👤I thought these would be flimsy, but we were hanging hummingbird feeders, so that's ok. They are heavy gauge sturdy steel. The deck railing is secured very well. They look good and are finished. I would be comfortable hanging any plant or bird from these. Highly recommended.
👤It's perfect for my balcony. I bought a birdfeeder because I noticed birds in the neighborhood, but I didn't know how difficult it would be to hang it. This hook worked perfectly for my balcony railing. The construction is sturdy and classy. It's easy to screw on.
👤The top rail of our balcony is curved, so I was hesitant to order this. If I couldn't get it to stay on, I could always return it. I made sure it was tight before I added the bird feeders. It has been three weeks since it was installed and it is holding up quite well. I check it from time to time to make sure it hasn't loosened and it's still just as tight as when it was first put up. Very happy with it.
👤I ordered three and two of them were perfect. The third hole was tapped at an angle. I didn't notice until I tightened it up, but it was clear since the knob was only flush in one position. As I tightened it up, it would flush. It wouldn't be flush after another turn. I got some vice grips and used them to really crank down on it, because it seemed like a pain to return one of them. The photo shows how it is positioned. If you want to fill the 1/2 inch gap that the clamp doesn't close all the way, you'll need something. I used some wood. The plants are just right to hang off my fire escape.
👤The hook has worked well on my balcony deck. I needed something that was easy to assemble and strong. I bought it a year ago and it has held up well over the years. I took it down a few times for powerful storms with wind and hail, but there were also storms where I forgot about it and it withstood the weather very well. One of the best purchases during the Pandemic was the addition of a bird feeders to our deck. In a dark time, seeing birds at the feeders in the morning has brought me joy. Thanks for the hook! Purchasing another for a second feeding station is a must.
👤It can hold a lot of weight. I bought it to hold the hummingbird feeders. I don't have a lot of overhang to attach it to, so it was difficult to get it on my deck railing. We were able to get it to work. My cat loves to sit and wait for the birds. No birds were harmed when the feeder was moved. I have to figure out something else to hang from the hook.
👤This is not a lightweight hook. When I opened the box, I was so impressed that I put it on my deck. The hook is sturdy, well designed and the best part! It is virtually impossible to fall down because of a hole in the brackets. I have a planter on my petunias. You can't get a decent Shepard's hook for this price. I will probably buy another one, I love it. I will buy another one because it has more security than the one I already have. The hook is not moving. No. I was not bribed to write this, but when I find a good buy? I am sharing a review.
It can hold up to 30 ounces of nectar. The bright red hummingbird feeders have 32 ounces of hummingbird food in them. The feeding ports and perches are arranged in a way that makes it easy for birds to feed at the same time. It was made in the USA. There is a roof resale. The base of the bird feeders is sealed by the mouth of the reservoir. After flipping the container over, the feeder won't leak even if it's upside down. An animal guard is needed for hummingbird feeders. An ant moat is attached to the top of the feeders. If you fill it with water, you can drive away bugs. The hummingbird's food should be pure and free of any bugs. The endocannabinoid design is ERGONOMIC. The wide mouth and 2-part base make it easy to clean and fill. You can always know when to refill with clear hard plastic. Not dishwasher safe, hand-wash only. SecuringHANGING: No tools are required. A hummingbird feeders is placed on a tree. The feeder should be hung from a height of 5 feet. Enjoy watching the birds.
👤This is my first hummingbird feeders and it is amazing. I took a picture after hanging it. The hummingbirds love it. The chain made hanging the ant moat easy. It doesn't leak at all. Several more people were waiting for their turn in the feeder yesterday. I was hoping to get a couple of hummingbirds and not the whole neighborhood. I will have to order another feeder to keep up with the demand. I highly recommend it.
👤It attracted a lot of bees because it leaks. The hummingbirds didn't dare to drink anymore at that point because there were so many bees. The yellow flowers attract bees. I attached a lace with tea tree oil drops on it and painted them red. The bees stayed away and the hummingbirds came back. Love them.
👤I love this feeder... The cup on the top is great. There are no ants in the feeders. I read in one of the reviews that removing the yellow flowers would draw more birds, so I tried taking off a few, but it was too late. Without the flower, the bees were able to get through the holes. I put the flowers back on. This is a very good price.
