Shot of steam feature offers an extra burst of steam on flat surfaces. The anti-drip system prevents water from leaking. 30 minute auto-off for safety and peace of mind. The iron is cleaned for longer lasting steam performance. Lifetime soleplate and limited warranty.
👤I dropped it on my toe and it broke. There was no damage to the iron. It's great for ironing and weapon.
👤The flat iron was what I wanted. I can't comment on how well the spray bottle of water produces steam. I have never used the steam feature on an iron. I don't feel like I'm refilling it. The iron seems to heat up nicely for my fabrics. I use the cotton/ wool settings. ironing is just a chore to get over with and I'm not picky. This isn't the one for you if you want the bells and whistles. I like to wash and wear my clothes for the most part, so if your wardrobe is similar, this is your iron. The price is right.
👤I used this iron once and thought it was a great iron until I used it on a second shirt. I checked the instructions to make sure everything was set correctly. I'm stuck with this garbage because I can't get a FedEx to come pick it up and I'm not going out to drop it off to return it in this Pandemic because I'm worried about my health. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk, I will buy another Iron from another company. I am angry over this. Hope this helps you make a decision on "You get what you pay for"
👤This product has stopped working twice, so don't buy it. The iron worked well for about 3 months after I bought it. Then it stopped. Even though it was past its 30 day return policy, I spoke with Amazon and they replaced it. I will have to request a refund from Amazon because the replacement stopped working after the same amount of time. You should spend your money on another iron.
👤There was a second attempt at leaving a review. I wasn't following the guidelines, according to the first one. I didn't find any guidelines that I violated. I bought this iron as a back up. I needed it on August 10th. I used it for 5 minutes when it came out. How is that possible? I had to go to the trash. It is a waste of money.
👤I thought it would be new. When I opened it. It had burned marks on it. Next time, I will go to Walmart and see what I get before I pay.
👤The iron was used on the first day. Love it. The iron I have is useless. I need this iron. I like the different steam options more than I expected. I can get all the lines out of my clothing. 3/15/16 No complaints after using iron for a week. The iron is too light. The iron is of perfect weight and you would be lifting weights with it. I don't like to look like paper is crumbled. I iron the outer layer of clothing. This iron is fine to remove wrinkling. All is well if you set the temp and steam option. I have everything in my closet and the iron is great. This is not the iron for you. I could not be more satisfied. Iron's efficiency reduces the time spent ironing. The person is Leigh.
It was made in Germany. The water tank has a capacity of 350 liters. The setting of steam and temperature. There is a steam boost of 200 g. It takes 3 seconds for steam to regenerate and reach max temperature, which is much faster than traditional irons. Effortlessly glides over fabrics and allows for tight spots and corners. It's suitable for all types of fabrics. A retractable cord. The 8 ft. retractable cord can be pulled up with a touch of a button. It makes iron storage more convenient. You can leave your iron in the face down position, but not burn your fabrics or ironing board cover. The vertical steam function will allow you to steam out wrinkling on your hanging garments. They offer the best quality products designed to make your life easier. If you need help, please feel free to contact them, their professional customer support is always here for you.
👤The title says it all. I got a used one after buying a new one. Someone was using the iron because it had water inside. There was some white stuff coming out of the iron.
👤I thought irons were the same. This one is great! It is lightweight, has a large water tank and a large foot. The port for loading the water is large and makes filling from a cup easy. No need to use a funnel or container. Before the auto shuts off, it sounds a warning. No more waiting for your iron to warm up. It's easy to get into tight spaces with the narrowed tip. I do a lot of sewing. You understand the idea. The retractable cord was not mentioned. I never thought I would need one. The iron was wonderful for the price.
👤This is the second time that I have bought an iron on Amazon, and it has come showing obvious where in tear from repeated use. The manufacturer states that these are tested and steam is normal, but my iron has scratches and smudges on it, it was used for more than just being tested at the factory.
👤The iron is very good to use. It comes with a measuring cup and has a steam feature. It is very hot quickly. Gets out with or without the steam feature. It has a retractable cord, so no need to wrap it up.
👤I bought this iron because of the reviews. The iron has an off mechanism. When I opened the box after receiving the iron, there was an offer for a free gift. They sent me another gift in exchange for the free gift that was no longer available. They reached out to me to make sure everything was okay. The iron is easy to use. I would like to be able to turn off the iron manually, but I have to push the button more than one time to get the cord out of the way. I hope to get many good years out of the iron.
