but it wouldn't fit in my 11” pan. It did exactly what I was hoping for but I was a little nervous at first because it didn't feel as smooth as my other pans. I was hesitant about adding cheese to my pan because in the past with other pans you end up with hardened cheese on your pan forever. Not this one, that's right! When the food was plated, I immediately washed the pan and watched it slide out of the pan. I put it on the counter to cool off and then wiped it with a paper towel. After it cooled, input it away. I absolutely love this pan. I washed the lid with soap and dried it with a paper towel. I did not use soap in the pan. I don't mind cleaning my pans right away because I don't have to scrub, it's a rinse and dry process, and then do the rest after the meal.

👤I got this pan today and immediately unboxed it and started cooking. I cooked 3 large chicken breasts, 2 cups of rice, and made fried rice with this one pan. It came out perfect. I was able to fit a huge portion of fried rice in this pan. It was very easy to cook chicken and rice. Everything slid off after I washed it out. This pan is not hard to cook in. There is a The handles are very soft and thick, but they didn't get hot during this whole process. Potholders are always needed for my traditional Teflon pans. The handles look like wood, but they are not, they are bakelite, which is a formaldehyde resin. The pan is sturdy and well made. I like the look of it. It's what I wanted. I think I'll get rid of all my old ones when I buy this entire set.

Ceramic is good for a short time, but not long. The teflon pans tend to work the best for a while, but after a while the lining starts to break. T-fal are the only pans I buy. They seem to last a long time. They are a bargain, but they are non-stick and they last, even if they cost a little more.

👤I was aware of the pro's and con's of this line of All-Clad, but given the All-Clad name, it became obvious to me that this would have to be my choice in a new set. I have had non-stick cookware for 10 years and the big saute pan is getting to a point where it is not releasing at the right time. The rest of the set is just fine, but I am a little obsessive and want everything to match, not to mention that the neighbor's 18 year old is moving out and needs stuff for his apartment. The old cookware set will be given to him to get his car off the street. I bought the HA-1 4 quart saute pan first, hoping for the best. It is a heavy beast, sturdy, thick, heats up a little slower than my old set, but it does not require high settings, does not need high settings, does just fine at lower temperature settings. I will be buying every one of them for a complete set. I waited and used the HA-1 pots/pans for over 6 months before ordering more of the line. Wanted some time, washing and cooking, before investing in the HA-1 line. I own a 12 inch HA-1 Non-Stick Frying Pan. The pan is non-stick. & The 8 and 10 HA-1 were ordered. There is a combo of Frying Pans. I didn't want to like these pots/pans, but I do like them and expect that they will give me the same amount of time that I got from the previous set. The handle is brutal, it hurts to pick it up when it's full, and it will hurt your hand when heavy with contents. I think the handle is shaped that way because it accommodates a spoon resting on it with the bowl side of the spoon pointed into the pot/pan. The handle problem with this item wasSOLVED. They fit these handles to a tee, so you can lift the pot/pan with more dexterity. No more issues, done, finito. If you pull out of the oven, you're going to use a thick potholder, not for use in the oven, only on the stove top. I use a lid opener that is made ofSilicon that protects my hand from the heat. The cover of the Crucible Silicon Handle is wide enough to accommodate the spoons/utensils as well, and works well on these pots/pans, reasonably priced as well.

👤I thought I bought a product from the USA. The package is designed in the USA. I will never buy another All-Clad product because of false advertising. I hate being decieved, but All-Clad and Amazon are both guilty.

👤The pan is not malfunctioning. It's heavy duty and the grip is awkward and under-sized for the pan. After less than 5 months, the lid broke. I was told to pound sand by customer support. I wouldn't recommend just based on this experience.

👤I am not happy with these pans. They are great little pans. Little is the word. The inside surface of each of these pans is too small. The pan is only 8 inches at the bottom. The medium one is only 7unches. I thought I was buying a large pan. I got a small pan. I need to find a pan that will hold more than 2 small pancakes at a time. I was annoyed.