👤After my husband bought me a glass feeder at a local store at my request, it fell and broke after 2 days of use. I have always bought glass because it is easier to clean. I found this feeder while I was on Amazon. It is great. It has a large opening that can be used to clean it. I received it quickly. Definitely recommend.
👤I had a leaking hummingbird feeders. I ordered the two pack after trying this one. I am very disappointed. The feeders leak out of the ports when the hummingbirds are feeding. They keep on dripping! I wanted to replace them but they are leaking worse than I had. They are lightweight and swinging in the wind.
👤These hummingbird feeders are the best I have tried so far. They hold a lot of the flower. The price is reasonable. I bought two things, one for an easy replacement for the first one that runs out, and the other for an empty one, so I can fill the spare one first and hang it, and then clean out the empty one. Great feeders. The maker and supplier are thanked.
👤I don't like the way you fill up with the stuff, it's not strong to resist the wind, and I waste some dropping it, it's made out of plastic, so I don't like it. The colors are the only thing that makes me want to look at it. There are better products.
👤The feeders seem to be easy to clean. On the product description page, it states that the base section is easily separated. I can't get my hands apart because I'm getting old. I don't have a secret to getting them apart. They're ok, and a lot less expensive than buying from the manufacturer.
👤It was better than the old one. It's not hard to clean and it looks like the picture.
It holds 32 ounces of nectar. The high view perch of the feeders invites hummingbirds to rest comfortably as they drink from any of the four feeding ports while also offering an unobstructed view of the birds. The bowl can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly if the cover is removed. It is made of polycarbonate.
👤We had been using the typical hummingbird feeders, but they were difficult to clean. They were attracted to them because they could easily eat from them. We didn't think much of the bees and the wasp until we saw the little hummingbirds being attacked. The wasp can kill the birds easily as they are small and possessive over the feeders. We ordered a HummZinger and have been very pleased with it. It is very easy to clean. You can wash the entire thing if the top lifts off. The wasp can't get to the nectar. There is a handy "ant moat" in the center of the feeder that can be filled with water if you have the problem of ants crawling down the hanger. The hummingbirds in our little mill village are very happy and they've thought of everything with this feeder. Thank you for the great product! I like to help others make informed decisions by taking the time to review purchases, and I know that I rely on them myself. If my review helped you, please click theHelpful button.
👤The reply I got from the Aspects company was about a number of feeders that broke. Thank you for taking the time to write. I am so sorry to hear of the problems you are having. We have heard from many consumers who have purchased through Amazon and are having issues. We can't guarantee authenticity of the feeders they are selling under the Aspects logo because we don't sell our products directly to Amazon. Any Birding or Lawn & Garden store that sells direct would carry authentic Aspects products, with a Lifetime Guarantee.
👤The bees took over my hummingbird feeders. Try to get rid of the bees by avoiding feeders with the color yellow, use a moreDiluted 1:5 sugar/water blend, give bees their own nearby feeders with yellow accents, and hang hummingbird feeders in the shade. Nothing worked. The "bee-proof" feeders from First Nature attracted more bees than the standard First Nature feeders. They were piled high around the feeders. I bought a Perky Pet feeders with bee guards and thought it would do the trick. Nope. I went to a hummingbird forum for help after I realized that the inverted-style feeders with the center reservoir can't be considered bee-proof, especially when it's hot. They said to use saucer-style feeders, especially the HummZinger line. I chose the 12 oz HighView feeders because it has a decent capacity and I was interested in the fact that it is one of their bigger feeders. The feeders are compatible with Aspects tips that are designed to keep flying insects out of the feeders. I decided to try the feeders without the guards first, but I would be happy to add them in the future. The HummZinger High View feeders are easy to use, with a clear plastic bowl and a red cover that pops on and off. It's made of unbreakable polycarbonate and comes with a lifetime guarantee. You can either mount it on a post/pole, or screw the included brass hanger rod into the center of the clear bowl and hang it. I hung the First Nature feeders from the same shepherd's hook that I hung the other one from, because I wanted to make sure bees wouldn't get to them. I was curious how the bees would respond to the new style of feeders. Our hummingbirds are always out and about before the bees, and they immediately took to the new feeders. They seem to prefer the First Nature feeders during the times when they're not covered in bees, but that could be because they've been drinking from them longer and are used to them. They appreciate the hummzinger feeders when the bees are in the yard. The bees were ready to eat their usual breakfast. When they couldn't access the sugar, they decided to look for another source of sugar. How does the