1. Purina Tidy Cats Clumping Control

Purina Tidy Cats Clumping Control

One pack of cat pads and 2 bags of 3.5 lbs. litter pellets are included in the litter box system. Extra large litter boxes for big cats come in a larger size to give your cat a better experience and have high sides to help prevent tracking and keep messes contained. The Breeze system has an anti- tracking system. The floors are neat. Feet are neat. It is guaranteed. Solids stay on top for fast removal and urine is locked away in the super-absorbent pads below so there are no clumps to scoop. Absorb. Throw. It's time to replace.

Brand: Purina Tidy Cats

👤The price tag and all the components needed to make this system work made my eyes cringe. An old lady cat is one of the cats that I have. Would she give it a chance? Set up is the first step. This thing is pretty cool. Bigger than it looks. They are not lying about the model being made for multiple cats. The cats can tango in it. The pellets are new to me. This type of litter has never been seen before. There is a drawer for the pee pad. The liquid falls through the grate into the absorbent pad if the solid stays in the pellets. Step 2 ends with "What the heck is this, human?" I put the Breeze XL next to the regular litter box. The old lady cat wanted nothing to do with it, while the younger cat was playing with it. It took a few days for pee to show up on the pad. Still no solid. I stopped refilling the old litter to encourage them to use the Breeze and moved some "solid" over from the old cat box. The girls began to use the old box less and accept the new box more over the next two weeks. I stopped cleaning the old box because it worked. I don't know what the pellets are made from, but they dry up the "solids" and eliminate the smell. I am serious. The amount of cat box smell that I notice has been reduced by 80% between the pee pad and the pellets. The odor neutralization is the most amazing thing about it. I have been digging semisolid sand for years, and I am sure most of you have as well. There is a better way to go. I gave it a try and do not regret it one bit. You won't as well!

👤This litter box has made me not want to use normal cat litter again. I only have to replace the little pellets once a week with my two cats because they don't track around my entire apartment the way regular litter does. Their old boxes were so stinky that I haven't noticed any odor. That is not the reason I am writing this review. If it weren't for this litter box, I wouldn't have discovered that my cat had a serious urinary tract infection. The litterbox uses potty pads that absorb urine, and you have to replace them every couple days. I noticed blood in one of my cats urine when I replaced the pad. She was diagnosed with a bad urinary tract infection after I took her in. If I hadn't gotten this box, I might not have realized my cat had blood in her urine. The product is really solid.

👤I had a good idea of what I was going to do prior to buying, so I read several reviews. I never used the supplied plastic pellets. I bought a 40 lbs bag of animal pellets for $5 at my local Tractor Supply store. When the cats pee on the pellets, they break down into sawdust. I scoop out the sifted stuff from the bottom tray and keep it in an empty container for a week. It's easy, clean and there's no bad cat pee smell. The top section is not fit into the bottom. I duct taped the top to the bottom. I can grab the top and shake it to get the sawdust to go to the lower tray. When it's taped together, this is a more stable litter box. I have a metal kitty litter scoop on the way because I broke my plastic one trying to get the sawdust down. I'm thinking about removing the tray completely and putting the whole thing in a pan or something with 1 inch sides. It pays for itself in no time at all. We've got 2 cats and have been using this for 3 weeks and still on the original bag of $5 pellets. It does tend to smell like urine when cleaning the tray daily, but the system still works great. The system seems perfect after I started using Nature's Miracle deodorizer. It doesn't take much and it smells good. After cleaning, just sprinkle a little. This is a great set-up!

2. LitterMaid Multi Cat Self Cleaning Litter Box

Brand: Littermaid

👤I chose this box over the PetSafe automatic litter box due to the fact that PetSafe requires use of the Crystal litter, and I didn't like the "disposable" box idea. That's more waste than I'm comfortable with. The LitterMaid was the brand that I chose because of the flexibility in litter options and reduced waste. I was armed with tricks to avoid pitfalls with this particular box after reading a lot of reviews. It's a common complaint, having to buy accessories like new waste receptacles. The lady said to line the waste receptacle with a plastic bag and dispose of it when it was full. This works well. One lady advised using a piece of good adhering tape to the gap between the box and the waste receptacle, as a solution to the common complaint. There is a gap and litter will fall through it. This works well. LitterMaid makes an accessory that supposedly takes care of this.

