👤I have good experience on this subject and I am a Systems Engineer. I can tell from my tests and perspective that this is not a reliable product. I had a good experience with the Support, good people that look to care about your problem will answer you in a reazonable way. They pointed me to the signals out of range after looking at the modem QAM table on the GUI interface after few interactions, tests, and changing my modem twice for the same model. I was asked to contact the company to solve the problem. I contacted the company and they opened a ticket for me to change all of the cables and signals for my installation, after some adjustments to their equipment all the signals were with the specifications I requested. After a week, boom... The modem is frozen again, and it starts to lose packages on the network at a rate of 80% to 90%. My home has a cabled network that is connected to a pair of Gateways that are connected to two different internet providers. I have tried a number of different modems from different companies on this setup, and all of them showed the same behavior. The internet speed degrades until it is practically useless after a few days when network packages are lost. I have to restart the modem twice a day until it 800-273-3217 I need to restart it again. I'm thinking about a solution, but the modem/router doesn't have a feature to schedule an auto restart, and there are times when you have to restart it twice to get a good connection. It's useless to try to use a smart outlet to recycle power on a scheduled time. It will be useless if it didn't connect after the first recycle. I never used the embedded WIFI from this modem/router because I just need cabled internet to my firewall. There is nothing to add about the quality of the internet. Summary of a problem. It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing After a few days, the modem starts to lose network packages. You can't access the GUI when the modem doesn't respond to requests. I didn't try to break into the modem to investigate the software issue. It works fine after a hard restart, but it might be related to a persistent cache of something that only gets flushed after the second restart. Conclusion It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing After using the modem/router for a while and trying different modems, I have stopped using it. I believe that the series of Gigabit modem have an Important reliability issue on the software that doesn't implement adequate quality assurance mechanism for the connection and are incapable of self recovering from a degraded connection situation making it a bad option for most users. If you don't want to restart the modem every time your internet is slow, then I don't recommend it. The other modem had the same behavior. I tried not to be too technical on my review, but this is my first extended review that I feel compelled to write. Leave a comment if you need any more information. I don't think I can share my email here. I was told over the phone that only the internet service provider would be able to update it. That is not the kind of answer you want to hear from a product with that price range. This review is not related to the opinion of any company or customer I've worked with until now.

👤The modem is certified by our internet provider, and we purchased it because of it's high ratings. The cable modem was easy to set up and use. The internet signal has been malfunctioning. After talking to the internet technicians, it appears the modem is not compatible with the company. We are stuck with a modem that can't be used because it has been over 60 days. I submitted this review to help other buyers.

👤I use the internet as a power user. When I use it, I expect it to be there. The units of the internet service provider were flaky. After changing their unit four times, they finally said that there needs to be a better solution to intermittent equipment. Can't say enough nice things about the unit that I bought. It works better than the units of the internet service provider. Nice. It pays itself in one year. Thanks for making a quality product.

👤There is a huge hole in the security of this modem, because the ISP can change the default admin password, thus denying you access to its configuration settings. The customer support of the company was aware of the issue and knew exactly what my internet service provider had done. It makes sense that they need to give the ISP access to the firmware during the provisioning stage. When the modem is hard/factory reset, the admin password should be stored in read-only memory, which should be accessed by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds. A factory reset only resets the password to the modified value. My internet service provider deserves ire for their actions, but they should also be criticized for allowing them to hijack their customers' personal property. I would not have been able to set my modem's security settings if my modem customer support hadn't known what my ISP had changed to. It would have left me open to attacks if I wasn't able to change my passwords. Should my internet service provider feel like it, they can re-provision my modem at any time, change my admin password to something else, and brick my modem - at least as far as protecting my security goes. When employees who have physical access to the modem should not be allowed to arbitrarily reset the password, I am aware that there may be instances when entities want to change what the default factory-reset admin password is. It's not something that most end- users of this product would be affected by, and it's an option to consider in a high-end commercial model. Changing the default factory reset admin password should require physical access to the modem if that is required. It should not be possible to remotely change the password from outside the device's local intranet.

👤The unit that was replaced with the Xfinity one works great. The signal is better at all points in the house because of the speed improvements. It's simple to setup. It was about 15 minutes to get up and run. After 17 months, I can start saving money on my capital investment. Change all the default passwords for theLAN and admin of theRouter if you log into it. Do not call them. You can register online. Go to the internet and open up your browser, and you will see a registration screen. Have your account number ready.

