Brand: Kerye

👤It is made in China. Not from Japan. Don't buy at this price.

👤The names and other items printed on stones are not useful. They are filling the stones pores. There are red items in the photo. My blades are touching the print. The space between the printing and the stone's face is only half of its face. I tried to remove the printing. Hah! I've tried alcohol, paint thinner, and kerosene. None of them had any effect. A stone is provided. I tried that but the printing made it hard to breathe. I don't think it would be possible to clean the ends of the stones. I have been sharpening knives for 50 years and have made money. I prepared a knife for the fellow who got 12 stitches. I know what I'm doing. I want my money back. I didn't have my family pay for it. I see a set the same as this and a block of rubbing compound for $20 less. Get something else. Don't spend your money on theses. There are better values out there.

👤This was the first whetstone I'd ever bought to sharpen my knives and I was really impressed with how much stuff it came with. There are four different sharpening grates, a leather strap for finishing, and a stone to level the sharpening stones. I was worried about messing up the angle and messing my knives up when I had neversharpened a knife on a whetstone. TheANGLE GUARD is my favorite part of this product. A small clip on the back of your knife is the best way to make sure you get a consistent 18 angle of contact with the stone. It's very useful for beginners like me. I can't wait to sharpen my dull knives because I'm very satisfied with this product.

👤The product is well packed. I bought it for my sushi knives, but I think the grid needs to be higher for premium knives. 1. The bamboo stand on the stone prevents it from sliding and it also means that you don't have to out a wet tower underneath it. 2. The grids are written with a number on them that you don't have to guess. 3 I believe you can use the additional small stone to flat your stone after a long time. As you use the stone, it loses its flatness. It's a good thing that it's resurfaced once a while. 4. I don't need the glove that protects the sharp knives from cutting my finger. If your wife wants to do the job for you, you should include it. I'm satisfied with it.

👤The kit is great. I have never had a kit like this before. It's very easy to learn how to sharpen your knives. I'm looking for all of the knives in the house. You can unpack everything and soak the stone in the water for 5 minutes. The stone should be put on the rubber mat and wooden holder with the rougher facing up. Attach the angle guide to your knife. Start at the bottom and push the knife away from you, with the angle guide touching the stone. You can see the image. The stone should be flipped to the 1000 grit. Let the stones dry.

👤I bought this to make my mower blades sharper. I am writing this on the driveway as soon as I finish climbing under the tractor because I am so impressed. The blades were 3 years old and were dull from being knicked up from rocks and stumps. They feel sharper than before. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I used the ax sharpener for the first few strokes and then went to the sheer one to get a sharper edge. I'm looking forward to sharpening my yard tools now that it was so easy.

👤I'm not a person who is intuitive. I rely on clear instructions and diagrams. How complex is a sharpener? The instructions that came with the All in one Sharpener are hard to understand. The print on the instructions is small. Is it possible that no money could be spared to print the instructions on a large enough piece of paper to read them? And diagrams large enough to comprehend? The sharpener does not work on the tree trimmers without the trimmer heads breaking down. Sorry.

👤I bought to sharpen my lawn mower blades. The first set was sharper. Straight forward and very easy to use. The blades were off the mower. I prepared the mower blades with a vise and hand file to make sure they didn't have any chunks in the cut surface. I will post a picture when I am done with the second set.

👤This is the most common tool in the home. This item surpasses any other sharpener and the need for multiple sharpeners to do the same job, because of the clever embedded multiple sharpeners at different angles. I have never realized how many items need sharpening. I didn't realize how dull the blades were, even though they didn't look like it. No spare razor blades on that utility knife? From knives, scissors, to shovels, axes, chisels, mower blades, pruners, clippers, machete's and more. It will be better if you use this sharpener a few times. It will handle any straight wavy or curved blade you can find. It's not designed for a blade that's serrated. That's correct... The manufacturers should add a missing fold-in tapered rod to make this sharpener perfect.

👤I know about unorthodox use. It's a great chew toy. When I went to the grocery store, my dog bent her cage door to get to it on the table, but she was trying to hide it from me. It was mostly intact, even though I was gone longer than I expected. Despite some serious damage, it still felt good in the hand and it was built to last. Does anyone want a dog who has killed several birds, a baby, a dog leash heavier than her, and a tree that fell on my house? She was deemed untrainable by her dog trainer in York and since she's here and not in Hell, I'm guessing Satan was done with her as well.