👤Over the years, I have had a number of Littermaids. I have been satisfied with the fact that they have typically lasted a year or two. For the current one, I got inspired by some pins on pins on the internet to hack my Littermaid. The waste bin was hovering over the large cut-out opening in the Rubbermaid drawer. I cut out the bottom panel of the littermaid waste bin and put a large trash bag in it. I use masking tape or painters tape to create seals on the edges of the bin. The trash bag is inside the drawer. I only have to empty the bin once a week, because I have two large cats. In my book, this is the only way to go. Sometimes litter gets stuck to the bottom of the Littermaid. I have to get it every couple of days. I have a dry food and water fountain. They last about two weeks before having to refill them. When I travel and have a friend check on my cats, there is almost nothing for them to do but play with the cats.

👤Not quite 6 weeks. It no longer works. I used to get Littermaids that worked for at least two years until the gears wore out. The first part of March, 2017, was the time when the LM-86579 stopped working. I bought the LM980 on March 6th, but it no longer works today. The green light will blink as they sit there. Plug them back in, and the green light will glow for a while, but then it will start blinking. There was no movement of the rake. There was no sign of the rake getting stuck in either case. I am not happy. I gave both of them the same amount of money. I bought the original one 17 years ago when my two cats were kittens and it is still working. I'm upset. I bought this from Amazon.com, but it is 13 days past the return date, so I think I am stuck with it. I tried the customer care line and it was busy, so I would suggest not calling that number. After the 4th or 5th add, I was unable to talk to a human or get out of the add loop. If I talked to someone about my problems, I would probably register both non functioning Littermaids. I found a warranty phone number at the bottom of the page when I registered them atlittermaid.com/littermaid-customer-service/warranty. You can use the phone number there. You need to register your product before I write the phone number. I called the number and spoke to a human who was very helpful. Thank you very much,Christina! I was told to reset the Littermaid first. If you attached the ramp, you have to kneel next to the dumping station. The farthest away from you should be the battery compartment. Take your finger and follow the inside of the track that the wheel for the rake travels in, starting at the battery compartment. You will find a button inside the track before you get to the dumping station. Push the button 10 times. I unplugged the unit and tried to reset it, but it didn't work. After you turn the unit off, the rake didn't move like it should. She decided that it was a dead unit. The model number is on the 2nd sticker in the battery compartment. They will replace the unit that is dead with a new one if you give them your name and address. I received two brand new replacement units today, April 26, after my information was taken down on April 21, 2017. You don't have to send a unit that isn't working. I have no bad words for a company that supports their products. I have used littermaids for seventeen years. If you fill the litter to the correct spot, it will work for me. My two senior cats have been well served by the product.

3. Petphabet Jumbo Hooded Litter Extra

Petphabet Jumbo Hooded Litter Extra

Petphabet Cat Litter Box is ideal for multiple cat households. The average cat could all sit in the same litter box and have the same amount of poop. There is a clear top cover. The back and lid are high. Your cats won't feel like they're in danger if they have a litter box. There is no Exploding Cat. It's safe for cats to move around in cat litter boxes and for you to scoop or clean litter if you have a color strip that fits over the opening. Roomy and round. The tall cat litter box has a dimensions of 24.8"L x 20.W x 16.7"H. It is easy to clean. The litter box is made of plastic and easy to clean.

Brand: Petphabet

👤I decided not to use it as a litter box because my cat liked it so much, I let her use it as a little house. I'll be buying a new litter box.