Brand: Netgear

👤It works well. It's easy to install. Excellent throughput speeds. I purchased this because it had two outputs that I wanted to use to separate my routers from my other one. Many nitwits think that it can be done without a problem. Not true. After connecting and reading the user manual, it is clear that the two ports are for Link Aggregation only. It will not work for two separate connections. They said it couldn't be done, Link Aggregation only. I was going to upgrade to the CM 1200 which has four Ethernet ports, but I was going to have to get separate internet addresses from my internet service provider. The CM 1200 can be used in this manner and the tech support didn't know it. The use of multiple addresses to run different devices is only proven to work on Comcast so far. If you want to do what I intended, you'd have to buy a modem with a built in router. Oh yeah, whew.

👤I ordered this modem to upgrade my internet speed. After calling them, I was told that my modem has the same address as another modem already in service with them, and that I had to call them again because I couldn't use the automated service for my ISP. To verify that the address on the device was the same as the sticker on the outside, I used the device to log into. The literature in the box suggested that I call Netgear Support. I will tell you about the garbage that is Netgear customer service. It is every bad customer service stereotype that has made it to a dumpster fire. I'm far more than an average tech user. I don't have any problems operating from command line, deploy server environments, or operating in any OS. The first thing that Netgear tried to do was to give the responsibility to the retailer, because it was their fault that they issued multiple modems with the same address. They wanted me to return it to the store so other people wouldn't get stuck with the same problem when they resell it. I told the customer service rep that this was unacceptable and that it was on Netgear to fix it. It was difficult to impress her because her English comprehension was mediocre. She was difficult to comprehend. She wants to get an image of the receipt from me after she got them to agree to replace it. This is not a problem for me. She insists on me logging into their support portal as she tries to get me to upload the image of the receipt. This is not a problem. She tells me to use my email password when I create the account. Not good. You shouldn't use email passwords. I don't trust you with my email password because you can't understand the concept of a unique MAC address. Someone less knowledgeable would inevitably be compromised when your database is leaked. She put me on hold for 5 or 6 times because she couldn't figure out how to change my email address, even though I had spelled it for her multiple times. She hung up on me after waiting for an hour, instead of letting me know that they would call back when they were done. After giving her 15 minutes to call, I went to a call center in a dark corner of India where I couldn't understand the operator's English. I was put on hold for another hour and a half and hung up because it seemed like no one was going to answer and I had reached the limit of my patience. Somewhere in India, someone thought it was a good idea to call me at 9:30 PM. Really? I got ready for work in the middle of the night. I can't understand someone who will be too incompetent to help me, please waste my time now. Never buy anything from NETGEAR. It will break, it's cheap garbage, and their support is one of the deeper levels of hell. No one really speaks English there and no one has a clue what they are doing.

👤I moved into a new home and there is only one game in town. I used to rent the modem/router monthly. I told myself that the next company wouldn't get me on that. I know that this will pay for itself down the line, even though it is an expensive out of pocket cost now. I read and researched between the different models and decided on this one. Installation was flawless. I was already connected to the internet when the tech was about to set up the TV. There is a strong signal in the house. There have been no problems thus far. The modem has been solid for the last 4 months. The signal is strong.

👤I bought a modem/router to replace my old one which cost me $11/mo to rent. Why didn't I do this earlier? The new router will pay for itself in 15 months, but the upgrade to the performace was so dramatic I could not believe it. The rented modem was less than a year old. The signal was unreliable on the 3rd floor of my house. It was very annoying that my nest cam would go off-line several times a day. I was blaming the other person. The download speeds were not impressive. Since I switched over to the new routers about 3 weeks ago, I'm getting strong signal on the 3rd floor and my nest cam hasn't gone off-line. The download speeds are much faster than with the internet service provider. This is a very good routers, bottom line. I could not be happier.

👤The device works. The self-installation process with Xfinity did not work out. I have an existing account with a modem. I had to register the modem by phone. The tech had to shut down the modem. The new modem was activated. The process took about 30 minutes. All is well after that.

