👤I use a wet stone to keep myself sharp, I'm an experienced chef. The electric sharpener is less messy and quicker. There is a Pull the knives slowly towards you, ending with the tip like you are slicing a pound cake. Light, slow and even. The quality is great and the price is right.

👤This is a professional sharpener. I was surprised by how heavy it was. While sharpening the knife, it stayed put. I used to have every knife in my kitchen sharpener. The housing for the sharpener is not cheap. The metal is collected in a compartment. I am happy with this product.

👤I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but the grinder inside seems to be off compared to the grooves on the device. I don't feel like I'm doing much grinding or that the motor would stall, so the instructions could be simpler. I've tried many different knives and made sure to run them through the recommended amount of times. I don't think the sharpener is doing a good job. I'd love to try another unit, but I'm probably the exception.

👤The first run felt a bit grabby, until you found the right angle and pressure to drag the blade. I might not be able to sketch it to run my Henckels through it, but it did a great job on my workhorse chefs knives. The magnetic shaving collector looks great on the counter with my other appliances and is sturdy enough to stay put when used. Will this replace a professional knife sharpening? This is as good as it gets for the average consumer.

👤I decided on this one because it was made in Austria and I felt it would give me more quality than a brand made in China. It is made in a number of ways but lacks power. It stalls out when it's under a load. If you want to do a number of knives in a row, it is not appropriate for light sharpening. You have to wait for the motor to cool down before you can resume using it after only sharpening a few knives, because there is a thermal override that turns the motor off to prevent overheating. I only recommend this sharpener for those who only want to do 3 or 4 knives at a time. I wish I had bought a heavier duty sharpener. I have used a sharpening stone by hand before, but this is the first electric one I own. I will have to train myself to only use a few knives at a time, because I will try to use this for awhile longer. The angle on each knife was better established in the second sharpening than it was in the first. The motor heats up way to fast, and the motor override is a pain.

👤I bought this to make my kitchen knives sharper. I tried sharpening them with a hand sharpener, but they were still dull. It would be worth a try if you paid the price. It's a little noisy when you power it up. It's personality. If your car sounded like this, you'd take it to the shop. It was sharpening the knives that were pulled through it. Keeping the blade at the same angle each time is the secret to sharpening. It will not hold an edge like that. Even though the unit has a proper angle, it takes some concentration to keep the blade against the side. I'm sure practice will make perfect. The more expensive units are set up to keep the knife blade against the side to make sure the angle is right. Don't think you pull the knife through and done. It will be perfect if you practice and wait. I tried it out and it got a little warm but never shut down on me. It's a keeper.

👤I bought a few different sharpeners to sharpen my Zenport 300 series sickles. I bought the Sharpal 103N, the Sharpal 112N, and the Corona AC8300. The reason I bought this was because the larger Sharpal ones wouldn't work on the curved blade of my Zenport K315 sickle, which is why I bought the Corona. The large sharpeners work well on straight edges. There is a large, polished tungsten carbide sharpening surface. There are sharp edges and rounded edges. The cap style pictured is neutral. The cap is tight, but there is no lanyard. I was thinking about using this in the field, but with a retention device for the cap, I was thinking of putting it down, or in my pocket, and forgetting to pick it up. I added a lanyard, drilled a hole in the cap, and added a cord to solve the problem. Sharpal 103N All-in-1 is available at Amazon. The AC8300 is from Corona. The Zenport K31 sickle is available at the Amazon.com store.

👤The Sharpal is the value leader of the bunch, because it uses a tip that you drag across the edge, similar to the 105N. Most of the similar products use a small block of material welded to another piece of cheap metal, whereas the entire sharpening and honing component is made from the same material. If you want a knife that will work for a while, try something difficult like an axe head or lawn mower blade, and it will likely separate before too long. The honing side is a nice touch that few of the competitors have, as well as a large rubber grip that makes holding it in your hands safe even when your hands are wet or sweaty. It didn't get 5 stars from me because there was no documentation with the product. There was information on how to sharpen a knife on the back of the package, but nothing about honing. There was nothing about scissors, shears, axes, or any other tool that it could sharpen. The product should come with a pamphlet or something after I found some info by searching the interwebs. The end cap can't be put on because of mine. It can be put on, that's not entirely true. There was a QC issue in my case, so you need pliers to get it off. It really doesn't get any better for this type of sharpener. I wonder if people don't know how to free hand sharpen is the reason for the negative comments. It's not easy to find the right angle and use the correct pressure, it takes practice and skill. This isn't one of the Sharpal products that allow you to drag a knife/axe/shears through a V channel and get rid of a lot of metal. It's no longer difficult to use something like this Sharpal if you master and perfect it.