👤I had high hopes for this litter box, but it hasn't delivered. When you have a high-spraying cat, the tray doesn't work, we have to clean up pee from the back, bottom, and floor. The top cracked after a few months of use. The kittier like the see-through lid. The litter box we are using is more than 20 years old and is holding up well. We need a second box for multiple cats. Over the past year, we have tried several different processes, and none of them have kept the pee in. If we don't keep an eye on the leaks from this one, our cats will smell like they do. It is difficult to make a litter box that does not leak. They did it a long time ago.

👤I'm very pleased with the box. I bought it for three reasons. I redecorated my laundry room and it matches the teal color of my condo. I like the fact that the hood is clear and large. I wanted a box with no inside corners for litter to get stuck in and this was the reason I bought it. I have always removed door flaps from previous litter pans. I don't mind that it doesn't have one. The box is strong enough to hold my two animals. I have had no issues with their bathroom habits. The box had two replacement latches. It took me a while to get used to them. I don't know why they clip shut. They are working fine now that they are sitting on the frame. It looks like a teal cat box. I am very happy. I bought a boot tray from target and it fits perfectly under the thing. The teal litter pan is still on the job and doing great.

👤The seal between the top and bottom of the box allows the cat to leak out when it backs up. So angry about it.

👤I ordered a second one after receiving this today. I got it to replace one of the omega paw boxes that is falling apart and a pain to clean, now I'll replace the other omega box as well. The cats took care of the large box without a problem. Since it has a large opening, they can kick more litter out. I have 3 big cats and so far it seems like a good box for them. I got rid of my other omega box after ordering a second box. I have not had a problem with the cats kicking out more litter because they love the boxes and took right to them. The large size and clear top make it easy to scoop out what you want. The box was great, never going back to the other types. Who says litter boxes can't be nice colors? I have blue and purple and they look good.

4. Boxiecat Premium Clumping Litter 16 Pounds

Boxiecat Premium Clumping Litter 16 Pounds

"This is truly the best litter" is the recommendation from Dr. Lisa Franck D. V. M. 2X longer lasting. Use less and save more. 99. 9% free of tobacco. Dust control formula is ideal for allergies. An exception to ODOR CONTROL: A ammonia odor is eliminated. The flat top clasp is an invention. There are clumps on the top of the box. Stays ultra- clean. Even after weeks of scoop, odor-free like a new bag. Tracking greens is low. It's all natural, Unscented, great for cats and box types.

Brand: Boxiecat

👤I used this litter for almost a month so that I could give an honest opinion to other cat lovers. Don't buy this battery. I don't know how this litter won any awards, but it's the worst litter I have ever used. The litter doesn't absorb smell. Twice a day, I have taken. If our cats use the litter box, you will always smell it, even if you are not in the house. The tracking is terrible. The litter is the worst we have had before. I vacuum a lot because of that. It gets everywhere and sticks to the cats feet at times, it's not just in front of the litter box. The litter has made our lives intolerable.

👤This is the best cat litter I have ever tried. I have not scooped in a while, so no one can smell the box. I forget they exist and don't scoop frequently. The litter tracks around the house like any other litter. This litter has lasted me longer than the previous one. It clumps on top and doesn't sink. It is amazing. My house lasts about 2 months with one large bag. Two raw fed cats that drink a lot of water pee more often than most cats. I also have a few litter boxes. The main one lasts about 2 months while the others can go on. I am still amazed. My husband has many allergies. He is a mess. The litter isn't dust free but it hasn't irritated him like a tidy cat did. If you are looking for an allergy friendly litter, this is it. If you are looking for a non clumping try it. clumping is important to me and we have tried it all. You have to try this litter.

👤I agree... I love this litter. I think it is the best based on size and dust factor, but cat litter should not be more than $25 per bag. That is ridiculous. People, it's clay. If you are trying to justify the cost of doing business, then you are wrong. I find the price of cat litter very low. The whole thing of lasting longer is worth the price. If you have two cats peeing and pooping in a litter box multiple times a day, please. It's not like saying you don't need to change your underwear every day because you didn't get sweaty. The quality of the litter has nothing to do with how often you should scoop it or change it. The scent of $12 Cat Tidy is better and better. For $16, you can get Dr. Elsey's Respiratory Relief.