👤The iron has a smaller ironing surface than the overall length, adding weight and bulk. I've used it for ironing twice, and both times the plastic cover over where you add water broke off, rather than opening and closing easily. It snapped back on. Who knows if it will move easily or break off permanently. The iron's performance was quite good. The strongest setting is very effective, and I like having 3 clear settings.
👤I requested a replacement because the tank was wet. The outside of the iron had water drops after I received the replacement. There was a sticker on it that said there might be some water due to testing. I have never bought an iron with water in it. It's crazy!
👤I thought I got a broken iron, but I was reimbursed for it. I couldn't get it hot enough to iron a cotton dress or use the steam option. I had to align the dial in the wrong spot for 20 minutes before I realized. Things started working correctly after that. I heard the steam getting ready and it was able to get the wrinkling out quickly. I bought a 20$ iron at Wal-mart four years ago. I used to like Rowenta irons, but this one will do well until then. The auto shut off function works in the horizontal potistion, but I didn't test it in the vertical one. It's got the option to vertically steam, but it scared me the first time I tried it, so it uses tap water only. It is a bit heavier than a standard iron because the cord winds up in the base. If you test out the steam button on the low setting, it will start to drips. It needs to be high. I would recommend buying a replacement iron or sewing machine for "I just moved out and I need a new workhorse to complete my sewing projects". This iron is just as good as the one I already own.
Lifetime soleplate and limited warranty. If the iron is left inactive on the side or soleplate, it will automatically shut off the iron. To clean soleplate and outer surfaces, wipe them with a soft cloth. The Anti-Drip is designed to prevent dripping by keeping the water at the right temperature. Wattage is 120V. 1200W. The enhanced soleplate is designed to glide smoothly across all fabrics. The spray mist helps smooth away the deep wrinkling of fabrics.
👤I was worried because I didn't see all the reviews. I immediately used it and was relieved. I didn't include the part where I read the instruction manual. It does not have an off switch, but you can turn it on all the way down, as per the manual. I used the iron to sew and press my collars. The size is a concern for me. I bought it because it was small and compact. Most people don't know how to read a user manual.
👤B&D should be ashamed that they made an iron like this. I had a previous B&D Iron and it conked out on me. The irons that had the cord reel feature started to have issues with the cord going bad as I got tired of them. I decided to buy a regular corded iron that requires you to wrap the cord when ironing. I've owned several cord reel irons and have had the cord go bad on them, so I'm not going back to it. I know for a fact that I could've brought a better iron than the cheap one that had the indicator light go out on me after almost a month of owning it. I see myself using the two year warranty before the time limit expires. I may have to buy another iron because the one I have now has completely died on me. If anyone reading this has plans of buying this iron, read a few more reviews and if you keep getting the Do not buy response, please listen. I only had this iron for 11 months. It leaks water everywhere when it's not being used, it's noisy, and it has weird sounding noises when turned on. If you're thinking that you have a two year warranty, you're better off buying a more expensive iron from another company, as you have to submit your inquiry/receipt, day that you brought the iron, the power cord, not the whole iron. You have to pay for the shipping and handling with a money order. Black And Decker isn't the same company that I used to hear about, and a lot of the products they make are poorly designed and don't last. I'm saying that because I have brought two irons and a yard trimmer from this company. Don't buy!
👤I didn't pay much for this iron and didn't expect much. I don't understand why there's no on/off switch. If I leave it alone, it will shut off in 8 minutes, but if I plug it in, it will shut off again. That seems wasteful and dangerous. I'm not sure if I can live with it.
👤The iron is very basic and works well. I haven't had any issues with it leaking. I plug it in, choose the correct setting, and it does its job of removing the wrinkling. There is a red light to let you know it is on, but it does not have an on/off switch. I don't mind having to remove the iron to make sure it's off. I had to shut off the old iron I was replacing because it lasted for at least 10 years, and I am used to having to do that.
The advanced soleplate design is engineered to produce consistent steam flow from heel to tip for fast, professional results. The enhanced TrueGlide Nonstick Soleplate is designed to glide smoothly across all types of fabrics. SmartSteam Technology makes ironing simpler. The amount of steam will be adjusted based on the temperature you choose. The iron can be used as a steamer for steaming curtains and drapes. For added peace of mind, the iron shuts off when left unattended for 30 seconds on its side or soleplate.