👤I use this skillet for almost everything, even though it's only a 12-inch version. I was looking for one with an included cover and this one is very easy to clean. The heat distribution on my gas range is a little odd but I think it's the burner. It's still a very good skillet. I don't have any cooking problems with it. I use it for most of my cooking. A cast iron skillet is the only thing better. I highly recommend this skillet if you are looking for a general purpose. I would buy other skillets from this manufacturer.

👤They call it an "everyday pan", but I call it my "everything pan". The depth is bigger than any other. I can make most dinners in this one pan. The handle grips are heat resistant up to 350 degrees and I can put it in the oven to keep it warm if I need it. The newest version of T-fal cookware is the best for heat distribution. This pan and T-fal are perfect.

The "u" shaped handle shown in the picture is not the "Knob" type handle that I would prefer. I also bought another pan from T Fal at the same time. 👤The first pan was scratched to the heavens the first night it arrived. We used it to heat a couple corn tortillas and just put them in the pan on one side and flip the other side for about 30 seconds. When we removed the tortillas low, there were scratches all over the surface. We waited for the pan to cool to room temp and then washed it with a non-abrasive sponge, but to our disappointment the scratches were still there. After one use, it's definitely not a nice sight, and we paid over fifty dollars for this pan. We returned this because we think we did nothing wrong. We did not use a utensil and flipped them by hand. The return was accepted. We replaced the same pan thinking it was a mistake. Maybe something was wrong with that pan. We used the replacement to cook eggs and other things. We used it to cook pupusas over the weekend. Soft masa dough is used to make pupusas. We heat a little oil in the pan and cook them on each side until they are crisp on the outside, but still nowhere near what you would think it would take to cook a pan. It's unbelievable. When we removed the food, it was covered in scratches. You could feel the ridge with your finger when you ran it over the scratch and the finish was already coming off in the middle. The pan was only heated to medium and never used on high heat. Medium did the job well and we found out that it can warp pans, so it wasn't needed. If it is too hot. This second pan is going to be sent back for a full refund. We will be taking our money elsewhere because we are disappointed in this OXO Pan. It's a shame because when the pan arrives it is so beautifully packaged and the shine and shimmer on that pan is so elegant, but how is this worth anything when you have to fear it scratching like this? If we were using metal utensils and trying to cook something rough, but never expected the turnout, I could understand. If you buy this pan, I hope this helps you. It's specific on what you can't cook in it.

👤If the finish hadn't degraded so quickly, this would be a five-star review. The exterior finish is great and the handle and weight are nice. The cooking surface is the only problem. We treat our skillets the same, no metal utensils, hand-wash only. The other brands have started peeling quicker than this one. We won't be buying another model of this one because it's time to replace it.

👤The product was easy to clean and non-stick. I never put metal in the dishwasher, or on it, because I followed the directions. It lasted about a year before it started peeling and cracking, and then it was useless because it was peeling up in large chunks. I had to toss it because it was getting stuck on the spatula. I thought it had a lifetime warranty. That's what led me to this. The warranty is not good. They give examples of "inappropriate use" on their site that voids the warranty. Some of the pictures are not good for cookware. "Overheating" is one of the excuses that are used to void the warranty. I think my own use would be voided on a loophole. If you want a pan that will work well for the first year, this is it. The lifetime warranty is only valid if the skillet never leaves the shelf.

👤I received the Rachel Ray pan and was excited to try it. I immediately got a bunch of scrambled eggs. It was warped from the heat when I put butter and eggs in the pan. I like my pans to sit firmly on the heat source so the food cooks evenly throughout the pan and the food doesn't slide to one side from the unlevel pan. The pan did not make it to a high heat. I don't need the pan to be level with the heat source when it is at a level bottom. I'm very sad. I'm going back to Tramontina. The non-stick surface began to chip after a year, but never warped. The pan filled my kitchen with black smoke when the handle melted. It can't be used on a gas range. I recommend getting rid of this pan because it's a fire hazard. They are allowed to sell it. The handles are made of plastic, and they smell like it. I don't understand why you would put a plastic handle on a pan like this.