👤I have used it on my expensive knives and garden tools. It is pretty much proof. I was told to return to the factory for regrinding and sharpening several garden tools and shovel blades to make life easier after I took a nick out of a Wusthoff blade. Definitely recommend.

👤I had to figure out which stones to use.

👤I don't sharpen my knives.

👤The grip on this sharpener is strong enough to hold down and sharpen the knife. The sharpener section is not the same as the rest. Depending on the condition of the knife, there are 3 slots to sharpen.

👤I have two knives that work great and I spend a lot of money on it.

👤Everything is advertised but it doesn't sharpen knives.

👤Excellent in sharpening my knives.

👤I like how easy it is to use.

👤I am wondering how long it will last, but so far it is great.

Brand: Work Sharp

👤I opened the box and submitted a review. I came back to revise my review after using this sharpener. I would give a negative star. I have a lot of things, including Japanese wet stones, Sharp-Maker, DMT Diamond plates, WorkSharp Ken Onion and WorkSharp Original. That is what being said is. I was expecting this to be a good starter kit. The concept is good. The lack of rigidity is what the Achilles Heal is about. During the sharpening process, the knife clamp is easy to move. It is not mechanically attached to the frame, but held with a couple magnets, which will ruin the secondary bevel on your blade. Work Sharp's other products have been great. This item can hurt your blade. Don't buy this unit until Work Sharp fixes the bugs. Just my 2 cents worth, from the $1,000 Tormek to the Spyderco Sharp-Maker.

👤I got mine today. It feels good and is easy to use. I've chewed through all of the steels that I've sharpened so far. Better in every way than a random field sharpener. This feels like it would be a lot better than your KMEs and ViperSharps. Absolutely recommend. I'd like to see them roll out a more complete stone set, with a strop, a really coarse stone for stock removal, and a diamond option to supplement the ceramic. I'm very excited for expansions on the platform.

👤I watched a video about the person who designed the sharpener and bought it. I liked the simplicity of its design and the ease of use, but most of all I liked the price. I was hesitant at first because I owned a Ken Onion Edition Knife and tool sharpener, but I returned it after trying to sharpen only one blade. If you're like me and have difficulty holding a steady angle and moving the blade across the abrasive in a smooth motion, it can cause the blade edge to get hot and discolored. Most of the sharpeners I have looked at are more expensive than the basic design. I've used The Razor Edge System for years and have yet to find a better one. The four pieces of this sharpener are easy to assemble without instructions. It is very portable because of its size. The abrasive grades can be used for a quick edge clean up or to put a fast and easy edge on a dull knife. The angle adjustment is easy, but I just set the abrasive on the knife edge and looked at it from the side to make my adjustments. If you have an established edge, the sharpie technique would work just as well. The pocket knife was held firmly by the clamps. You can flip the knife over and back with a push of the button on the back of the case. If I could make any changes to the sharpener, it would be: 1 - Make the abrasives a little wider. It's easy to roll the abrasive plate at a 1/2 inch wide. The abrasive rod fit needs to be tightened. There is a small amount of play in the rod when moving the abrasive holder. The blade flip push button should be easier to use. I had to use both hands to depress the button out of the box because it would loosen up over time. The design of the sharpener, ease of use, and affordable price make it a great choice.

👤I read through the manual before I received the sharpening system. I justsharpened 10 of my knives to razor sharp edges. It worked on a dollar store knife and a 1955 Sabatier K Chefs Knife. I had to read through the manual again to make sure I was using it correctly. There are a lot of complaints about it not sharpening properly or not sharpening Japanese knives, on a lot of the one-star reviews. Most of these people didn't read the manual carefully. I had a bit of trouble at first, but once I checked the manual, I had sharp knives. You need to know when to use slot 1 and when not to. If you don't have a good burr on slot 2, you won't be able to get to slot 3. You will probably dislike this device if you don't pay attention to the simple things. I found that I could take an old dull knife and use it to pass the paper and tomato tests in less than 2 minutes. America's Test Kitchen is right about the sharpener.