👤I bought this item because Black & Decker is a trusted brand. I am disappointed. It gets the wrinkling out but not without hassle. The steamer leaks everywhere. I spend more time drying the area than ironing my clothes. I tried with little water and it still leaks. I was very disappointed in Black & Decker.
👤This was purchased in April of last year. I have liked it a lot. I use it for household sewing. It just stopped heating up. The light blinks sometimes, but there is no heat coming from it. I hope you can replace it and it's not a big deal. My rating is based on when the iron works. If I don't hear a response, I will change it. I finally contacted Black & Decker through their website. A new iron is on the way after I was contacted by them. The process of replacing the iron was very easy. The iron should not have stopped working in such a short period of time.
👤It arrived in a bag, like clothing. The reason for shipping it this way was obvious when the bag was opened. The box was ripped open, and the only way it could be resealed was if the people shipping it made the effort to seal it with packing tape. This was the first clue that I INRDeals The water left inside the iron was the thing that confirmed it was used. I haven't bought an iron in a long time, but if memory serves, they don't come with water already in them, right? To make sure I wasn't seeing anything, I opened the tap and poured the water that came with the iron. I ordered this iron because it had over 2000 reviews on Amazon and it cost $21. I decided to use the delievery to see if it worked despite the fact that it was in terrible shape. It was difficult to put water in it. Unless you have a small funnel or something to pour water into, the design of the tap and opening is poor. Everything on the outside of the iron will be wet. If this item was new and in an open box, the manufacturer may have provided a specialty thing to use to put water into the iron since the tap is small and at an odd angle. It seems logical, but I wouldn't know for sure. The iron didn't get very hot when turned to the highest setting. I've only used the ironing board to iron a pair of pants and a shirt. I had it on the highest setting and it did not seem to be that hot, but I had to go over the same areas many times in order to make the material look nice. The steam button had to be pressed about twenty times in order to get steam, but once it started steaming it did an okay job. The water spray thing took a long time to get going. I don't know if this button is normal or not. It has been a long time since I bought an iron. My old iron would start steaming when it got to the set temp., if it was set on a steam setting. The buttons are loose and the spin knob is wobbly. The retractable cord has issues with sticking. I think it held water when I put more in it. It arrived with water and I knew it. It did not leak water when I used it or had it heating up. The pointed tip got into the seams of some pants I was ironing. It has a good look. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this item because of the way water has to be put in, unless the manufacture includes a spouted cup or something to make putting water in it easier and less messy. It seems not to get as hot as one would expect. There is a lot of people who have purchased this item from both Amazon and other sellers who have received used items. I think I should have looked at the 1 star reviews on other sites as well.
We offer the best quality products designed to make your life easier. If you need help, please feel free to contact them, their professional customer support is always here for you. Dynamic steam technology. When compared to Shark GI405 and T-Fal FV4476, the Allure iron produces over 30% more steam to cut throughwrinkles and create long- lasting, crisp results on clothes, linens, and more. The iron should be kept at peak performance with the Auto Clean system. Independent steam and temperature controls give you the ability to change each setting for the best results across all fabrics. For added peace of mind, the iron shuts off when left unattended for 30 seconds on its side or soleplate.
👤I want to use this iron. I actually like it. It seems to be of good quality. I placed an order for a new unit that was not used. The one I ordered looked like it had been wiped with a wet rag, and it still had a lot of water droplets in the tank. I immediately sent for a new one that had the same issues and a scratch mark. I'm sure the irons work well, but for me it's about principle. You can't sell items as new without telling the buyer. I didn't place an order for a used iron. I've never seen new iron's being delivered with water in the tank, and they don't last long, so this isn't the first time I've bought a new iron. Are these refurbished? Is this a Black + Decker thing? Is anyone else having this experience? The iron seems to be constructed well, but I will be sending it back. Will adjust rating after Black + Decker resolves the issue.
👤I've had three expensive Rowenta irons and each one leaked and had to be trashed. Enough! I read the reviews and decided to try it. It's light... It's shocking how many irons leak. If we can put a man on the moon, you'd think. This iron kind of rocks is for $28. In my first test run on a few shirts and a table cloth, it did a great job, the sole plate is as smooth as Rowenta's. I think it knocked out the wrinkles on the table cloth, which was worse than the Rowenta. I dare! The water tank is too dark to see the water level easily, and "blue" is more gray than blue, according to some other reviews. I'm happy with the purchase so far. I'm not a fan of irons and will update this when I have a chance to break it. If they're going to leak, wouldn't you rather replace a $28 iron every year than a $100 one? Four stars instead of one for the water tank. I'm hoping it will perform well over the next few months and get me to raise it to five stars. There is an update. The iron is still strong nine months later. I iron at least two or three times a week. It's as effective as my previous expensive irons. I increased it to five stars.