The secret is to let it heat up, never use anything but soft plastic or wooden utensils, and never apply more than medium heat. My lid was dropped and now it won't fit. 👤We still use this pan several times a week. The pan is non-stick and has held up well. The non-stick surface is in good shape. We are careful to use non-metal spatulas with the pan, but tongs, spoons and other utensils are metal. We are careful not to accidentally hit metal. I like the shape of the sides. They are great for stirring. The pan is non-stick. A 5 egg omelet is not a problem with the 14" size. It warped after about 6 months. The stove is gas, so it has not been a big problem. The pan would be gone by now if we had an electric stove. The pan looks attractive and durable for most of the time. It arrived with small scratches on the bottom. I thought the surface on the bottom must be easy to scratch. I used it on our gas stove last night and it scratched the pan bottoms. There was nothing new. The bottom coating is tough, but I must have gotten a pan that took some abuse before it was packaged. It cost the pan a star. I'd send it back if it was a gift. The handle material on the pan seems to be solid. The pan is thinner than I thought, but it did not warp and it seemed to heat uniformly. The main handle is the only complaint I have. The handle is too small for a man's average hands. I am afraid that if I pick it up with the weight of food not centered, it will spin in my grip. I'm sure the second handle will help with this, but I'd rather have the main grip in my hand. The surface seems to be okay. Time will tell how it will fare over time.

I got this one on Amazon for about $39 and I was amazed at the size of it when it arrived, since it retails for about $100. It is a little bigger than the burner on my stove, but it still cooks evenly. I've used it almost daily for the last 2 months and I've made a variety of things in it: stir fry, beef stroganoff, scrambled eggs, sautéed meats, grilled cheese, and French toast to name a few. I can make 3 grilled cheese sandwiches at once and 4 pieces of French toast at the same time because it's so large, so it cuts down on cook time for some of the things I make. The pan is of excellent quality and works well without using butter or olive oil. I don't use metal cooking utensils with this, so I've had no issues with the coating coming off. I wouldn't store it underneath other pans, which may have contributed to other reviewers having the coating come off. The bonus handle on the opposite side makes it easy to pour food out of the skillet, and the handle is easy to grip. It is very easy to clean. I would have bought this skillet sooner, I love it and recommend it for all your cooking needs.

The pan's weight and balance did not feel awkward. The pan is more evenly brown than any pan I've used. The pan's ability to cook eggs is better than any other pan I've used. I can sautee without using utensils. The pan is easy to clean. I don't allow the pan to cool completely before washing it. I don't use metal utensils in this pan. Minor scratches have been accrued. The surface is slightly less non-stick after a year. It is not recommended to use metal utensils. It is not known if the coating is being removed during cooking or non-abrasive washings. I hope it's the latter. The pan does not have the rivets flush with it. Food debris collects around the rivets. The construction of the handle has not shown signs of wear. The pan is fastened with rivets. The pan's ability to heat and cool quickly is very good. T-Fal claims that. T-fal's heat indicator shows when the pan is ready to cook. 2. Many people who paid for shipping and never heard back are the subject of horror stories onwarranty review websites. Good money should not be thrown after bad money. They leave a film that you can't remove, and that is the opposite of nonstick. Don't use the highest heat. Medium to high works well. That's the healthiest way to cook. The reason I bought this pot again is because it's hard to find in stores now, but it's great in the kitchen, and has a square shape. After making or heating pasta sauce, I had to clean up spatter for half an hour. The pot allowed me to cook the spaghetti, drain it and put it in a bowl, then heat the sauce in the same pan with not a bit of spatter. It's perfect for cooking four slices of French toast. It will make your life easier if you treat it well.

It's the perfect size for frying bacon. I've used the "frying basket" to blanche peaches, corn, and tomatoes. We haven't roasted in it yet, but that's just a matter of time, and the roasting pan that rests the roast at the bottom is exactly what was needed. This pan is also induction friendly, which is a huge bonus, as I like to use my cook top when we travel. I will buy another one.