👤I had trouble getting a strong signal in some corners of my house with my first routers, which was much cheaper. I replaced it with a satellite unit and it solved my issues with the internet. I needed to replace my modem about a year after I bought the device that could replace it. The beam forming and power boost features of the MG7700 sounded like they might be enough to overcome my home. Without an extra satellite unit, there is no need for a mesh routers. I was wrong. Even though this is a much more expensive and fancy router, it still has the same problems as my older cheaper one, which is a strong internet signal throughout my home. I am going to buy a new cable modem and return the old one. Apparently 5ghz signals have more trouble going through walls than 2.4ghz... When I connected my phone to the 5ghz network, it lost the connection in a far corner of my house, but it still showed the 2.4ghz network. The product was easy to set up, I just plugged it in, and I was prompted to sign into my account, which took less than 30 minutes. Since this is a dual band, you can have one network for both 5 and 2.4 GHz. It's nice because it gives you more control over which device you want to have on which network, but keep in mind that 2.4 GHz is more susceptible to interference than 5 GHz, and it has less trouble going through walls. You can set the SSIDs to be the same and leave it up to your devices to choose, which is what I did, and the Orbi uses the same SSID for both. The status and configuration pages are usable, but I have seen worse products. One thing I don't like about most other routers is that they only show the wireless devices, and you can't see the other devices. There are many advanced settings that I didn't play with, but almost all of them have an info popup with explanations. It's a decent looking device with a simple design. I rented a combo modem+router that looked like an alien spaceship, but it is not as big or ugly as this one. The shelf space is saved by having it stand vertically. The modem and router are combined into a single device, but I discovered that the firmware is not user-updatable. This is normal for cable modems, but not every other router allows me to update the firmware. Updating the functions of the device was not allowed. The manual says that when there are updates, they will be sent to your internet service provider for approval and deployment.

Brand: Arris

👤The network was activated in Connecticut. It works well. Arris is now charge me a monthly fee. The modem was detected by the network after the detaching of the TM822 and attaching it. I had a bad experience with Optimum tech. The modem is a DOA, according to the tech. I don't believe it. I bought this unit from Amazon. I tried myself the next day. This only applies to the internet. Never tried on another internet service provider. I connected the cable to the laptop. Register the modem in the browser by myself. You don't need to know your service information. I was able to get onto the internet through my internal wireless network after less than 5 minutes. The modem is not printed outside the box, but it works fine with the network. You don't need to swap this modem. You can register this modem by opening the browser and looking for "Logon to Network icon" from your browser. That is all.

👤Are you paying a fee to rent a modem? If so, buy this and thank me in 6 months when it has paid for itself. The pieces of junk you rent from your internet service provider are not better. How much do you think it will cost to get a modem from Comcast? If you are like the average person locked into an ever-increasing contract with your internet service provider, then this is what it costs. You've been paying over $600 in rental fees for the modem you've been renting for 5 years. Since this is a modem, you will also need a wireless router. It's worth it, believe me. I have had a good reliable connection for the whole time I've been using this surfboard. You can buy a new modem and router every 2 years and still save money, even though the older models are obsolete. The internet will be more reliable. Your family will be grateful. You will be wanted by women. Men want to be you. Buy a modem when you grow up. This one works. I've owned three Arris Surfboard.

👤Buying an Amazon warehouse deal is a good idea. The modem was registered to someone else, and that's when Comcast came out to install it. I have to use a rental modem until they can verify and change modem registration because they couldn't reach them. I need to swap the rental for a new one at the store. Guessing my bill will probably take a while as well. It was painful.

👤The product was great initially. The speed of my service was increased from 100 to 150 Mbps. I did various speed tests at different times after that happened and I was getting more than 170 Mbps. I was happy to get a little more speed. I had a cable modem for about a year and a half. I lost my internet connection when the modem was hot. I tried plugging the modem back in after 10 seconds, but it wouldn't work. I put it on top of the floor vent to get the cool air. When I did that, I was back online, and I left it there ever since. It gave out in the middle of the day when I was working from home. It failed me when I needed it the most. I tried plugging it back in, but couldn't. I had to buy a new cable modem and buy the CM600 based on suggestions from another review. I was expecting this modem to last me for about 5 years after I paid top dollar. It lasts 1 year and 5 months. Don't buy!