👤I am an avid cook with nice knives, and wanted a tool to help keep them in top form, so I was considering this sharpener. I used the ATK recommendation as the main point of reference for this sharpener. Despite reading some negative reviews, I thought there was a chance I might get a faulty unit. I did not expect the defect to be that the sharpener would gauge the sides of my knives. I did a practice run on an old knife, and had some initial problems getting the blade to flush, so I attribute the problem to the scouring. After working out the issues, I went to sharpen my chef knife and it worked the same way. It's not a good idea, especially one at this price, to do this. If the company's customer service says you should tape the sides of the knife, then they have no business selling this unit. I'll always have the gauge in my knife as an unpleasant souvenir of my Trizor XV, but it will go back immediately.

👤We don't have high quality knives, so we don't plan on buying a $500 set of knives. After reading reviews in cooking magazines and Wirecutter, I purchased this and pulled out all of our knives. Be careful with your knives, they will be sharper than before. Great marketing. It takes your normal 20 degree edges for less expensive knives and sharpens them to 15 degrees. I want to be able to cut a tomato. Pay attention to the warning. I took a knife and cut a tomato in my hand after sharpening it with this. I didn't notice that the knife kept going into my ring finger, it went through it quickly and easily. I didn't feel the cut in my finger until I saw a line and blood, but it was sharp enough that I didn't even notice. If you follow the instructions, this sharpener will make your knives sharp. I've cut my hand three times because I'm not used to being as careful with knives. The set of relatively inexpensive Cuisinart knives were converted into a very effective knife set. They are not a $600 set of knives. I wouldn't want them to be any sharper. I exceeded my expectations.

6. Work Sharp Knife Tool Sharpener

Brand: Work Sharp

👤I was on the fence. I have a Lansky system, stones, and hones. I will still do it by hand when I need to. I have a large collection of tools. It is a chore to keep them sharp. The Work Sharp shines there. firewood is burned for 5 months a year. I split most by hand. This thing is great for axes. The axe is the most time consuming part. I will be clearing some of my hunting trails, a few passes on this and my machete ready to go as spring arrives. I wanted to re-profile a few of my knives. It took me less than 20 minutes to work through the various grits. I took my time and could have done it quicker. The re-profiled blade looks like a factory edge. If I took a few knives to my local shop, it would have cost me a lot more. I go to my shed now. If you are a woodsman, hunter, fisher, camper, then you are a DIYer. I would highly recommend this tool. It is very high quality. The system runs smoothly. I will be buying other work sharp products.

👤I've researched knife sharpening. I used to use a cheapo harbor freight 1x30 belt sander with angle attachment. It wasn't good. I sunk about $100 into the whole thing and now I'm afraid to throw it away. I am in love with the worksharp I just tried. The worksharp beats the wicked edge in terms of cost, labor intensity and speed. In terms of cost, setup, and speed, worksharp beats the tormek. Worksharp beats lansky/rod style systems in terms of labor intensity and speed. Oh. I haven't tried the scissor sharpening feature. I might get a maul in the future, if this thing can do the things that my kitchen knives can. I'm going to marry it. Buy a ring and propose to someone. The worksharp will get you a smooth and sharp edge in under 60 seconds, and it takes less than a minute to change belts. You only need 2 strokes on each side on the medium belt, and 5 on each side with the fine belt to achieve a working edge. The edge is sharp and I have to ease off because I notice I'm slicing into my plastic cutting board. Kitchen prep was twice as fast and half as hard as it was today. I don't need a mirror. I don't need a lot of diamond honing. I need a sharp knife almost every day in the kitchen, and I need a cheap way to maintain it. The worksharp is what it is. I'm in love. I'm going to leave bad reviews on other sharpening systems and leave good reviews for the worksharp. I'm a fanboi of WS.