👤I have been using Rowenta irons for a long time. I've had four of them. The Rowentas have a poorly designed water tank. The thing was standing on the board on the heel and every one of them developed a leak. The tanks split. I fixed them several times because I'm an engineer and I found replacement tanks. I paid the same amount for a tank as I did for this iron. I tried the iron. The price of Rowenta was three times that of Black and Decker. The features of this iron are very competitive with my Rowenta Pro, for example, the sole plate size is the same, the iron has a nice heft, and the water capacity is good. The Rowenta had 1700 watt power. 1600 watt is what this one is. I just finished my first Shirt Ironing Marathon and the B&D did a great job. Good steam even on the low setting. The Rowenta has a lot of steam holes, but this did a great job on my shirts. We will have to see how this one goes. My last Rowenta is 5 years old and I use it twice a month for 12 or 15 shirts at a time. One person. The B&D iron is still strong. There were no leaks. Works well. Uh, Buh. I would suggest running through the cleaning blast occasionally. I have some water. I use a device to help with that. Over the last 4 years, I have found that it spit white minerals. It's time to get an old towel, crank the iron to high, and press the button to blast more water to the sole plate once you see that. The towel was blasted away with the steam. The gunk will be released by this. I was amazed at how much gunk came out the last time, and more so that it didn't end up on my shirts. Black and Decker has a great product and a great price.
Cut your irradiation time in half. The M200 iron is much faster than traditional irons. It only takes 3 seconds for steam to regenerate, the anti-wrinkle spray, and theStainless steel sole plate smooth's. VERTICAL STEAM: The vertical steam function on the M200 is not only for ironing, but also for hanging garments, and the soft touch grip provides the perfect balance and comfort for upright use. The temperature of the air. Simply turn the dial for a precise temperature and ironing becomes quick and effortless for all your fabrics. STAINLESS STEEL SOLEPLATE. A smooth glide and perfect steam distribution.
👤It was time for a new iron. I used teflon ones and faced sticky burnt stuff on them. The sole plate is made of steel. Love it. Ignore the comments about adding water. It is easy to add water with bottled water. The iron is hot. Lift and hold at the same time. See the photo. This is a good weight. Not too heavy or light.
👤This iron is a huge improvement over the Rowenta that I previously owned. It does what an iron is supposed to do, and that's steam, even at moderate temperature settings. It's designed to be filled while the plate is lying on a flat surface, which is a bit dicey when the iron is hot. I have to turn off the iron, let it cool, and then fill it because it's small enough that you need to fill it with some Frequency. The jug is designed to neatly pour water into the reservoir. The jug works well, but I can't decide if it's a thoughtful touch or a fussy add-on. It is recommended.
👤I did some research before buying this maytag. The model had the most positive reviews. I've used it for sewing and quilting projects for the past six months and it has performed perfectly. It has lots of settings and it heats fast. It's easy to see the water level. It feels good in the hand. I had a bunch of irons at my local stores, but when I tried this one it felt right. The cord is long and flexible. I highly recommend this iron.
👤I received a steam iron and vertical steamer with a self function last week, and I really like it. This Iron is the best iron I have ever owned. I read all the reviews on this iron before I decided to buy it, but since everyone has their own opinions on what they like or don't like about a product, you still have to be your judge when buying a product. If you don't use it for a long time, it will shut itself off, but as soon as you pick it up again, the light will come on to let you know that it has turned back on. I am very happy that I bought this iron, I love ironing more than ever before, and I love the price of this iron as well. If you pay a higher price for an iron, you won't get the results you really need out of it, but this iron is a lot heavier than the iron I use.
👤I bought the M400 because my steamer gave out. I am happy that I bought the steamer. There are some things I like about the iron. The iron comes with a small water fountain that is easy to fill. It makes a click to let me know that it's closed. It has a light indicator that tells me when it's ready to use and it will heat up in 60 seconds. The iron steams my cottons quickly, and even when I make the little kitten whisker in shirts, the iron steams them right out. I didn't give it a 5 rating because it's not easy to see if the temperature control dial is under the small arrow. The steam preference gauge is too close to where I have to grip the handle and it bumps up on my hand. It is difficult to see how much water is in the tank because it is not clear. After ironing up to 3 pairs of pants and 6 shirts, I seem to have some water left in the tank. I have only used the self-cleaning option 4 times. I would recommend the M400 to someone who needs a steam iron.