👤The cap was loose when I opened it. This little sucker can sharpen a knife in a few moments. With the razor edge, I got the hang of the honing part, and I don't need to hone anymore. The cap fit is a different matter. I don't see how anyone with small hands can remove a cap without using tools. If you can do a pull-up with only your thumb and forefinger, you have no worries. Most of us can't do this miracle. Unless you have Joe-Herc, don't seat the cap all the way. What is the point of capping it if you don't seat it fully? If you attach a lanyard, the cap will fall off. Whatever. The tool is very sharp. If you want a quick razor edge, this is the one for you. Who knows? Maybe the manufacturer will redesign the cap-fit complaints. If not for the cap, I would have given five stars.

3. SHARPAL 191H Scissors Sharpener Sharpening

SHARPAL 191H Scissors Sharpener Sharpening

A sharpening tool. There are ceramic blades for fine honing and special tungsten carbide blades for scissors grinding. You need 3 parts to meet your sharpening needs. The strong prediction base. It will suck very hard on the table. You can start sharpening the knife. You don't have to hold it with your hands. Your hand is very safe. You can hold it with one hand. You can conveniently store it in this small size. It won't take up a lot of space in the kitchen. Sharpal headquarters in CA, US with overseas branches in Germany and Australia aim to provide consumers with an easy and cost-effective way to obtain a sharp edge. It was manufactured and field-tested to the highest standards.

Brand: Sharpal

👤I think this product is worth five stars. I was worried that this would be a poor quality product, but it turned out to be very good. The flat surface has a very strong suction cup. When you use it, I will give you some advice. It will suck better if you add liquid. I use a spray to clean it. Good results! If you have good skills, you can use it in a vertical position. It has 3 stations that are incomparable to other similar products. It has a grooves of the metal. Excess metal can be removed from your knife with the help of a hard metal. You can use a very blunt knife. This product has a ceramic edge. The texture of the ceramic is very delicate. The ceramic slot won't hurt your knife, you can use it to grind your knife. I like the function of its sharpening scissors. The function of this grinding scissors is not found in any of the sharpeners I have. My scissors become very blunt when I use them in the kitchen. It has become even sharper.

👤This is a great product. I have one arm. It's difficult to sharpen a knife with only one arm because you can't hold it down without something, and this one works great because it's cups to the counter or smooth surface, and it's saved me from many accidents.

👤They only use ceramic rods to edge scissors when I look at a scissor sharpener. Don't cut it with leather shears or kitchen scissors. The cutting edge on scissors is put on by this sharpener. It has a ceramic edger and a rough repair tool for knives. It's a great tool for the money, but not an electric sharpener, it's just a one horses rear end power. It does its job.

👤I am an activity director at a senior living facility and a craft nerd. I own a lot of scissors. At least 20. I am on a tight budget and they get dull over time. A few months ago, I tried another brand. This one is far superior to that one. I like the control I have on the blade to make it sharp. It only took me a few minutes. I'm curious to see if anyone comments on the cutting ease at our next class.

👤What a shock. I didn't think it would do the job when I received it. It was a surprise. The counter was getting cluttered. I had to twist it a bit to get it off. I have a lot of things. Everything I threw at it was sharpened in a very short time. I was blown away. The little sharpener is small and it took me several hours to sharpen everything in the house, but it did an outstanding job and I have lots of places to store it.