👤This is the best knife sharpener I have ever owned. I've used wet stones, rods, and the like. This setup is perfect. I carry a razor sharp enough to shave. My tomahawk is sharp enough to cut paper cleanly. I've used it on everything from hunting knives to kitchen knives. I haven't had to replace a belt yet. My son's souvenir knife needed sharpening, and it put a great edge on it. I would probably be careful with cheap blades. A lot of metal will be lost. I sharpened a butter knife. There are 3 different bands. The edge profile is developed by heavy grinding. The red is medium for cutting. For honing, the grey is fine. If you want to shave, you may want to get a leather strop. I used my filet knife to slice through fish like a hot wire through butter. There is no need for $300 knife sharpeners. Get this one. There was a novelty hunting knife. The metal is bad and dull. It took just 5 minutes for the razor to be sharp. I am telling my friends to bring their knives because I have fun with it.

7. J Henckels International Handheld Sharpener

J Henckels International Handheld Sharpener

The ceramic grits give razor-sharp knives. The handle is easy to hold. The safety grip keeps fingers away from blades. The rubber base keeps the sharpener stable.

Brand: Henckels

👤I used the knife sharpener immediately after I was able to open the packaging. It took the edge off my chef's knife, so I wish I had never ordered it. I have to remove my electric sharpener to put it back in. I was trying not to do that since it takes a bit of the blade every time. I'm returning it.

👤Our new chef knife needs a knife sharpener. We were going to dispose of the knives because they were dull. We assumed they were too far gone since they weren't expensive knives to begin with. They are wonderful after using this sharpener. They were cheap knives from World Market.

👤I was a bit intimidated by the task of sharpening my knives. I ordered Henckels sharpener and did it myself. I was surprised at how easy it was to use the sharpener. Thank you for that!

👤The henkel knives I have are brand new.

👤It is easy to use, but not very effective. Very bad product.

👤This does not make my knives sharper. I have tried to sharpen my knives several times, but it doesn't work.

👤I bought the sharpener after buying a knife. I keep that knife and my other knives in good order.

8. Sharp Pebble Sharpening Waterstone Whetstone

This is a simple yet unparalleled tool that can be used as a men's gift.

Brand: Sharp Pebble

👤I think it's important to note that this stone is a standard item that is sold by a different company and branded with "sharp pebble" branding. If you know the right thing to look for on Amazon, you will find at least 20 more listings that are exactly the same product for a variety of prices, nearly all of them less than this one, which has a higher price. If you're interested in this stone, it's probably a better idea to get the exact same thing for less. I would recommend getting one that comes with the angle guide, which we will discuss later in the review. This is a really good sharpening stone. The angle guide is a game-changing accessory, it makes it easy to keep the angle consistent, and is the most difficult part of sharpening knives. I gave my mom one of these because she had neversharpened a knife before. She was up and running after spending about 5 minutes with it. She had neversharpened a knife before, so her knives were so dull that you couldn't hurt yourself if you tried. They can't cut through a tomato's skin even after sawing back and forth, because you have to pierce it with the point first. The difference was clear to everyone when we worked one of these completely dull knives with this stone for 45 minutes, and it took longer than that to get a knife from 100% dull to razor sharp. It was once again a knife that could cut vegetables. If you're not familiar with knife sharpening, this is a great introduction because of the angle guide and whetstones are more effective than stand sharpeners. You do if you're on the fence about sharpening your knives. If you get one of these, it will make cooking much easier and safer, since the chances of a knife slipping off something you're trying to cut and into your fingers is much lower when the knife is sharp enough that it bites instead of slipping. The package does not include instructions on how to use the angle guide, so I will add them here. The angle guide should be used to slide the knife's tip into the end, so that the tip protrudes from the other end. If you look at the guide from the side, you will see that the knife can rest against the top or bottom of the guide. It would be best to keep it resting against the bottom. The only way you can mess up is not holding the angle consistently, so make sure to keep an eye on this. As you hold the handle, make sure you put enough pressure on it to keep the knife in a straight line. Go for it, moving the knife back and forth across the stone. You can watch whetstone on the internet. One more thing. The knife and the stone are getting rid of their surfaces as you sharpen them. The surface of your whetstone will change over time from being flat to being even. It's important that your whetstone surface is flat in order to properly sharpen your knife. If you want to keep your knives sharp, you will need a flattening stone. If you want to experiment with flattening stones, go for the diamond plate, it has been shown that it will yield the best results, however, there are other options that cost less and have good reviews. There is another listing that sells the same stone for less than the price of this item.