Brand: Netgear

👤The modem behaved exactly as it was advertised, but only for two months. I blamed my internet going completely out on 3 days ago, after I noticed spotty internet last week. I couldn't get internet because my modem lights were on. The technician from the company came over for an hour and I replaced my modem because the modem wasn't responding correctly. You were officially dead on Aug. 14. Outside of the return period, I'm stuck with a paperweight. The technician warned me that Netgear modems tend to fail earlier. You can get cheaper modems if you get this. You've lost a fan, thanks for disappointing me.

👤I have had this modem for a while and it has not been reliable. It was fine for the first three months. I would restart the modem and it would work for a while. It has been working for 15 minutes and then it goes down. I was renting a modem from my internet service provider, but I forgot to turn it on. I have not had a problem with it. I am not happy with this modem. This has been trouble for me, I am normally a Netgear fan. I have a lot of work that I have to do on my iPad and this is not acceptable.

👤The modem is easy to set up and supports the company we have. It took less than a minute. There are instructions for setting up the service if you have it. Very easy. The modem is working. Our internet speeds are what they should be. Purchase your modem and stop renting it. I have no idea what technical stuff is. I am enjoying better internet connection after I put it with a LINKSYSEA7300.

👤I don't do reviews often but I want to help my friends save days of research and frustration that I went through to finally get the most speed out of my internet. There are some golden nuggets here. I upgraded to the new gigabit here in Denver using their new Cable Modem/Router device. I was only getting 500 Mbps of download speed. It was lagging in our house when people were playing games and others were using the internet. Theagging was going up. I'm getting the most download throughput (941 Mbps) and the lowest ping I've ever seen since I upgraded to the CM1000. The house is rock solid. If you want to get the most speed, you should upgrade your ethernet cables to Cat 6 or Cat 5E and then Factory reset your router. You may need a new router. I'm getting the highest download throughput and lowest ping I've ever seen. I compared this cable modem to the XB6-A provided by Xfinity. I learned that you should make sure your ethernet cables going from the cable modem to the routers and from the PC to the computer are either CAT6 or at least CAT5E. There are two more The XB6-A that Xfinity provided was more expensive than the CM1000 cable modem. I got a 5MS ping to the server here in Denver. There is a hearing of un heard of. The new cable modem is used most of the time. I was getting 11-14 with the modem. A lower ping is important for a game. There are 3 more The modem/router combo doesn't work well if you have your own. You should only use their device if you have a router. If you can't get above that, don't worry, modern gigabit routers/switches can do it. There are five If you've enabled features like Traffic Meter, you're more likely to be able to handle gigabit download speeds. I enabled some of the features on my Nighthawk and it was only getting 400-500 mbps. The speed was still low even after I disabled these features. I did a factory reset and it fixed it, and now I'm getting a download speed of 962 - 962 mbps. When you enable extra features, the routers no longer use it's faster processor and it slows down. The newer routers can still maintain the max download speeds of 941 mbps, but they can also use features like QoS. The website Small Net Builder compares the routers to see which could reach the fastest download speed. If you need a new routers, I recommend you check that out. The CM 1000 is a cable modem. It's not a computer. If you only have one device, you're fine, but if you want to have more, you'll need a router. The XB6-A is a cable modem and a wireless router in one. I think it has some flaws that need to be fixed, but it appears to be a large piece of hardware. You can save money by getting the CM1000. P.S. I plan to upgrade my routers so that I can still get a good amount of download speed. If you enable this and run a speedtest, it will appear lower because it's now reserved for other devices in your home.