HummZinger feeders keep bees out? Simple. There are no bee guards and the feeding ports are standard. The bees can't drink the nectar because of the distance between the feeding port and the nectar. The bees won't be able to reach the 12 oz line if you fill the nectar all the way to it. The hummingbirds have long tongues that can reach even to the bottom of the bowl. If you only have a couple of hummingbirds and don't want to throw away a lot of food, you can fill the bowl with just the 4 oz or 6 oz line. Even though the bees can't access the nectar, nothing can stop them from trying. If there are a few drops of nectar around the feeding port openings, they will be motivated to try. When the hummingbirds pull their beaks out of the feeding ports after drinking, a drop or two of their saliva will fall out and attract bees and other insects. I usually don't bother with that because there's nothing to be done except to wipe the outside of the feeders clean with a wet cloth or paper towel. When the bees discover they can't access the nectar, they give up and just a few bees will keep the hummingbirds away. Mineral oil or non-stick cooking spray are not recommended as they could harm the hummingbirds and are not recommended for feeding ports. While bees can't access the nectar, little flies and other flying insects can fit through the feeding port openings and drown in it. That's an issue with every hummingbird feeders I have. That's where the tips could be useful. The inverted-style feeders have to be emptied, but this one can be opened and closed without having to do that. If you see an insect swimming in the clear bowl, you can open the feeders and catch it. It's possible to add or remove nectar without having to empty and clean the feeders. When the hummingbirds drink from the clear bowl, you can see the ripples in the nectar, which is pretty cool. If you want to prevent the growth of mold andbacteria, you should replace the nectar every three days and clean the feeder every two days. There are only two pieces and no hidden crevices to trap mold or intricate flower-shaped feeding ports. You just rinse with hot water. There is no need to remove the brass hanger rod. You can put this one in the dishwasher.
SecuringHANGING: No tools are required. A hummingbird feeders is placed on a tree. The feeder should be hung from a height of 5 feet. Enjoy watching the birds. It is easy to fill and clean the wide-mouth base. The innovative seal ring aids in leak prevention. Red base attracts hummingbirds.
👤If you are trying to get something that is difficult for the bees to get into, don't choose these feeders. I will go back to the kind that have the white caging. I have never seen so many insects in my backyard, it is the new watering hole for insects and they chase off the hummingbirds. When I don't think I can get attacked, I will take them down.
👤The biggest thing I want to stress is not to kill the honeybees. They are important to life no matter how annoying they are. It might be tempting to off them when you can't leave your home, but keep trying. It took me about 24 hours to deter them, and if the solution that worked for me doesn't work anymore, I will update you and keep trying. It's foolish to kill honeybees just so we can enjoy looking at hummingbirds. I took the bee soapbox off and held onto it. I got two of these last season because they didn't have yellow on them, which is why bee guards are yellow. That seems cruel. They were promoted as easy to clean. I didn't have any problems with bees last year, but I think I got them too late. The bees had their feeding spots picked out. They are revolting this year. I tried to make my own bee guards, but they only worked on some of the holes, so the bees covered the two holes they could still get in. It was a problem going in and out without bees because the one they loved was by my back door. I moved it to another location, and they just swarmed the empty area where the hummingbird's favorite location was. There is a bee guard hung there. When I put it in the same location, they swarmed it, but they realized they couldn't get into it. They were clustered around the base of the flowers, and I'm guessing some of the sugar water dribbled out there, and they left when it was all gone. I saw a review that talked about how to make the hole smaller, so I'll try that tonight since my homemade bee guards weren't very useful. I wish First Nature would make bee guards for these feeders because everything else about them is perfect. They aren't very pretty, but they are my favorite feeders. Successes: 1. So far, it has been success. Eliminate the source at their favorite location and replace it with a bee guard. Failures: 1. Fail. The bees would go to a stronger sugar source and put out a yellow bowl to attract them, according to my reading. I used a 1 sugar:2 water ratio. I had the ratio backwards when I read it this morning. It's not certain if that would have worked since they went to the 1:2 over the 1:4. I put it next to their favorite feeders and left it there when I removed it. They were not interested. If you do try this, keep the liquid level just slightly above the pebbles so the bees don't drown. 2. Fail. All red feeders. They swarmed the red one and ignored the yellow ones. They liked that location. 3. Fail. It should be put in the shade. It has more shade than any of the other feeders. They did not care. 4. Fail. There are flowers. We have a lot of flowers. It didn't seem to matter. The neighbor's flowers are close to my favorite feeders, but they didn't seem to care.