👤I already have 3 knife sharpeners, but none of them do a good job at sharpening scissors. I saw this product and thought I would try it. I'm impressed. They worked on my scissors after I followed the online instructions. I'm very pleased with the results of sharpening 4 pairs of scissors. I didn't try this product on hair shears or sewing shears, but I would give it a "B+" for regular everyday scissors. I now have sharp scissors. I will have to wait and see how long this product lasts. Hopefully, this product will keep sharpening my scissors.

Brand: Work Sharp

👤I like the Ken Onion Work Sharp. I bought it because I wanted to learn to do it freehand and not ruin my knives. The first knife I tried on the Work Sharp was a brand new Ontario Knives Rat-1, an inexpensive, well-made knife with a pretty AUS-8 finished blade. I was able to make a beautiful mirrored edge in a few minutes. The metal particles that come off the edge during sharpening build up on the angle guides, and I produced a lot of scratches on that pretty AUS-8 finish. You get scratches when you pull the knife through. I don't mind if my knives get damaged. I can't see how defacing them would be possible. It's not necessary. A quick search of the forums confirmed that others have experienced the same problem. I decided to use painters tape on a different knife to protect it. The problem was solved with a perfectly sharp edge in minutes. This method is suggested by other sharpeners like the Apex Edge Pro. It would have been nice if the Work Sharp people did the same. The Work Sharp is a great little machine that is a good price, if you want to try the convex edges. I suggest you read the instructions carefully and taping the sides of your blades. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

👤This will bring back the life to our kitchen knives. The instructions are very easy, this could be why people make mistakes. I prefer the ones on the cardboard table, as they are the ones that are the most detailed on how tosharpen a blade. My husband and I didn't need to buy new kitchen knives or take them in on occasion since this system already paid for itself. The construction is very solid and can turn the most novice knife sharpener into a pro. If you want to have razor sharp knives on a moment's notice, this will surpass your expectations. The old saying is that a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one. A razor sharp blade is not as easy to use as a sharpened blade. After sharpening with this system, be very careful with your knives, they will be scary in a pleasant way. I've picked up a few tips that have helped me sharpen my blades quickly and precisely. I peel masking tape over the edge of the blade to make a silhouette. I put the silhouettes back on and reveal the blade where it will make contact with the belt. This protects the blade while learning how to use it. 2. The real skill is when to let go of the Trigger so that it doesn't grind more on the tip of the blade than the recommended 1 inch per second and maintain proper contact with the belt. 3. It can make a mess, after sharpening 8 or so blades I noticed my dining table was covered in shavings. It was to the right of the sharpener. I put it to the left of the kitchen sink because I wanted to make sure there was no water or something on the counter. This made it easy to clean up the mess. 4. If you're like me and you're wearing eye protection, the left grind shoots debris straight up in your face if the knife is properly inserted and pulled. It would be really bad to get that in your eyes after sharpening your knives. I wish I had a face mask for the first marathon since you will be looking and making excuses to sharpen every blade in the house to make it pass the paper test. 5. The main difference between a pocket knife and a kitchen knife is the angle, since they both use the same main 3 belt grits. I separate my kitchen and pocket knifes and use the same belts for both of them, even if I have a sharpening marathon. The angle degree is the only thing I change. This helps speed up the process by not having to change everything out for each pile. 6. Losing count or what side went in last is the best way to ruin your edge. My method is to use odd numbers on the right side and even numbers on the left side to remember where to start. If it calls for 10 I count to 20 total. I go to the right until I reach 10 and it's a good time to check for burrs. The right side of the system will start at 11. I have yet to notice burrs occurring, thus speeding through the process precisely. I wouldn't have spent the time to write this if I didn't think this Worksharp was good.

Brand: Zulay Kitchen

👤I was curious to try it out immediately after I received it. I used it on a dull knife. I used it on all of my knives immediately. I wanted to see if it would work on my knives. I would recommend this product to anyone.

👤Did not miss out. The type of sharpener that performs fair to moderate is usually this one. I was very impressed with the quality of the performance of the knives I had been sharpening. When they were new, the knives were sharper. Great tool.