9. ZWILLING J Henckels 32602 001 Sharpener

ZWILLING J Henckels 32602 001 Sharpener

There is safety. The handle on your sharpening tool will not hurt your hand when you push the stone back and forth tosharp your knife. There is attention! Measure APP can be downloaded if your phone doesn't have a tool to set the angle. A sharp edge in seconds. It is important to quickly and safely sharpen your blades. Safety is secure. The handle protects fingers and the bottom is non-slip. Coarse and fine for both western and Asian-style blades are used. The sharpness of the blade will be restored if you pull through. It is not dishwasher safe to clean with a damp cloth.

Brand: Zwilling

👤The title and misrepresentation of the item made me give this item a low rating. This is not a four stage knife sharpener, it is a two stage one for Western and Asian knives, where both sides of the knife edge are sharpened. When it arrived, we opened it and realized it wasn't what it was advertised to be, so we never tried it out. If you have both style knives in your kitchen, this might be a decent option but, as advertised, it is a bit misleading.

👤I don't like sharpening knives. I like a sharp knife in the kitchen, it's nothing worse than trying to cut veggies or meat, and the knife requires too much elbow grease to cut. I've always been skeptical of these types of sharpeners, preferring a sharpening rod or stone system, but after using them on my kitchen knives, I'm sold. I would recommend this to anyone who cares about sharp knives, but hates the time it takes to use a rod or stone.

👤ZWILLING J.A. is a good quality product. I was looking for another ZWILLING J.A. knife sharpener. The manufacturer discontinued it. I need to switch to this one. It looks like it has a lot of plastic parts, which made me very concerned about its longevity. When I opened the package, I was surprised that it was much heavier than I thought. ZWILLING J.A. is always very reliable. It is easy to use and matches my knife perfectly. I use the Asian side of the kitchen knife. The blade is very sharp after pulling back and forth. Five stars for sure.

👤Have a set of knives but have neversharpened them. The tool did the trick. I don't want to be like some people who write bad reviews and think an at home tool designed for the novice will provide the same results as taking knives to a professional to have them sharpened. That is unfair to the manufacturers of this product who worked hard to make a sharpener that does a good job at sharpening knives and is safe for the home consumers. This is a great tool that I used tosharpen my Henckels and didn't cut my fingers off.

👤I can't get this thing to sharpen my knife. I tried to sharpen my Cutco chefs knife and my dalstrong chefs knife, but they don't do anything for them. I bought a whetstone.

👤We bought a Henckels single-stage sharpener after purchasing our knife set from Macy's. Did well. I bought this one because I wanted to sharpen a few of my Japanese knives. The set for the Standard blades and the sharpener we purchased was not as good as this one. I was so happy to go with this. It is more sturdy than the single-stage sharpener we had, and it sticks to the countertop a lot better.

👤I was very excited to get this in the mail because I needed to get my J.A. Henckels knife ready for sharpening. The instructions are very easy to understand and follow. I could shave my face with the knife because this sharpener took just a few moments to transform a dull blade into a scary-sharp razor. I had a chip break off of the coarse sharpening stone while I was sharpening the 7" santoku for the first time. The sharpener was at risk of dulling the next knife to be sharpened on it due to no longer having a consistent flat surface on the stone because I did not use excessive pressure while sharpening. It's true that nothing lasts forever and that sharpening stones do eventually wear out, but it's not very economical to put out so quickly. The style of sharpener makes it difficult to get the last inch of the knife sharp because you have to apply moderate pressure to make the knife move and then use the v-shape sharpening stones to make the knife move. If you want to prevent this from happening, you have to stop applying pressure to the knife at the end of the blade. I will be exchanging this in hopes that the chip that broke off the first time was due to a manufacturer defect.

👤It is easy to use. It works well. I was surprised at how easy it was tosharpen our knives.

👤It is amazing. It was quick and effective. The knife set we have is a decent quality. We decided to get this sharpener since it was cheap and we could try it out before buying new blades. We got our money's worth quickly. All of our knives are fine now. Great product!