Colorful hummingbird feeders are more attractive outdoors. The garden home will be more active. Your love lasts more. Birds enjoy their hummingbird feeders. Hummingbird feeders have upgraded seals that help prevent leaks. The base is made of metal and is not easy to rust. The plastic is tasteless. The hummingbird feeders make sure that the nectar is not polluted. The bubbles on the surface of the glass are enough to prove that the hummingbird feeders are not susceptible to fading and damage. To clean and fill their hummingbird feeders, you just need to remove the bottle from the base and clean it with a brush. The wide mouth and transparent glass make it easy to see the volume. They want to make sure you are completely satisfied with the hummingbird feeders. They will give you a full refund if you don't like the hummingbird feeders.
👤Really like this. We got no customers at first. There was interest, but few people took it. They preferred the other one. They got a lot of customers if the perches were straight. They don't like leaning too far forward.
👤If you want a hummingbird feeders to look at something attractive, then you'll be happy with this. You could get a wind chime or some other doodad. It was designed for human enjoyment and not for hummingbirds. The perches are too high relative to the opening. Hummingbirds don't like feeding at this angle. If you want to keep the feeders, bend them. The inside of the connection to the basin is very rough. I've tried to take a close-up picture of the jagged metal. Why does this matter? hummingbirds have long tongues An image of a hummingbird tongue was attached. The tongue will be inserted into the center of the metal flower to get the liquid. The tongue will come in contact with the inside of the tube and basin. They will scratch and cut their tongues against these feeders. Hummingbirds will check this out a few times and then stop visiting your feeders. I thought about putting wax over the rough edges to fix the connections. But then I wondered why. It should work if I buy something new. I bought a plain feeder with eight openings and a basin below, not the large one in the middle above. I can see more hummingbirds, and more of them without some central obstruction, when they are like this one. That way you can see the hummingbirds, not just a sparkling glass object.
👤I rarely write product reviews on Amazon, but this one is worth it. I got this as I was looking for some decorations for my garden, and maybe add some fun. I put it on the tree for a few days to get a good look. I think it worked better than just a decoration. It attracted many birds as well as others. Everyone in our family was surprised. It doesn't seem to collect dust or deposits very fast, so you can just clean it once a week. The anti-ant feature is a plus. I didn't need to buy one separately. Looking forward to more fun. If anyone is looking for a little bit more fun, vividness in their garden, it is definitely one thing to consider.
👤There are only four feeding ports on the small hummingbird glass feeders. Because of the territorial nature of hummingbirds, you're unlikely to see more than one at a time. No matter. Couples and their babies will take turns when another leaves. My hummingbirds adapted to the perches being higher than the ports, even though they are not equal to or lower to the ports. The opening is roughly 2 inches. The base pieces are easy to clean. If mold builds up, you need a bottle brush. The port piece fits inside the base and I like it. The feeders comes with a metal ant moat, a brush to clean the ports, an S-hook for hanging, and twine for attracting birds. The regular S-hook and the ant moat were not steep enough to give me confidence that the feeders would stay on. I was afraid that the feeder would crash to the ground on a windy day because I hang from an elevated deck. I hung mine from the copper ant moat that I already had, which has a much sharper hook. If you hang yours closer to the ground, the thickness of the glass will likely cause a short fall. If you fill it with water, it will likely evaporate in a day or less. It will last most of the season if you put a few drops of vegetable oil in the bottom. The colors remind me of glass. I think colored glass feeders make it less likely that mold will grow inside, but you should still change it twice a week in hotter weather. Wesselmann was named after Deborah Lee Wesselmann.
Holds up to 32 ounces of liquid. The plastic base of this feeder has four flower-shaped feeding ports, which can hold up to 28 ounces of nectar. It has a perch around the base where birds can rest as they feed and an upgraded rubber seal that prevents leaking. The design of the blown-glass reservoir features attractive yellow and red coloring that will draw in the hummingbirds. They like red and yellow more than any other color. The hummingbird feeders are individually blown and hand-made by a skilled craftsman. The jar is made of glass. This container is strong enough to hold the nectar. The bottle won't crack easily. Its bright red color can bring birds. The wide fill-mouth makes it easy to clean, and the feeding stations feature small red flower designs to attract the hummingbirds. The wide mouth seals the frame with a leakproof rubber O-ring and a wire perch. They provide a 1-year warranty on this hummingbird feeders. If there is a problem with their hummingbird feeders, please contact them to get a replacement or refund.