👤The first thing that I did was sharpen my knives. It did a great job. The course side is very strong and will remove metal from the knife edge when pressure is applied. I suggest caution when using this side. It was easy on the downward pressure. I think it's not necessary to use "course" each time. This is something to be aware of and not a bad thing. It's a great feature when sharpening dull knives, but should be used less on sharper knives. I plan on using the "fine" side for most of my resharpening now that my knives are sharp.

👤The sharpener made quick work of sharpening our knives. It is easy to sharpen knives prior to or after use as butchers do to keep them ready for the task. The sharpener is very small and manageable. I have expensive sharpeners that don't provide this sharpness unless a lot of time is spent on the task. The price is great for the time that has been and will be saved, as well as the pleasure of getting clean and easy cuts.

👤I just received a horrible model and I don't think this works well. I have attached a picture to show you that the ceramic portion of the sharpener is now rounded, and it didn't sharpen my knives even when it wasn't rounded. It didn't work out in the box. I would love to write a 5 star review because my family is very important to me. We cook all of our meals at home.

👤After reading the reviews, I thought this was a great sharpener, but it is nothing but an old fashioned bypass wheel type sharpener. I have read that people use this on good Chicago knives. There is a pile of metal on the counter. It leaves a deep grooves from the shank. This makes a wire edge blade which will last for a couple of uses. I bought this for the knives my wife keeps, not cheap knives, just not our good knives. A good edge on a blade should last for a couple weeks if not placed in the dishwasher. I'm going back to the wet stone. Very disappointed!

👤I got the sharpener tonight and used it to help 6 blades. One of the knives was cheap and hard to work with, but the rest were great. The results of using the sharpener were amazing. It took no more than a minute per knife to get them back in shape after they were cut. I have used an electric sharpener before and it did a better job and was just as fast. The product is very good.

6. KitchenIQ 50009 Stage Knife Sharpener

KitchenIQ 50009 Stage Knife Sharpener

The edge of the table or counter top has a patented edge grip feature that prevents the tip of larger knives from dragging over the surface of the counter. It's small for easy storage. The ceramic rods are used for the final edge honing. The base is non-slip. The rubber handle is soft. Straight edge blades, serrated edge blades, and household scissors are included in the blade guide.

Brand: Kitcheniq

👤I decided to review it again nearly two years later because it got lost to me when I first reviewed it. I've heard my husband talk about it since I bought it. He said how much he still loves knife safety after he went over it with my daughter. This is the only thing I've heard of that still gets praise nearly two years later. I thought it was worth going back to my orders and looking for sharpness. I'm very pleased with it.

👤I'm surprised by how well this product works. I use a Japanese wet stone or belt grinder tosharpen my knives. Whenever I visit my mom and grandma's, I sharpen their knives with stone. I decided to buy this product because I wanted to teach my mom how to use a honing stick, but she couldn't seem to get the hang of it. It takes about 10 strokes on the course grind and 10 strokes on the fine grind to get a sharp enough edge to slice printer paper without tearing. It takes less than a minute to sharpen a knife for kitchen use. I can get a sharper knife by using a stone or belt grinder, but it's not good enough for a normal kitchen use. My mom and grandma can sharpen their knives whenever they want. This product is very good.

👤The headline says it all. The product may cause cancer or reproductive harm with no other information. The company didn't give me any helpful information when I called. Unless the exposure is low enough to pose no significant risk of cancer or is significantly below levels observed, a warning must be given if you have significant exposure to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The fact that there is a warning means that the exposure isn't low enough to pose a significant risk. I couldn't throw it out fast enough.

👤I am a mechanical engineer. The metal coarse sharpening side is actually made of an alloy that is used to 'braze' on the carbide insert that does the sharpening. This is stated in the description. Look up brazing on the internet. The bronze colour surrounds a rectangular block, which is the sharpening material. It is set in place because the surrounding bronze colour always fills out a circular arcs.

👤I am a professional chef, I just received a $60 dollar knife, and I wanted to try different sharpeners to see which was the best one. I use a diamond strike in my kitchen. This sharpener ruined the blades edge, ruining the rest of the testing on my 3 other sharpeners. The Damascus knife was hipped in 3 different locations, which caused a inconsistent bite, and the edge sharpener couldn't cut or skin paper or a tomato. I would file a claim for a refund on my knife or the sharpener, but why bother with a cheap and inconsistent product?