If the iron is left inactive for 30 seconds on the soleplate or side, or for 8 minutes on the heel rest, the iron will shut down and the power light will blink. The TrueGlide Soleplate provides a smooth glide on all fabrics. The spring- loaded cord is easy to use and store. The fabric guide is printed on the top of the iron. Water spotting can be eliminated by properly heating water before it enters the steam chamber.
👤The iron works. I hope it lasts. My last two irons were Rowentas. I paid a lot more for this iron than I did for the one I got. The steam on this iron is amazing and I am a quilter. I bought it because of the no spit feature.
👤The iron was used and lightly damaged. It was delivered in a plastic bag. There was no original box or paperwork included. This photo was taken after I cleaned it.
👤When I took the iron out of the box, I filled it with water and began to iron, but the iron was not hot enough and it began to leak. I put the iron in a container and returned it.
👤My iron was not the only one that had been used before. It was spitting calcium deposits when I turned it on. This was not a new iron, but rather an old one. I noticed smudges on the handle and dial that weren't mine. Don't buy this iron if you want it to iron dry. The only way to iron dry is to empty the water chamber. I think that is weird.
👤I've been using the brand iron for a long time and it is very easy to use. It has all the features I want, such as a shot of steam and spray. My last two irons only worked for a short time. This isn't a new trend with B&D irons. I still like them.
👤When you read a review on Amazon, you'll think people are lying, but once you read it, you'll rethink buying this iron. I ordered this iron about 2 days ago and decided to use it today because I was excited to have a "no leakage" feature. This was not the case. The clothes, iron board and floor are wet because of the iron leaking. I tried to turn on the iron first and then add the water, but it still leaked, so I added the water again. I spent more time ironing than I usually do. I will be giving back the iron for a full refund.
👤I used to have a Black and Decker iron, but I was encouraged to buy a better iron. I bought the heavier iron because I spent $89 on it. It doesn't steam like Black and Decker did. I ordered a new Black and Decker and I think it is great. This brand of Iron is very good. The performance has never let me down over the past 15 years.
👤It is easy to use. Great deal and product.
The spray mist helps smooth away the deep wrinkling of fabrics. When dry ironing delicate fabrics, switch on the steam setting to help iron out toughwrinkles or turn it off. The iron is designed to regulate water temperatures. There are 7 temperature settings. It is easy to get the perfect heat setting based on fabric type Plus with the intuitive temperature dial and fabric guide. The iron shuts off when left unattended for 30 seconds on its side or soleplate, and after 8 minutes on the heel rest, a power indicator light tells you when the iron is plugged in. Refer to the PDF attached for the technical specification.
👤This is a good iron for ironing clothing. It stays on if it's moving. It's not for the sewist. We need the iron to stay on when we turn away from the iron to sew. This is constant when we sew. It's impossible to keep it on when the auto-off switch is on. Other issues: leaking, spitting, burning fingers, can't see the water level, doesn't hold enough water, no shot-of-steam. It's not worth it. I'm sending this one back and getting a different one that will last 30 minutes before shutting off. Hopefully it works well and lasts for a while. I feel like I'm looking for a decent iron. My dad used to say "It's all about greed, all about money". It's true. Products are not made to last. My mom had irons for her entire life. Those days are over. They want us to buy more and so they make products that are disposable now. It's a sad situation but Dad was correct. All about greed. I was shaking my head.
👤This is like the iron my grandma and mother used. It's what an iron should be. It's heavy, hot, quick-to-heat, completely reliable andadjustable with one easy-to-see dial/lever, CLEAR temperature/fabric-types indicated right where you can see them, and one hole for pouring in water. It feels like you're in a professional laundry, I bought a cable Caddy/holder which keeps the cable up/off the fabric, and this is very helpful. It makes it easy to do. It's a good thing that this looks old-fashioned, but don't be put off by it. No one could complain about this beauty.