👤I love it! Both Hummingbird and small finches like pretty. I had a cheap bird feeders that only hummingbird would stop by and it would not stay long but with this one, different birds would stop by and stay for a while.
👤I have used a variety of hummingbird feeders. This is my favorite. First of all, it's beautiful. It's a work of art that hangs from my house. It's very easy to clean. It holds over four cups of nectar. It seems like it would be vulnerable, but it's not. The hook is strong and the glass is thick. The rubber fitting that you can use to seal the hummingbird feeders is one of the reasons I like it. If you get too many bees at a later date, you will be grateful you still have them, because you don't need to use the bee guards. It has fewer places to drink from than most feeders. This location only has one bird dominating the entire feeders, so it's not a problem for me. If you need a lot of places to drink from, it might not be the right choice. I would recommend it to anyone who is on the fence. It would be a nice gift to other hummingbird fans.
👤Thank you for making a feeding port that is not made of metal. I threw out my last glass feeding port because it had a metal feeding port. I didn't want my hummingbirds drinking from a rusty feeders because of the metal base's signs of rust. It is my opinion that no metal base should be used in a hummingbird feeders. The feeder is easy to clean. Most times my hummingbirds sit on the little perches while drinking or just to rest. I love this feeder. Thank you for the quality and safe feeder.
👤The hummingbirds love it and fight over it. This is the best feeder I have ever purchased, it is easy to clean and fill, and I like the rubber seal on the bottom to keep it from leaking. It took me a while to figure out how to screw the bottom on so that the perch stays by the flower, but you just have to hold both parts at the same time. I will buy another one for my mother for her birthday. It is perfect.
👤The plastic feeder that goes on the bottom was ok. I contacted the seller but did not hear back. The glass part is nice, but useless without the feeder.
👤People complained about the plastic melting in the reviews. They were impatient and didn't wait for the hot sugar water to cool down. I waited until it was warm enough to pour. The recommended amount is 1 part sugar and 4 parts water, which is perfect for the size of this feeder. Within a day or two. The hummingbirds showed up. I was very excited. I love this thing. It is easy to clean. I use the same thing as you do for a humidifier, white vinegar and water, with a disposable mascara brush or a brush for my metal straws to clean the holes where the birds feed. To remove the vinegar, rinse well.
We want to make sure you are completely satisfied with the hummingbird feeders. They will give you a full refund if you don't like the hummingbird feeders. These feeders are constructed in a red shade to attract hummingbids. The 32 ounce capacity has 8 ports. There is a sturdy construction. It is made with high-impact polycarbonate and brass. FEEDER TIPS The hummingbirds will find your feeders sooner if you hang them near salvia or fuschia. Food dye is not recommended for nectar. They currently operate out of a 50,000 square feet manufacturing facility in Chilton, Wisconsin, and employ 45 awesome team members, and are committed to designing and creating the best darn products in their niches. The product includes a hummingbird feeders. The material is high- impact and has a red base.
👤Over the years, I have gone through 8 to 12 hummingbird feeders. They all sucked. Cheap plastic parts, difficulty cleaning, inadequate volume of nectar, and other common denominators were the things that were applicable to every feeder. One can learn to deal with those issues. The deal breaker for me was the fact that not one of my previous feeders had a good solution to keep other pests out and away. Until now! The design of the device makes it difficult for insects that aren't your target audience to get into it. The feeding wells are too deep for insects. A hummers long beak is the only way to get to the nectar. This feeder is heavy duty. You don't have to refill it every other day because it holds 32 ounces. The device is sturdy and well made, despite some parts being plastic. When it is a little windy, it takes a tilt before it spills. Look no further. This is the most important part of hummingbird feeders. I have four of them, two in front and two in back. I counted 23 hummers visiting one of the two I have in front of my house. It's a real air traffic control hazard during the morning and evening. It's amazing!