👤I held my nose six inches from the litter box before writing this review, and I can say with confidence that there is no smell after one month of use, and 36 hours since the last scoop. Not anymore. It's made life in my small D.C. apartment much nicer, but it's a lot more expensive. I have a very long-haired Persian, and I have no smell. There is a small amount of litter outside the box at the end of the day, and I almost never find any litter around the apartment. One bag was enough to fill a litter box for me.

5. Van Ness CP5 Sifting Litter

Van Ness CP5 Sifting Litter

The finish is stain resistant. The framed pan has added height and can hold cat pan liners securely in place.

Brand: Van Ness

👤Most of the other reviewers have said that you need to sandwich the 'filter' layer between the two solid pans if you're going to get this item. It's a nightmare to clean if you use the manufacturer's instructions and you get clumps of litter stuck in the filters. I had to leave town for a last minute doctor's appointment and I had to take a picture of what 2 cats could do. It's easy to clean up when you stack them as such: Top Solid Pan + Litter Filter Pan Bottom Solid Pan. Lift the top pan with the litter and droppings, dump the mess into the stacked Filter+Solid bottom pans, then shake the filter pan to catch all the debris. The litter falls into the pan. The bottom one becomes the top when you throw out the nuggets.

👤It works great for pine pellet litter. The pine pellets and litter box have made it easy to clean. Scoop the poop out, stir the pellets, and shake the sifting part to get rid of the sawdust. Done! It was easy! It's really recommend for pine pellets.

👤These are the best things in the world. I ordered 4 to try because I have 12 cats. I'm hooked. It takes 5 minutes to do a 15 min job. I'm definitely going to purchase more in the future.

👤The others are correct in that you want to save the sifting layer for when you need to clean, which means keep it in the middle until you are ready to use it. There is no room between the sieve bottom and the next layer for the urine-soaked sawdust to fall through and live, so keeping it on top is pointless. I kept my old litter pan as the catchall for the sawdust because it's still not easy to sieve with the existing pans. I only use the scoop to grab the poo each day, and only have to sift the pine litter every two or three days. I can pour half of the pine into a clean tray and the other half into a clean tray at the same time, but I can't sift all of the pine at once. Win-win. Once you get used to it, pine litter rocks! I haven't smelled anything since I switched.

👤The reviews are great. Don't just look at the stars. Most of the 5 star reviews have changed how they use the box. They put the sieve in the middle of the two blue solid trays. Then dump the litter into the sieve. A BREEZE! I am glad I waited because I was obsessed with the Luuup litter box. I have not seen anyone happy with it. If you use it the way I described, it's really easy to clean up. I hated cleaning the litter box, leaving it until it was gross. It's easy now. I'm getting a second one and ordering some for my friends with cats. It's a good thing.

👤I feel like my old litter box is smaller. It is difficult for an adult cat to move around. I wonder if the hood makes them feel bad. I wish it was bigger.

6. PetSafe ScoopFree Lavender Clumping Crystals

PetSafe ScoopFree Lavender Clumping Crystals

ODOR CONTROL: UNBEATABLE. It's better to absorb urine and dry solid waste than it is to clumping clay cat litters. There is a lesson to be learned. 99% of the time, low-tracking crystals are dust-free. There is protection for leAKs. The plastic tray lining has a powerful extra barrier. Simply remove the tray and throw it away, it's easy. PetSafe brand's Customer Care experts are based in the U.S. and will be happy to help. Since 1991, the PetSafe brand has been an industry leading U.S. manufacturer of pet behavior, containment and lifestyle products.