👤My husband and I used this iron for a long time. We tried to like it, but we just couldn't stand it. The cheaper Hamilton Beach model works better for us. The plate on this iron is not smooth. I don't like ironing shirts because I can feel the plate catching on them. I don't like non-stick coating in cookware, but I have to concede that it is necessary in an iron. The iron I bought felt like silk compared to this one. I thought it would be a good feature. I don't think the weight helped smooth clothing. It feels heavy for the sake of being heavy. The steam function of this iron is terrible, but I could live with that. The iron was always steaming. It steamed a little bit, but then it would send out a puffed up note. I tried to push the red steam button, but it wouldn't work. It might send out another one 20 seconds later. Maybe. It leaks because there isn't a cover over the water hole if you knock it over. Every other iron I've owned has a cap over it.
👤I love the weight of this Iron but it is dangerous and unsafe and I received a different one. It leaks. The steam doesn't work. 1) The green indicator light goes on and off very quickly. It is possible that the light will only glow when the unit is heating up, but the light will not be visible when it is not. The power cord bends when iron is forced to sit upright. If the iron were to be forced to remain upright, the cords would either bend or break, which is why they call it a danger. The heat plate was tested with equipment. The sole plate has different places that can be as warm as 94 degrees. It seems to be the hottest a bit above the center, but it's second to second. The tester was static even though the sole plate ranged from 79 to 184. There are four I had steam four times during the time it took to iron a 2X men's dress shirt, only when I lifted the iron away from the shirt. That doesn't help anyone. It doesn't help the item you're trying to steam iron. It's not possible to see how much water is left in the lake because there is only a small window to see the maximum level. If you're lucky, you'll be able to see steam as soon as the water goes below the window, but you won't know until the iron stops steaming. 6) The iron is leaking. When an iron is new, it's not a problem to have puddles on an item you're trying to iron. You will get rusty water stains on clothing and ironing board covers as time goes on.
Chi Flat IRON Technology was used. The Chi g2 Flat IRON is the Flagship Chi hair styling tool. Powerful steam for ironing. This IRON has over 300 steam holes and it makes the process of steaming out Wrinkles Smooth and Fast. The guide for fabric. The temperature is set by the IRON and you can choose your fabric type. Control is precise. A unique steam lever can be used to go from no steam to full power in just a few seconds. The handle has a textured grip that gives you complete control. Premium materials have a modern style. The titanium-infused ceramic soleplate is scratch- resistant. This IRON is a polished look thanks to the chrome accents and design.
👤The CHI Professional Iron Steam is a solid performer with many features usually only found on more expensive irons. My other iron is a Rowenta DW5080, which is $30 more expensive than the CHI, but it is similar in looks and features. 1700 watt are the numbers. The handle has a large temperature control dial. Both have spray buttons on top of the iron. Both have 10oz. of water. Both have steam holes. Both have tips that allow you to iron around buttons, pleats, pockets and other challenging areas. Both iron rests have a grip on your ironing board pad. The auto-off features are the same, but there are differences in the auto-off time. The soleplate is the biggest difference between the two irons. The CHI has a ceramic soleplate and the Rowenta has a steel soleplate. I wanted to try this iron because of the soleplate. I iron a lot of cotton and linen shirts. Cleaning off the soleplate is a chore and sometimes a major one. I have heard that ceramic soleplates are easier to clean. The iron is not what I would call a lightweight iron. Depending on how much arm strength you have, weight is important. Heavy cottons, linen and denim can be ironing with irons because they are heavier and you don't have to apply as much pressure. If you iron lighter weight clothing and fabrics, the extra weight isn't necessary and can be tiring. I iron a lot of natural fabrics that are prone to wrinkling but this iron handled them well. I had to use more pressure than I did with my Rowenta. The steam it produces is needed to iron out the wrinkling in cotton and linen, even though it got hot enough for denim. The surface of the soleplate is similar to a non-stick pan. It's so much easier to clean than a mirror polished stainless steel soleplate, because it glides over fabric more smoothly. Set the temp to the highest linen setting for 2 minutes and then iron over a damp, 100% cotton cloth like a dishcloth. I tested it with a heavy spray of spray starch and it came off without any need for an iron cleaner. This is a big plus for me as I have to make my husband's shirts. The ceramic soleplates are more fragile than the wooden ones. Ironing over metal items can damage the ceramic coating, so you need to take care. Don't scrub it with a metal pad or a cleanser. The steam holes in the soleplate produce steam even while ironing. It is as easy to fill the water reservoir as any other iron. Put 10 ounces of water into the container. I measured. I suggest using a small measuring cup. If you add too much water, you will get drips because the red water reservoir is hard to see. Even though the red is stylish, I hope CHI will consider a