👤This one won my vote after reviewing every design. The product has the best of features. The design is simple and effective, and if you read the instructions, you can't go wrong. The hummingbirds are feeding. I prefer the plastic base over metal because I like sitting on the outer rings. The bottle is made of glass. I don't miss the yellow flowers that attract mold, it doesn't appear that the hummingbirds care one way or another. That's another plus. It is very easy to take apart and reassemble. When I hang it up, I gently jiggle the feeder to make sure the liquid fills the base. It doesn't take long and you'll see rising bubbles in the bottle neck getting smaller as the air in the base is displaced. I haven't had a problem with bees or wasp trying to steal the goods. I have it on a free-standing garden hook. When I swapped out my old feeders for this one, I had to wait a few days for a hummer to show up. Maybe they didn't like the change, missed the yellow flowers, or weren't attracted to it for other reasons. Discouraging! I walked into a bombing mission that 888-349-8884 I retreated from their air space and made more honey.
👤We used the Perky Pet 8 oz glass bottlefeeder with 4 ports and yellow bee guards for about 3 weeks and it worked out great. We've seen a lot of hummers feeding at these. No problem. The wasp came along last week at our house. And it was over. They took complete control, and in 3 days time all the hummers had been chased away. My husband couldn't brush him away because his head was stuck in it. I tried to make sure the guards were on properly and not too close to the nectar, washing, scrubbing, even painting the yellow guards red with non toxic paint. All to no avail. We never saw birds at the feeders after 3 days because the wasp was chasing the hummers. We didn't see any in a week. The hummers are back after this wonderful item came in the mail yesterday. It was very entertaining to watch the wasp fly around this thing, trying to get into the ports, but they couldn't get to the necro. They can't believe they've made multiple attempts. They finally gave up this afternoon and the sweet hummers came back! Our deck has been an excellent testing ground for this product. We had a wasp orgy on our deck. We haven't seen a single wasp after the above review.
The materials are recycled. The item is made from recycled materials. The hummingbirds are attracted to the bright red color. First Nature hummingbird feeders are the easiest feeders to clean. Several hummer's will be accommodated at a time with the feeding ports. You can mix the correct proportions with First Nature hummingbird concentrate.
👤I've had 3 of them. The easiest way to clean is with a bottle brush. There was a bee problem. Yellow jackets would land and then crawl inside. Check the picture. Just cut a small piece of fishing line and put a dot of superglue on either side of the hole to hold it in place. The bees can no longer crawl in the hole after this cut. You don't need to color your water. Do a 4:1 water to sugar mix. Keep the concentrate in the freezer. To make a 4:1 water sugar mix, you need 3:1 water and 4:1 water.
👤I have spent a lot of money looking for a perfect feeder but have been disappointed by the features. I didn't want a plastic feeder. I have 6 of these on my patio because they are easy to clean, hold 32 fluid ounces, and allow the hummingbirds to perch while feeding. This is a very good feeder. The red powder can kill the hummingbirds, so never buy it in stores. The bright red top and base of the feeders are all you need to attract the hummingbirds.
👤It was great for two days. The bees love it so much that they block every hole until it is drained, even though the hummingbirds don't get to use it. This doesn't happen with my older feeders. The design of the holes in the feeders is too large, giving access to the bees. I hope I can return all three of them once I find a way to remove the bees without hurting them.
👤The hummingbird feeders I have used for a long time have been made cheaply and are thin and split after just a few washes. I had this since April 29 and the plastic has split. They need to go back to making them a little bit bigger.
👤It is easy to clean and refill. I use water with sugar in it. I started with more concentrated sugar water and the hummingbirds seemed to get used to it, and now there's almost always at least a few drinking around it. I have at least three woodpeckers that drink from it as well. The hooded orioles seem to be interested in it. I'm not sure if they get to the liquid, but they keep coming back. I might have to look for a bigger version as it is completely dried out within a day and a half. There is a sticker on the outside of the feeder that can't be removed cleanly. I can't remove the glue from the clear side plastic. I don't like this kind of glue. The plastic of the feeder gets very cold. I poured a little warm sugar water into it and now it doesn't hold up. The top red portion seems to be on the verge of being disassembled. It's only a partial success if you try to glue it back. When using this, keep that in mind.
👤These feeders are perfect if you go through a lot of sugar water. It was easy to clean and fast to ship. Make your own drink. 4 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar. Stir sugar in until it's cool and serve.
The round and flat dish design of the hummingbird feeders makes it easy to clean and fill them. It is easy to monitor levels and cleanliness from the bottom of the feeder. It's easy to attract a hummingbird. The hummingbird can see the red color of the top cover from a distance. Humming birds can get on that. The hummingbird feeders are called the Nectar Guard. Pack: Put water in the hole to protect it. Their hummingbird feeders are leak-proof because they don't exit pressure difference. It doesn't need to be turned upside down to not have a leak. The materials of the base are strong. It is recommended to clean the saucer feeders at least once a week. You can clean the feeders more frequently if the weather is warm.