Brand: Petsafe

👤I had a major illness and was treated with different types of cancer, so I was no longer able to lift and scoop the litter box. My litter box struggle would be less if my traditional scooping litter was delivered right to my door. I was wrong. I could barely get down on my knees to scoop the box, but I couldn't carry out the heavy bag of clumps or the dirty litter from the box to the dumpster. I can't wash the box every 7 or 9 days as I always have. I was worried about the health of my pets and myself. I was worried about the cats' urine, odor, and feces, as well as the fact that they were unable to properly dispose of their waste or keep their litter fresh, because I was unable to find alternative places to dispose of it. The fresh scoop box has changed my life. The litter box scoops itself. After a few days, I remove the light housing from the disposable litter tray and put the litter tray box top in the used litter tray. I take cheap packing tape or rubber bands and secure each side of the box with them. It is amazing to me that a used litter of 2 cats is contained in a compact, clean, approx size of 25x15 and thick in a white box. I can carry the box under my arm and just drop it in the dumpster. I used to have layer 3 new stretch scented trash bags inside of each other to make a reinforced bag that was certain not to tear with the weight of the used litter, get on my knees next to the box and try to scoop the very thick, sludgy, wet, and The trash pick up is three times a week, because the urine odor attracts rats, I would have to wait with a heavy stinking garbage bag with 2 days worth of dirty litter until just before the garbage pick occurred to throw out the dirty litter. When I heard a dump truck coming down the street trying to get a heavy garbage bag outside and in the dumpster before it arrived, I panicked and ran. I can't lift the bag up into the dumpster if I use a small cart. The issue was getting so big that I was worried. Thanks to the technology of scoop free litter box and efficiency that Amazon offers, I am no longer worried about taking care of my pets, and I am happy to say that. It is really great. I don't want to point out any negatives with this lifesaver, but the price is the only downside. I am on a fixed income because of my health and it costs me a lot. I worry that the price will continue to increase at a rapid rate. I wish that the company that sells the 6 pack of refill program or club would offer a lower price for it, so that consumers could save money. The scoop free litter box system has an added bonus that cats love, that is, when they hear the "arm" mechanism engage, they run over to the box and wait until the show starts. bengal has figured out how the whole thing works. She will round up her less smart partner in crime, step halfway inside of the box and attempt to set off the cleaning mechanism. After a few seconds of wild movement, she quickly backs up and out of the box, then crouches down with her friend on the mat waiting for the show to start. It's hilarious! This litter box is very good. The box addresses concerns for anyone who struggles daily due to health, mobility, age, living arrangements, etc, or simply dislikes the whole process of lugging home crazy heavy boxes of dusty litter, scooping the box religiously, disposing of the dirty litter, the odor produced from the litter box.

7. IRIS Entry Litter Scoop Seafoam

IRIS Entry Litter Scoop Seafoam

It is easy to clean. The litter box has a high polish finish. The cat litter pan is made with materials that are free of the harmful effects of the chemical brominatedominated gasses. The outside dimensions are 20.50"L x 14.75"W x 14.38"H. The inside dimensions are 19.12"L x 13.75"W x 14.25"H.

Brand: Iris Usa, Inc.

👤First of all, who came up with this litter box... Thank you. I have cats. The first one is very fond of kicking the litter out of the box. When she poops or pees, the second one runs from her feces. She is a dainty cat. When she leaves the litter box, it throws litter everywhere. The litter box has been a blessing. I bought a large grey litter box. My large cat will fit into the litter box and my small cat is forced to slow down and jump up and out. There is some litter that gets out. The majority of the litter is held in the lid. I sweep the dust pan and broom back through the holes in the lid of the litter box by keeping a little dust pan and hand held broom. I love the litter box.

👤I was never sure if a cat would jump into a hole to do its job. I've had cats my whole life. They don't give it a second thought. My kitten figured it out. It works well. Cats step on sticky litter sometimes. It's almost impossible for cats like me who are kickers to kick litter out of the hole. I vacuum that area monthly instead of daily. That's how clean this box is.