clear reservoir in the future. If you have very hard water, CHI says to use distilled water. You can use the tap water all the time. You can set the amount of steam with a lever above the temperature dial. There is a self-cleaning button to keep the steam holes free of mineral build-up. There is an anti-drip feature that prevents drips when dry ironing silk that will easily water spot. The 10 ft. cord is something I love. It's 2 feet longer than my Rowenta and it makes a difference. The auto-off feature is nice. The iron shuts off in 30 seconds if it's left face down or tipped. If you sit up, it shuts off in 30 minutes. It isn't turning off all the time, so it's great for people who sew or quilt, as they don't have to wait for it to heat up again. A good iron is important to me because I sew a lot. If you iron clothing a lot and use spray starch, this is a great iron because of the ease with which you can clean the soleplate. It also offers superior performance without the weight of many premium irons for people with minimal arm strength. If you iron heavy,wrinkle-prone fabrics on a regular basis, a heavier, stainless steel soleplate makes ironing easier and it goes faster because of the weight of the iron. Since I iron clothing and all sorts of fabric on a regular basis, I'm happy to have both irons. Different irons for different ironing needs is a question that should be asked. The CHI iron makes ironing my husband's shirts much easier. There was an update on 4/12/2018. I also have the Manual Controls with Retractable Cord version of this iron. It is the same iron as the base model, but with a few extra goodies. It has a retractable cord. I don't have to worry about cats or kids messing with the iron cord because it's safer for me to let it cool down. The retractable version has a shorter cord than the standard corded version. Both irons have the same controls. The retractable cord version of the soleplate has more steam holes than the titanium ceramic version, but it is a bit longer. The steam feature is good for people who use it a lot. The coiled cord inside is a little heavier than the retractable cord iron because it is taller. The retractable cord version is a bit easier to fill than the port where you add water. The same iron with a retractable cord and a steam hole soleplate is all that is different. If you're trying to decide between the two models, you have to decide if you want the retractable cord or the larger number of steam holes.
10X more corrosive than non-steam iron. Non-stick can get scratched or wear off quickly. The Durathon Nonstick Soleplate Iron is made to last with a durable non-stick that resists wear and tear. 80% more steam is used for surgical procedures. Wrinkles are not a chance. The steam iron for clothes takes them out faster than you think. It's easy to store with retractable cords. The cord stays out of your way when you don't need it. One-tOUCH TEMPERATURE CONTROL. The clothes iron can be operated with a finger. To turn the iron on or off, simply press the temperature settings button. 3 way auto shut off. If the iron falls on its face or side, it will turn off within 30 seconds or 15 minutes. All Hamilton Beach irons are pre-tested at the factory to make sure they are of the highest quality. The steam chamber may show condensation from this test.
👤I have always bought the Durathon iron from Hamilton Beach because of its superior soleplate. The low wattage was my only complaint. This iron is the best iron on the market at one of the lowest prices you will ever find. The iron is very hot, gets very hot quickly, produces mega steam, and of course the soleplate is easy to clean with a damp towel or a plastic scrubby sponge, if you forget to wipe off the starch after each use. The self cleaning button works. As it warms up, just slightly overfill the water tank, tilt the iron downward in the sink, and let it rip. As the brown water drips out of the steam holes, the burnt up starch will loosen. You have to get this iron to experience its features. All irons today don't last more than a year or two, so why spend a lot of money on expensive irons? If you can afford it, you can get 2 or three, so you don't have to worry about electrical problems anymore. There was an update on 8-19. Two years of daily use is still going strong. The non-stick soleplate did not cause a burn on the starch. The iron is in good working order because of the self cleaning feature. The price for a great iron is $34. The troll commented on how bad the iron was. Their perception of iron is the problem. Don't let it stop you from buying this iron.
👤I own a lot of Hamilton Beach products. All of them function well. I was surprised and disappointed to receive this particular item. The model is #19901. The iron is very strong. A nice looking iron. It was a good hefty feel. Digital control and display. There was a lot of steam. The retractable cord is awesome. It glides across clothes. This item sprung a leak, which was the only problem. I made sure to not overfill. The iron was allowed to heat up, and the display blinked until it was ready, and then it gave a small noise to let you know it was ready. I lifted the iron and started ironing. The water started leaking from the shirt. I put the iron back on the ironing board and it was leaking. The iron's base was not from the sole plate. I was very disappointed. I think it's a brand new box. It was not good. I'm not the only one with iron issues. Very disappointing. I was very excited to receive this iron. I tried it out and was punched in the gut. I'm returning the iron and getting another one. I'll have to choose another brand if the replacement is bad. It was a shame.