👤There is an update. I like this feeder and have been for 4 weeks. It is fun to have the little hummers humming at my home office window. I like it. It is my first Humming Bird Feeder and I read a lot of reviews of it. Key point. The hummers found it on the first day, and then came back on the second and third day. It looks like they brought friends. I put the feeders outside of my home office window so that I can hear them when they come by. It was fun. They are looking at me through the window. One humming bird looked at me through my window for a week, and that's why I ordered this feeder. Seemed like he/she was talking. Or maybe just curious. The hummingbird is the best. This design has the whole bottom half as a big dish. The supply bowl is there. You don't need to turn it upside down, there are no submerged joints to leak from. A tight seal isn't necessary. The liquid is always below the birds. They eat it. There is only one big bowl that doesn't have a place to leak from. It also means that bees can't reach far enough. The lid doesn't need to be sealed. That is great. The problems are solved by this design. I think this design would be great for someone with arthritis or low hand strength, because there is no twisting needed to refill the feeders. The lid is held on by gravity. It works well. There are 3 more The humming birds were already on the red top of the feeders. They had no problems figuring it out. There are four The bottom of the feeder is clear, so you can easily monitor levels. I was told not to add red coloring to the food because it is not better, could be dangerous, and is not needed because the top is red. It works well because there is a lot of red built-in. The hummers understand. There are five There are no problems with ants because of the separate compartment at the center of the metal hanger. You fill that with water for two reasons. The hummers like it. The ants can't get past it. All good! I thought the 2 pack of feeders was great because it guarantees I have a spare. The little guys need to eat every 20 minutes. Aumming bird food recipe has 1/2 cup of white sugar. 2 cups of water is enough to replicate flower nectar. The water should be boiled or almost boiled. The sugar should be completely dissolved. It takes about 1-2 minutes. Let the heat go off. Don't add coloring. It can be kept refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. If it gets any mold, discard it. They need sugar and it is cheap. I hear they need to eat some bugs for their own sake. This is a good way to hold one cup (8 ounces). You want to give the hummers good food, so change it often. Depending on the outside temperatures, it could be between 2 and 8 days. The feeder is easy to clean. I hope this information is useful to you.
The perfect gift is a friend or family. They will love it! Be on the lookout for new models. Each complete feeders holds 32 ounces. There are 8 feeding ports in the feeding base. The feeding station is bright red. The base prevents other birds and bees from drinking the nectar. There is a perch around the entire base. The base is easy to clean and fill. There are clear glass bottles. It was made in the USA.
👤I have been feeding hummers for over 20 years. Several years ago, this brand was switched to the hummzinger, which attracts too many insects. This one is back. This is the best one I have found. I can't keep these filled in Middle Tennessee because I am using bee guards. I have a lot of happy hummers in my garden, and I use two of these and two 16 oz hummzingers. In the hot weather, I use the Homestead concentrate and replace it every 2 days.
👤The hummingbird feeders were made in the USA. They failed after less than two months of use. The hanging ring on the bottle is not deep enough to hold it securely. As you can imagine, gravity eventually wins and the weight of the glass bottle is too heavy and it falls from the wall. The seller suggested that I glue the ring to the bottle after the first feeder failed. It does not work for me. The bottle is too heavy to be supported by a thin metal ring and there is no way to get a grip on it. I will be ordering Made in China after all, even though it costs me $40. Customer service from an American business was disappointing.
👤I've been using this feeder for 20 years. Someone screwed the base on too tight and bought a new one. The Hummingbirds love it. If you put 1c white sugar to 4c water, they don't care, and it will make your feeders discolored in the long term. I bought this pair so I could have a spare and add a feeders on the other side of the house. Cleaning is the only challenge. If you use a funnel, a drop of dish soap, and shake and swirl, you can get a clean rice. Turn it upside down and then plug it into your hand and it will be the dirtiest end.
👤This is a well made feeder and it looks like it will last a long time in the sunshine of FL. The bottle is made of glass and will last a while in the sun, but the base is hard plastic and may last a few years. Replacement parts are cheap and are readily available so that is a big plus. The hummers are a little slow to find the feeders but they have made pigs of themselves. It's fun to watch when this thing burps and all the hummers come back. The quality of the feeder and the availability of parts make this one the Best-1. I think that's correct. If I ever need to add feeders, they will be this one.