👤The litter box is my new best friend. I'm happy I bought this style. It was difficult to decide what would be best for my cat. When I received the box, I thought it was big, but soon realized it was a bigger box. It's easy to put together, just snap on the lid and you're done. Some of the reviews said cats wouldn't use it. I didn't have a problem with my cat. I have a dilemma with her being a pee standing up kinda girl. She would pee on the walls, rugs and my floor when she used her old open style litter box. I put the new litter box next to her area so she could look at it. I put her inside without litter so she could see what it was like. I put her back inside after I filled it with litter and picked her up again. She used her scratch litter immediately after dancing. I gave her a lot of praise and a few treats. I put it next to her old box to be safe. I replaced her cheap box with her big new litter box the next day. She got in or out of the top entry. The design of the top lid allows the litter to fall back inside, making it easy to clean. The coated inside makes it easy to clean. The Catit Top Entry Litter Box is a great option if you have a cat.

👤We've tried every type of litter box. We were looking for an answer and we found it in this box. Couldn't keep the dog out of the box. He walked up to it, sniffing the side of it, and then walked away. There is no desire to eat treats out of the box. There is no litter on the floor. The litter falls into the box after the cat wipes her paws. It's easy to clean. My cat loves it. She is about 15 pounds. She took to it immediately. This litter box is superior to any other litter box on the market today. It was very low to no smell.

8. Petmate Entry Litter Brushed Nickel

Brand: Petmate

👤The litter box is easy to clean and keeps the litter contained. My cat was able to adjust quickly. It makes it more difficult for the dog to raid the litter box, but as you can see from the picture below, it doesn't stop him.

👤I had tried everything, from heavy litter to high walled litter boxes. My cats would fling litter in ways that made me wonder about physics. The Petmate Top Entry Litter Pan was simple and had my cats in awe. The 3 of them, driven by healthy bowel movements and a strong urge to squeeze into every box ever, held a battle for who could soil this magnificent creation first. Indiana tried to throw litter and feces around the room after he won. He conceded defeat and climbed out of the box after being Exhausted and defeated. There were a few litter sprinkles that made their way to the top of the Petmste, but none made it to the floor. My girlfriend is buying 2 more of these. Highly recommended.

👤I was surprised to see that the litter boxes I bought were the same. The material, quality and pattern of the holes on top. The design for on the bottom was supposed to come from reading the reviews. It's completely flat. You can get ten dollars cheaper than arm and Hammer with a brand name and color scheme.

👤My dogs would dig into my cat's litter box. My cat is 12 lbs and doesn't like small enclosed spaces. I decided to remove the lid after he didn't want to use it for a week. I gave him time to use it without the lid and then replaced it a week later, because he could jump in easily. I have noticed a lower amount of litter outside the box since he uses it regularly. This is a new design. The handle bars at the bottom of the box make it difficult to clean, but they don't appear on the box I've received so cleaning is easy. Try this box.

👤It works well for my normal sized cats. It's so much for minimizing the mess.

👤Product designers should be required to use the product for a month. The criticisms: 1. The lid is loose and will scare your cat. Each time I have to tape it down. 2. It is not possible to clean with a scooper when the corners are configured that way. 3. It is difficult to scoop over the pan because of the bumps in the bottom. 4. If you use the hinges to turn the lid, it will fall on the floor. You need to remove the lid and then fit it onto the hinges.

👤This litter box is not good. The area at the bottom of the box that was designed to have a handle was not put there because it made sense, but rather to force customers to buy plastic bags. I'm not going to buy your square plastic bags unless you buy their plastic liners, because this handle is not supposed to be there other than to get in the way and make cleaning your box more difficult. I'm buying a different box.

9. Omega Paw Cleaning Litter Midnight

Omega Paw Cleaning Litter Midnight

The litter box is self cleaning. The features include Integrated Litter Step, Chrome Plated Locking Clips and Accents, and signature Midnight Black color. Brand: Omega Paw

👤Why didn't I buy this? If you are still digging around in your cat's toilet, then you should get this. I had two reservations. litter would get stuck in that corner It will fall off if it is upside down, so spray some Silicone spray in it. There are two It is difficult to assemble. That is a hard no. If you can't snap three pieces of plastic together, ffs don't admit it publicly and don't handle anything sharp. Awesome sauce. The Rolls-Royce catbox is Viva The Rolls-Royce! It's something. U P D A T E! It was added. 1. Don't overfill 2. Zip ties were added to both sides of the sifting wall because I want to roll quickly. The zip tie was added to the top of the tray. I learned a few things from my dad. Happy rolling. No more digging.