👤Let's begin with this. I'm a quilter who works 8 hours a day. I rely on a solid iron in my world. I bought an iron last year for $100. I swore I would never spend that much money on an iron again after tossing it. If I have to replace it in a year, I would rather buy a bargain. We are here. I bought this based on reviews. I am not impressed. I like it. The sole plate makes a smooth ironing surface. My husband's shirts have never looked better. It is light weight and feels like a toy. It has the right amount of weight for me. There is a The nice thing about it is that it comes back on when I hit the button to restart it, even though it has an auto off feature. That feature is awesome. It is very hot quickly. The water tank is easy to see. I love the retractable cord. I will never go without that feature again. This one works better than my last one. It's hard to fill without spilling. The fill spout has a cover that makes it easy to fill the iron in a container. The hole is small and seems to shrink as I pour... I keep a jug of water in my sewing room and I usually pour the excess water back into the jug for ironing. It is impossible with this iron. A spray of water is created when the iron is empty. The settings plate is difficult to read and the button placement is awkward. They didn't do their research. Our eyes become red as we get older and it becomes difficult to see. My vision is good, I find myself squinting to read the settings. You can't see the read out under your thumb, so nothing matters. Whose idea was it? The problem was solved if the button was under the screen. It is sufficient for my use. I'm happy with my purchase. I haven't been using it in a while. I'm curious to see how well the sole plate holds up. I think I'll be in the market for a new iron in 12 to 15 months. We will see.
ATTENTION. Before purchasing, please check the size chart and choose the right one. Pay attention to the length of the sole. The steam distribution is perfect for sewers, quilters and crafter. Easy Thermostat Control. The ideal steam output and temperature can be selected based on fabric type. The placement, alignment and size of their steam holes give you the maximum amount of steam required while maintaining even heat distribution throughout the soleplate. With their Rapid Even Heat Technology and 1700-Watts of Power, you can cut your ironing time in half. The PurSteam steam iron provides ideal temperatures for cotton, wool, silk, linen, nylon and more. Their automatic 3-way shut off system keeps you safe at all times. The best quality is ensured by their rigorous testing process. Every iron is filled with water and tested to make sure it works. Their support will make sure you're satisfied.
👤My Rowenta puffed its last burst of steam after six years. I wanted to replace it with a less expensive iron. The PurSteam iron reminds me of the GE model that I grew up with. The PurSteam with B&D is the best steam iron I've used. I was surprised that the PurSteam has a nice, comfortable heft despite its size. I used less steam to iron on the trial run than I did on the Rowenta. The settings and steam/dry controls are easy to use. The vertical steam feature was a selling point. If you need an excellent iron, go with this one.
👤I am impressed with this iron. It is not heavy to use for long periods of time. The soleplate glides along the fabric. I was concerned that the temperature selector was located below the handle. The iron that was replaced had a temperature selector below the handle. My fingers hit the temperature switch when I picked up that iron. After using the Pur Stream iron several times, I am happy that I have not hit the temperature. I usually don't read user manuals much. TheAdvice for Good Ironing section of Pur Stream's manual is worth reading and I was happy to read it. It showed how to iron different fabrics. The iron is very cheap. I spent more money on a brand name iron that did not perform as well as this one. Highly recommended.
👤I received this iron as a promotional offer, and although I wasn't looking for new irons, I figured we could use a new one since the one we have is 10 years old and is somewhat unpredictable. There are many things I like about this iron. The display screen is a nice feature, and I like the variety of options. The iron is pretty fancy and has a light up display screen, but it is not complicated or high tech. If I don't have an ironing board, I can use the steam button. I just want to get some work done. I have never seen a self clean button before. I could have used that when we lived in a house that had well-water, as hard water can really take a toll on your appliances. The auto-shut off feature is a must. If you are one of those people who don't trust the auto shut off and prefer to always unplugged your appliances, the warning beep is a good reminder. If you are still planning to come back to it, it is helpful if you don't want it to shut off yet. The user manual is easy to read and straightforward, so I appreciate it. It is written in English, not 10 other languages that have smallserif and 25pages long. I haven't used this iron to notice any flaws yet. I will update my review if there is something new. I am confident that this iron will last a long time.
👤Not new at all. The box had some water spots inside and a lot of scratches on the outside. The water filling cup was damaged. I just wanted to see if I could get lucky. You guys were unlucky. Not impressed!