👤I bought this sharpener because it was cheap and had a lot of good reviews. The first few sharpenings were very good. My knives were sharper than they have ever been. I noticed that my knives never got that much sharper after using this product. The capability of the sharpeners went down as well because they wore out. It was great.

7. Smiths DRET Diamond Retractable Sharpener

Smiths DRET Diamond Retractable Sharpener

The rod is smooth and soft. Save money and time with the perfect accessory to keep your tools sharp. 100% satisfaction or money back guarantee! It was made from the highest quality materials. It was built for performance andDurability.

Brand: Smith's

👤It's my first time using a sharpening knife. My knife is a bit different than your typical knife with large dents. I lost nearly all of my serration on the 14 month old Victorinox bread knife that I had never sharpened before. The blade was so dull that it wouldn't cut through bread even with a strong pressure. It squeezed it flat. I used the Smith's DRET tool to recreate some serration. The knife was ready to besharpened after the rough dents outline took 5 minutes. One of the phases was patience. I stroke over the new dents 10 or 12 times, not once or twice as I was told by the instructions I read. I took the time to assess the progress. The result makes me happy. My knife cuts bread with less pressure than before. The result is shown in a photo. The bread remained fluff after a single cut, with no shaving or chips. There are dents in the knife and the bread. It took another 30 minutes to get rid of the marks.

👤The good. The sharpener worked well. I used it on a set of knives. The straight edges and the serrated edges were back in shape. The bad. Why are there so few stars? I could already tell that the tapered end of the knives was starting to wear off after doing only 7. The end was smooth to the touch by the time I was done. I expected it to last through more than one sharpening session. I know how to use a sharpener on blades with serrations, my dad was a meat butcher. I didn't press hard on any passes. I don't think the grit was well-adhered to the end. The rounded end of the sharpener is still usable with plenty of grit, despite the fact that the same number of straight edges were sharpened. If you plan to use for serrated edges, you will have to buy a new one each time, or find a different product.

👤This is not an easy sharpener to use, so get that through your head now. If you haven't used a rod before, I suggest you learn tosharpen by hand on your cheap kitchen knives, because you will chew the edge up for a few minutes before you get the hang of it. It will take a long time to repair edge damage. You can keep this in your bag, car, or tackle box to sharpen up your pocket knife, box cutter, or any other implements of destruction you use on a daily basis. This is the tool for the job if that's what you need. If you need something that can do damage, you can either get a nice set of stones or a Lansky bladeMedic. The handle has issues and I give four stars. The collet is abraded by the rod every time it is pulled through, which can't be good for either of them. The twist lock on the collet makes a third of the rod useless because you can't angle your blade correctly when you push away. I store the rod in a tube of paper and tape, and use it on its own.

Brand: Gorilla Grip

👤The product is very high quality. It has a lot of weight to it and it can be used to sharpen any surface. I have used it tosharpen my knives and it works very well. I have had nice knife sharpeners in the past, but this one is still affordable. I would not recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable knife sharpener.

👤This is enough to keep your knives in good working order. It is very easy to use. I keep my knife on the counter next to my butcher block so that I can run it through the recommended times before I use it. It's not going to bring any knife to professional sharpness, but it did bring all of my dull knives back to being like new again. If you have old regular kitchen knives that need to be brought back to new, I would recommend purchasing this. It worked well on my fishing knives.

👤I have 2 knives that are higher end, but I don't have a sharp blade anymore because my sharpener is worn out. I bought this one and it only has one direction to run the blade in. I started on the repair side, the middle slot, and the polish worked great.

👤Absolutely amazing! As soon as it arrived, I took care of the knives in my house. It works perfectly. I used it in the kitchen and it left black streaks, but it was wiped off with magic.

👤It works great as a sharpener. I have yet to try the other functions. My knives need sharpening on occasion. It has brought my knives back to life. Definitely recommend!

👤This is great! The knives I bought went dull. I tried this despite not having any experience in this area. It's easy to use. My knives were sharper. It was comfortable to hold.