👤This product deserves a review. There is a long medical sheet for bone, joint and pain disorders. I've always had to have cat boxes because it's hard for my body to keep up with them. I've thrown away the old boxes since I got this box. I have to clean this box a few times a day because I have 3 cats. I have never been as free of litter box odors as I have been because of the use of a cat genie and Dr. Elsewhereys ultra litter, but with a little activated carbon as one person suggested, and the use of a cat genie and Dr. Elsewhereys ultra litter, There is a I almost forgot the cleaning part. It takes 15 to 20 seconds, and doesn't hurt my back or shoulders at all. This is worth double the price if you suffer from pain disorders and love your cats. If you want a cat genie, make sure to use litter and not go to the garbage can.

👤The litter box we bought was supposed to be great for our cat because it had a grating and a separate container for the poop. We were wrong. We put it together the way we were supposed to. When you turn the litter box, the grating pops up so all the litter goes under it. When the grating stayed in place, the poops wouldn't always go inside the tray. A lot of them ended up behind the tray and then fell into the litter when you turned the box upright. Sometimes the litter doesn't stay inside the box. Our cat was able to trail the litter and some of the poop back to the box because of the huge hole in the litter box. Most of the litter and poop stays inside. I'm not happy with the litter box. I might as well use the regular kind.

👤The screen doesn't stay attached at the bottom of the box, as was discussed in a lot of earlier models. The model is said to have an improved design. It lasted a week before the screen came down. There's no secure attachment, the screen is just resting between a couple of plastic nubs. I tied the screen to the bottom by drilling small holes in the bottom. See the photo. The holes are small enough that there will be very little litter in the bottom. Do this before you use the box, because it will be dirty after. The concept works well. One of our cats uses it, but the other doesn't. They are old and used to their ways. The cats don't have a big area to use the large model. The screened area is not accessible to the cats, and a third of the inside is taken up by it. It takes a lot of space to roll the thing up past the vertical. The plastic is shiny and has a "chrome" coating. There was no metal. Would I buy it again? Probably. It should be better engineered.

10. Purina Tidy Cats BREEZE Hooded

Purina Tidy Cats BREEZE Hooded

One bag of 3.5 lbs. litter pellets is included in the litter box system, giving your cat one month of refills. The disposable cat litter pads are designed to last for 7 days for one cat. Breeze system's anti- tracking cat litter pellets are dust free and cut down on tracking around the box. The floors are neat. Feet are neat. It is guaranteed. Solids stay on top for fast removal and urine is locked away in the super-absorbent pads below so there are no clumps to scoop. Absorb. Throw. It's time to replace.

Brand: Purina Tidy Cats

👤A bit of background. A new kitten in our multi cat home wrecked havoc and wreaked havoc on our home, so we started using the breeze system. She and the youngest member of the tribe were trying to establish dominance. The breeze system was easy to convert to back then. I kept a regular box next to the breeze and they all showed their preference for the breeze. We have five boxes around the house for four cats and we have 100% litter box compliance, which is great because we had to re home the kitten who is now happily living in a two cat house. I am a sucker for new versions of great products, and I am not a fan of the new hooded box that was announced by Purina. I wanted to use the hooded box in a more populated area so the litter could be more hidden. The hood is great. Some people say it is too small for their cats. Two small cats and two large cats are in our house. The cats' favorite box was put into use in the first week and needed to be changed quickly. I haven't seen any splash out of the box. It is amazing for those of you who are new to the breeze system. The pee stays on the pad. If your cat buries the poop, it sits on top of the pellets. The poop is easy to scoop after landing on the pellets. The only problem I've ever had is a splash of scurvy that requires the box to be cleaned with water. That would be true of any litter box that was hit with stool. Unless you purchase the scented pads which we all found pretty toxic, the pads for these boxes have been ridiculously expensive. I noticed that purina recently dropped their price, so I thought they were making knock off pads. I'll be watching the pricing to see if it lasts. I have tried a number of litter systems over the year, including expensive electric machines and toilet training kits for cats. The toilet training worked for one of the cats, but the other refused to try it, so we had to scrap it. The breeze system is the best cat waste system. It is easy to clean and the cats love it. The added hood makes the litter situation much more discreet. I've found this to be less expensive in the long run. It was a win win.