👤The Quick Start guide was included in the box and made setting up the modem easy. It's not a good idea to use the option to text an activation code when you're not using it, it's only good for 15 minutes, but I didn't receive the text until 30 minutes had passed, so just stick with your account name. My modem lease is up and I'm not getting a 3.1 modem upgrade, but I was pestered by the company to upgrade my modem because it was working fine with the new DOCSIS 3.1. I narrowed my choices to the three modems that were compatible with my region on the approved device page of the company. The three are all comparable at 1001 Mbps, 32 down x 8 up DOCSIS channels, and DOCSIS 3.1. The Arris has great hardware specifications and is very popular with the cool kids, especially after they went with the Broadcom's offering. It's got 3GB of RAM, 128MB of flash memory, and 16 bits of flash memory. I would have purchased it if it wasn't a box that clashed with my apartment. I know, Vanity, your name be Monkey Rat. I've never had a lot of love for Netgear, and I found its hardware lacking -- 128 MB of flash memory and 512 MB of RAM. One would expect something a tad more from a name like Netgear, with the current theoretical home speeds at 1Gb. It's feature rich, which is saying something for a cable modem. I didn't see a reason to go down this path. At this point, the clashing white Arris was looking better. I found a happy place after comparing the MB8600 to both. 512 MB of RAM and 128 MB of NAN is cheaper than the Arris with a doubling of the RAM, but I paid more for future ability to bond upwards of 4 than the Netgear with a doubling of the RAM. This device is positioned nicely for a future with a potential of 4Gb, because it requires a higher end router and is faster than a gig speed. It's a big device. If you're familiar with the older Surfboards, this is double the size in height and doesn't come with a mounting option. It has a grid pattern on the side that gives it great air flow. How does it work? My internet plan is awesome. I've never seen wired speeds increase in the dead of night, but it's not all that noticeable, even if you plug in directly to the cable modem. I can't argue with the results, as they were significantly improved for my nVidia SHIELD K1 tablet and the Google Pixel 2 phone. I need to check out the baked in spectrum analyzer utility on the MB8600, but I keep forgetting. I like it, but I don't think it's earth shaking or setting the sky afire. I don't have a problem with watching movies on the occasional basis, and can only praise the device for its eye-catching wi-fi boost, which I have no explanation for. I might change out my Cat5e for Cat6 and upgrade my router to get more Mbps out. I think it's time to call xfinity and do some line tests. I will give you updates on that as well.

👤The third update was to the Xfinity tier. Around 935 and 40 up. I don't have a 2.5Gbps. If you have 2.5Gbps network setup, you should be getting 1.2Gbps. I haven't had a modem issue since I got the product. I have been running for more than a week without a single drop. I don't expect to ever need to restart. Time will tell. It was bumped to 5 star. I'm still upset that there isn't an ethernet cable on the modern. I ran a bunch of ping tests for my 2 favorites and found that the median and third quartile are, and I plotted in a box plot. Not a big difference. The single blue light won me over in the look department and its tiny form factor. I decided to return all of the other 3 in order to get a modem upgrade. The original 4 Star review took out 1 star because of me being upset over not finding a network cable on such an expensive modem. Arris 8200, MB 8600, and 8611 were purchased by me. Here is my initial impression. I was really disappointed that there was no network cable in the box. There was a nice flat network cable in the Arris 8200. The old style rounded network cable was on the 8600 and 8611. This has nothing. 2. It looks better than Arris 8200. I decided to return the 8200 because it is so hideous. The motorola is likely to win the look. I would rather have a cute little modem. The modem is roughly the same size as 8200 and a tad shorter. 3. The other modems were activated without hassle via the xfinity app, but S33 forced me to call. There were few observations compared to the Arris 8200 and the MB 8611. There is no spectrum analyzer on S33, unlike Arris 8200. I cannot access the internet. The OFDMPLC is showing 1 dB less than 8611 on all channels for me, but I think it will get better as the modem locks in better. 3. The power shifted by full. The S33 is showing around 3 dBmV for all but OFDM PLC and it's showing -5 on MB 8611. The entire signal level shifted by -5 and OFDM shifted by -3. 4. On S33 and 8611, the power level seems to be the same. The modem was installed by me. I will have to observe Corrected and Uncorrectables before I report on them. I used to accumulate low single digit corrected and Uncorrectable, but it was very rare.

👤I don't know how this modem gets good reviews. Weak power is why. I replaced the modem with a new one. The Arris S33 has a better SNR than the MB8611. The other things listed below have a big effect on this. Speed. My provider has 1Gb service. The max speed I could achieve with the S33 was about 500mbps. I should be in the 900's with the MB8611. It was hot. It was hot as the fire raged. It drops a lot. Look at my pictures. The Power and SNR columns have different meanings. It was worse on the ARRIS. My environment has not changed. I have a straight shot to the cable box.

👤Wow! What a change! Tech came to the house and could not find any problems with the line, but he told me my 7 month old routers was garbage, and I looked up a dual band routers, which was Amazons Choice. Same day delivery! I went through setup with my internet service provider and within 10 minutes I went from 15-20 Mbps to 200mbps with no issues for the last 72 hours. I was impressed with the range and availability of this mix. I was looking for a cheaper option, but I found this unit that has a 5G wireless option, and it's even better on the other side of the house. I was so impressed by the first review I have ever written, that I decided to log on to Amazon and write it in the middle of streaming. Same day delivery for a super buy? I am a fan.