👤I bought a set of knives from Amway a long time ago, and the instructions said they should be sharpened by a professional, not using a home sharpener. My knives got duller and duller without my noticing it, since I couldn't find any professional knife sharpeners. The eye-opener was when I tried to cut a sweet potato. I was going to have to spend a lot of money on a high-end set, but I didn't want to spend it. I bought this sharpener after seeing some reviews, but it sat in its box for a couple of weeks before I got it out and watched the video, because it arrived during a week of illnesses. I ran my knife through the first and second slots ten times after watching the video. Holy cow. The difference in sharpness was amazing. I ran the knives through the device I had in the kitchen. The results were gratifying and it was easy to do. I need to go back with some of them and give them a few more run-throughs, but the video said to start with 5 or 10 and see if it was enough for your purpose, and that's what I did. I don't think I want to be without it, so I hope this sharpener lasts a long time.

👤I spend a lot of time cooking in my recipe/cooking/lifestyle group on FaceBook. My knives take it in the shorts. The best quality chef's knife is useless if the blade is dull and dangerous. You don't cut yourself with sharp knives because of dull ones, as anyone that cooks knows. I no longer have dangerous knives in my kitchen because of this little beauty. This is an excellent sharpener and don't let the low price throw you off. It is so small you can leave it on the counter so you remember to use it. Every knife I own is razor sharp. Highly recommended...

👤I should have known better, I'm not sure how this product gets good reviews. I've tried a lot of easy peasy sharpeners over the years, and this one is no better. I'm amazed that so many people said it works for them. I used this tool for 30 minutes on a paring knife. I swear it was duller than when I started. It wouldn't cut a tomato if it wasn't squishing it. A couple of real or synthetic stones and a little work is all it takes. The afternoon after I received it, it was already packaged up for return.

👤I was able to keep one of my knives from being thrown away. I have a solid set of counter chopping block knives. We had no way tosharpen the knives I use most often because the rod sharpener broke. The knives were so dull that it was really pathetic. I bought this sharpener. I had to put the knife through the coarse sharpening side about 4-5 times to get the edge back on the knife. Wow. It was like a brand new knife. I was skeptical because of the not great quality of the knives, but this sharpener did the trick.

👤There is a significant gap between the positive and negative reviews of this knife sharpener. This thing is a piece of junk. The truth is, it's 100% both. The device seems to work miracles and will give you an edge on the dullest knife you own. It will shave the edge of a knife into the fixed taper, and compared to the dull piece of shit edge your knife used to have that will seem amazing. If you own cheap knives and don't want to invest time or energy in properly sharpening them, this thing is amazing. When your cheap knives get dull, resharpen them with this thing, and when they get ruined, just throw them out. This is a perfect product for that person. It's better to have a dull knife than a sharp one, so just sharpen it away until it's too damaged to keep fighting. The other crowd says this thing is a piece of junk. Those people are correct. This will use a dull knife and put an edge on it. It won't put an edge on it. It's too aggressive. If you drag a knife through this thing, you will do more harm than good. If you have nice knives, you must either learn how to sharpen them yourself or just send them out to be done. There's no shame in not having a pro do the work. You have it. You don't care about preserving the knife or long-term quality of the cheap knives? Use this. It does work. Do you have good knives? Don't use it. It will ruin a good blade and make you regret your investment.

👤I knew what to expect. I expected it to be cheap and done quickly. I didn't expect the sharpness I get with my KME Sharpening system. If you're in need of your cheap kitchen knives and pocket blades to be sharp again but don't care about how much metal you're taking off with each pass, then you're in the right place. Don't be specific with what angle your blades are set at. The AccuSharp sharpener is a great way to get er done. It is quick, simple, and easy. If you keep a consistant angle, you can. I would suggest you put the sharpener on the back of the hard surface and run the blade at a 90 degree angle across it, since you are guaranteed to wobble. You will have a dull end product if you wobble. I would recommend holding it. When you have your blue shield, pay attention to the illustration on it. I took a dull butterknife steak knife with just 2 passes of medium pressure and it was sharp enough to not rip cardboard. 40 passes later, it cut cardboard cleanly. The last 5 strokes of the last 25 passes are lighter, and it cuts about 60 percent as nicely and smoothly as my knives are sharpened with the KME system. And in a short time. We're talking a few minutes versus hours of work. You can't beat the AccuSharp. If you feel that this review helped you make an informed decision, please click theHelpful button.