👤It's easy tosharpen the knives in my kitchen. My wife likes it. We throw away old knives before.

👤A good knife is worth the money.

👤No cortaban nada, Dejo, mis Cuchillos.

👤El afilador is a man. Pude revivir un par de los finos. Apliamente, lo recomiendo.

👤The value is great. I was pleased with the quality when it arrived. Would buy again.

Brand: Work Sharp

👤I was on the fence. I have a Lansky system, stones, and hones. I will still do it by hand when I need to. I have a large collection of tools. It is a chore to keep them sharp. The Work Sharp shines there. firewood is burned for 5 months a year. I split most by hand. This thing is great for axes. The axe is the most time consuming part. I will be clearing some of my hunting trails, a few passes on this and my machete ready to go as spring arrives. I wanted to re-profile a few of my knives. It took me less than 20 minutes to work through the various grits. I took my time and could have done it quicker. The re-profiled blade looks like a factory edge. If I took a few knives to my local shop, it would have cost me a lot more. I go to my shed now. If you are a woodsman, hunter, fisher, camper, then you are a DIYer. I would highly recommend this tool. It is very high quality. The system runs smoothly. I will be buying other work sharp products.

👤I've researched knife sharpening. I used to use a cheapo harbor freight 1x30 belt sander with angle attachment. It wasn't good. I sunk about $100 into the whole thing and now I'm afraid to throw it away. I am in love with the worksharp I just tried. The worksharp beats the wicked edge in terms of cost, labor intensity and speed. In terms of cost, setup, and speed, worksharp beats the tormek. Worksharp beats lansky/rod style systems in terms of labor intensity and speed. Oh. I haven't tried the scissor sharpening feature. I might get a maul in the future, if this thing can do the things that my kitchen knives can. I'm going to marry it. Buy a ring and propose to someone. The worksharp will get you a smooth and sharp edge in under 60 seconds, and it takes less than a minute to change belts. You only need 2 strokes on each side on the medium belt, and 5 on each side with the fine belt to achieve a working edge. The edge is sharp and I have to ease off because I notice I'm slicing into my plastic cutting board. Kitchen prep was twice as fast and half as hard as it was today. I don't need a mirror. I don't need a lot of diamond honing. I need a sharp knife almost every day in the kitchen, and I need a cheap way to maintain it. The worksharp is what it is. I'm in love. I'm going to leave bad reviews on other sharpening systems and leave good reviews for the worksharp. I'm a fanboi of WS.

👤This is the best knife sharpener I have ever owned. I've used wet stones, rods, and the like. This setup is perfect. I carry a razor sharp enough to shave. My tomahawk is sharp enough to cut paper cleanly. I've used it on everything from hunting knives to kitchen knives. I haven't had to replace a belt yet. My son's souvenir knife needed sharpening, and it put a great edge on it. I would probably be careful with cheap blades. A lot of metal will be lost. I sharpened a butter knife. There are 3 different bands. The edge profile is developed by heavy grinding. The red is medium for cutting. For honing, the grey is fine. If you want to shave, you may want to get a leather strop. I used my filet knife to slice through fish like a hot wire through butter. There is no need for $300 knife sharpeners. Get this one. There was a novelty hunting knife. The metal is bad and dull. It took just 5 minutes for the razor to be sharp. I am telling my friends to bring their knives because I have fun with it.

👤It doesn't seem to level up when products are laid on a level surface The back of the handle and front side have a slight wobble. This should be important for this item as you are handling sharp objects. It takes some getting used to so be very cautious of handling the first few times. Sharpens pretty well. Will update in a few months.

👤I've used many knife sharpeners over the years, including whetstones, sharpening rods and the Edgemaker. The one I bought was the easiest to use and did the best job, but it was not the best one to use with scissors. If you enjoy wasting money and having dull scissors, don't try to sharpen them with this unless you enjoy ruining and having to replace several pairs of scissors. Forget the "satisfaction guaranteed" part. They never responded after 3 emails and a phone call from Muller trying to get them to make it right.

👤If you are looking for a product that will take your sharp blade and turn it into a dull blade, this is the product for you.