👤This is the modem for you. You can launch your browser by hooking up to it with an Ethernet cable. A screen will show up in a minute, and you are done in a few minutes. I changed my password and sign on to my previous one and all my devices were ready to go. Rental fees are no longer charged.

👤I try to avoid modem/wireless combo. I made an exception because of the reviews and ease of only having one device and after 2 and a half months, the wireless signal on the router has degraded to the point where I'll be returning the device. The signal degraded 20 days outside of the return period so I picked up the protection plan. When I purchased the modem/router, I was getting between 140 and 150 mbps on 5 GHz and 40-50 mbps on 2.4 GHz on a 200mbps connection. It was expected that apartments have a lot of congestion. The issue isn't on the internet service provider but the computer that I have hard-wired to it. I purchased a protection plan for the device, but tonight has pushed me to the point where I'm going to use it. I'm getting 70-90 mbps on 5 GHz and 20mbps on 2.4 GHz at 5 feet away. At 30 feet away, my signal is around 30 mbps on 5 GHz and 900 kBps on 2.4 GHz. There is an update on 9-21. When I got a new router, the download speeds were better than they were when I wrote the review. If frequent resets are required to maintain adequate speed, will update.

👤The coverage for my 2,500 square foot house is great, it works perfectly without being located near the center of the house, and several items using the internet, without any issues: two computers, one laptop, 2 cellphones, one tablet, two firesticks, an Apple device. I'm very happy with the equipment, no more dead spots inside the house, and good coverage outside, with two concrete blocks wall between my phone and the modem.

👤Wow. I got this because people said it boosted their speeds a bit. The picture was plugged in and up and running in no time. I think I ran at 200. Let's see how it handles streaming devices. It is worth it in my opinion... I was charged $10 a month for their rental, but it will pay for itself in a year.

👤I bought this because of the increase in the monthly rental fee. I always had a gateway unit. I know that most techies buy a separate modem. I didn't want to have 2 pieces of equipment in the house and I never had a problem with the gateway unit. We don't do anything like that. I have a triple play package with Comcast. It is cheaper to have triple play than it is to have the landline. It takes about 15 minutes to set up. That is true, but there is no way to not call them. You can't just switch the phone lines and cables. You have to call the company to register the unit so they can connect everything on their end. You can't do that without calling them. When I called early in the morning, I didn't want to be on hold forever. I was fortunate to have two women who knew what they were doing and made the process very easy. I was worried about having to call. Press the prompt for internet service when you call. Get that set up. After that, check your phone. You will not have a dial tone. The internet person doesn't know that you don't have a dial tone, so tell the agent. They need to connect you to someone else. If you want to change the names of your networks, you can do it after you have everything connected. I am not a techie. I didn't want the network names to be what comes with the unit. I thought it would take another hour of my time. The instructions can be found on page 6 of the booklet. It took 2 minutes to change the network names. When you do this, you will have to log in to your internet again on all of your devices, and give the password. I am really pleased with the unit and getting it connected, but be aware that changing the network name kicks you off and you need to sign back in. I want people to know that they have to call to complete the process, register the device and get connected. Good luck.

👤It was easy to install. It was connected to the cable line. My PC opened the website and I entered my password. I was back on line within a few minutes. Do it! My download speed went from 250 MBs to 295 MBs. If you use the same name and password for your previous network, it will be easier to connect all your peripherals. When I returned my modem, it was the best thing. I overheard the teller tell another customer that the current modem rentals are $11 and will be going up to $13 on January 1st. I will return to my modem quicker. When I got to the front to return my modem, the teller scanned it and asked me where my new modem was, so they could register it. I told them that the phone line was working. She tells me that if they remove my modem, I will lose all my internet access in the house. I assure them that their modem has been working fine for the past 5 days, yet they still ask if I want to return it. They give me a receipt and a paper with instructions to register the modem when it stops working. The modem is still working perfectly after I got home. It's obvious to me that they want to steal every cent from their customers, including from renting equipment, and they're trying to scare me into keeping their modem.