👤These feeders are excellent. The inlet is too small if I were to give a critical feedback. I use a funnel to fill these guys, but a bigger one would be great. Don't overtighten the red plastic part, as they tend to get very difficult to remove after a few days, something that is not an issue, and probably contributes to overall quality and not leaking. The hole cleaners tend to gunk up fast with a lot of little visitors, so make sure to purchase them.
You can mix the correct proportions with First Nature hummingbird concentrate. 40 fluid ounces of hummingbird nectar is held in the parakeet containment. Five flower-shaped feeding ports can accommodate multiple hummingbirds. ants are stopped in their tracks by a built-in ant moat. Red is a hummingbird's favorite color, so attract more of them with the red top and base. They recommend washing your hummingbird feeders by hand with warm soapy water, but you should not put your feeders in the dishwasher.
👤Are you buying bags of sugar? Are you surrounded by little animals when you go outside? Have they stared into your windows and chirped angrily when supplies were low? This is the one you want. I have tried every major brand out there and this one is worth the money. The little wire hook is the only thing that can go into the dishwasher. There are plastic parts on the top rack. Sanitation is essential if you want to feed Hummingbirds. If birds catch black mold, they die a slow death because their throats swell up and they can't eat or drink. If you don't clean your feeders, it's better not to feed them. It is possible to clean the feeders in the dishwasher so that you don't have to scrub them. The glass is fastened to the top of the feeder. This is design genius. Most feeders are attached to a metal cage, which means they can't go in the dishwasher. It also means that the glue will fail and your feeders will fall off the hook, which will cause a mess on your lawn or patio. You don't need a separate ant moat for the Feeder top because it has a space that doubles as one. The heavy duty glass feeder weighs about 9 lbs when filled with sugar water. It's important to hold it from the top and bottom, and to have a sturdy place to hang it. The wire hook that comes with it is strong. Carefully guard it. Good luck trying to contact the company about a replacement, the opening in the top of the feeder is small, and you should probably use a zip tie.
👤I like the fact that this one is built to last, as I was wasting a lot of time on a different one that looked like it was built to last. 1) The materials are thinner, but this one is still pretty. I no longer dread cleaning my feeders as they can be done so fast, I no longer risk sugar water spilling on my balcony, and I no longer risk it because it's constructed in a way that prevents that. There are four The flowers are permanent, yet the birds still find their way to them without an elaborate artificial flower. There's a protection against ants on the top of the building. 6) I can fill the bottle with slightly warm water even during the night, and the next day the bottle is not foggy. I always know it's assembled correctly because of the small amount of parts and one twisting action. The design of the feeders lets the birds get every last drop.
👤I've tried a variety of hummingbird feeders and they all seem to have their strengths and weaknesses. I prefer to stay away from the all plastic type of bird feeders, and this one has a glass holder with a solid plastic bottom, so I usually look for a style such as this one. The glass ones seem to crack and break after a couple of years of use, which has happened to me the last three from different brands I have purchased. This is the first brand I have tried and it is not known how long this particular brand will last. The thick glass top under the top moat/hanging area is where the chip came from. I don't know how the damage happened or if it was a defect that was overlooked. I filled the feeder with water and it didn't leak, so it doesn't seem to affect it. I decided to keep the chip since it is at the top. The plastic base is ok and gives the birds a place to sit, but the yellow flowers seem to be easy to fall out of. It makes them easy to clean, but I would have liked them to have a locking mechanism to keep them in place. The yellow flowers seem to attract birds. The base is easy to disassemble and clean, which is important to keep mold andbacteria out of the feeders. I like the fact that the solution is smaller because it keeps it fresh. The opening is large and easy to fill. This is the first time I have ever gotten one that has an ant moat in top, which is a bowl like feature in the top that you fill with water. It seems to help prevent ants from getting to the solution. I use a boiled sugar water solution that seems to work as well as the store-bought stuff and the hummers love it. The glass seems to be of decent quality. It will be interesting to see if it can hold up to the hot summers here. The metal hanging hook is sturdy and small. The small chip is the only thing that I dislike about the feeder, it has no leaks and seems to work well so far. If there are any issues with the feeder, I will update my review. 4 stars.