👤It's a good product. I have a full set of professional chef's knives that were made in Germany about 30 years ago, and I was going to tune it up, but I was waiting for fashion to catch up with me, so I just did it. The knife sharpener couldn't do the trick.

👤I am amazed at how sharp my knives are. Almost anything can besharpened. I was going to throw away my dull scissors, but now they are sharper. I have bad arthritis but my son didn't have any problems. It's a good buy and can be used for your outdoor tools too.

👤I bought some knives. I thought the ceramic knife sharpener was good. The knife was sharp when it was purchased. It is now dull after using this sharpener. I've read the instructions a few times but they haven't helped. The knife is dull. It has made a metal knife sharper.

👤The sharpener does what it is supposed to do. It makes knives sharper. I used all three slots on a dozen different blades and it worked great. Slot 2 sets the blade's bevel, slot 3 refines the edge, and slot 4 puts a finished edge on the blade. I don't rate scissor sharpener because I haven't used it. I have several different sharpeners, and this is the easiest and the best. Highly recommend it.

👤I have mixed feelings about this product. It can't sharpen my ceramic knives. It makes my steel knives sharper. The "coarse" slot is larger than the "medium" slot. I'm not going to return it, but I'm very disappointed.

👤The knife sharpener is pretty much the same as advertised. It's very easy to use and it's useful for sharpening scissors and knives in my kitchen. I would recommend it.

👤A very good tool. All my knives are sharp. Great purchase!

11. Smiths CCKS 2 Step Knife Sharpener

Smiths CCKS 2 Step Knife Sharpener

The base is non-slip. The crossed Carbide blades have a quick edge setting. Crossed Ceramic Rods have a razor sharp edge. There are rubber feet for added safety. Excellent for use on all types of knives. Excellent for use on all types of knives.

Brand: Smith's

👤The newer model is not the same as the one pictured in the item listing. It has a bigger mouth. You can see what the new model looks like if you check the purchaser photos from other reviewers. The wider mouth allows you to use the sharpener with garden tools, axes and hatchets that wouldn't fit through the old knife slot. The Ceramic side is great for putting a razor edge on things. Many knife enthusiasts don't like pull through sharpeners. I think that's because the sharpeners are too aggressive and remove too much metal without providing a sharp edge. If you are careful with your use of the tool, you can get a sharp edge. To reset the edge on your knife to 46 degrees, you'll want to use just one or two swipes through the Ceramic and the carbide. The best sharpening is provided by a water slurry on the surface of the Ceramic, not a dry stone. The only way to pull the blade across the stone is to keep it as vertical as possible. Don't roll the edge out of vertical because you'll be taking off that 46 degree point.

👤I'm an ex professional chef who still cooks. I stopped caring for expensive knives a few years ago. It was like having another set of children, because of the worry of a professional sharpener ruining them or doing it themselves. I gave away my Forschners and now buy cheap knives that I can use tosharpen them. When the knife blade is too old to keep an edge, I throw it and buy another knife for less than $10 I use this sharpener on my cheap knives. I've worn these out a few times. Don't use the blade on your good knives because it will slice a small amount off as it sharpens.

👤There are two sides to the product. The fine side is amazing. The course side is problematic. Proper honing and a proper sharpener are required tosharpen a knife. The Tungsten Carbide cutter is a poor excuse for sharpening because they create more problems than they solve. Unless you're stuck in the woods with a dull knife, don't use them. They sort of work. They'll also make a mistake with your knife. You'll end up with a mess. There is a The fine honing rods are an excellent way to hone a knife. Ignore the instructions about pulling knife through rods 10 times one way and rotating the unit 180 degrees. You will be able to shave with a knife. I keep one of these with me when I travel.

👤It's a good idea to keep a little sharpener in your backpack. Light weight, works well, durable, good visibility, so you can find it at the bottom of your bag. It is very inexpensive for what it will do. It's almost too small in that your little piggies are very close to the blade, so be careful. I haven't used it on a knife that has been beaten up yet but I think it does a good job of quick touch ups. It should work. A decent sharpener, no miracles! I try to make my reviews useful. If you think this review was worthwhile, please click helpful. Thanks!