👤Three stars for non-breezy litter issues. The same issues apply to the non-hooded version. It's five stars if you find me a great pellet solution. Four is the average. For those of us who want more information, I made a mistake. I've written this review a number of times, but never submitted it. It's hard to review because most parts are great and the critical part needs negotiation. The system is a great idea between the 2 models. I was happy when the hooded litter boxes were introduced. It's made of plastic. It's a breeze to put it together. I can remove the hood and put it back on without having to work hard to break it. The hinged hood that allows the opening to swing up without having to take the top off makes cleaning litter boxes with solid hoods much easier. The box has a lower profile, but my big, rough-and-tumble cat has no problem fitting inside. Put adiaper in the lower tray to catch the urine that flows over thelitter. Amazon brand pads are cheaper than other brands. You will go through at least two pads a week. The tray is easy to slide. Attach the hood to the slatted-litter-holder on top. The scoop is on the side of the set. This is a dream come true because I can't clean out the heavier litter boxes anymore. I like to clean the hood daily because it helps keep the odors down. The pellet litter is the biggest problem. It's made from a stone-like material. The pieces are about 1/3 of an inch. Some people worry that the pieces can cause a problem for cats. As long as you change the absorbent pad frequently, you can greatly reduce odor. You can simply scoop it out and dispose of it if it sits on the top. You don't need a deep layer of pellets, and you only need to replace them once a month. They are attractive in the system. They're a big problem. The only way to deal with the urine getting coated with the pellets is to rinse them off. You have a litter tray full of wet pellets. You change the pellets more often if you don't rinse them. It doesn't just slip and slide off the pellet. Even if your cat produces stools that are soft, you are going to throw away all the pellets that stick to it. If your cat is a coverer, you lose more pellet. My bag doesn't last long. Because you don't have many pellets in the tray, you don't have to push against it to make sure all the stool makes it onto the scoop. If you use the side of the tray, you can pick up the poop again, but you'll want to clean the sides to remove the smudges. The litter part of the system is not good when your cat develops a case of scurvy or gets wormed. The pellets don't work in these situations. There will be slush on the urine pad. slush will stick to the slats The slush is on top of the pellets. You can't leave them in the tray. If you want to get rid of worms, forget about the smell and the smeared slats and sides, you might want to keep your cat out of harms way. I take the litter tray to the tub, use the shower head to rinse everything, return the tray, and then set a fan nearby in the hopes they'll dry faster. Nope. This part isn't easy. There were no dust problems. The pellets I got had no scent at all. One cat tosses the pellet out. I accidentally stepped on something. My two neurotic coverers can't avoid tracking some of the disease. I've been using pine pellet animal bedding. It works better than the stone pellet. The wet ones break down the sawdust and put it in your urine tray. It's not a big deal when the pine pellets stick to the stool. I can get a 40lb bag for less than $5. I don't mind changing the litter tray once a week for that price, even though the piney smell doesn't last as long for me as it seems. One of my cats doesn't like the pine pellets. I'm trying to find a solution for the picky cat. I'm going to try Yesterday's News, which is less expensive than the stones and still "green." I would give this system five stars if I could find a good pellet solution. How many fingers have I crossed?

11. PetSafe ScoopFree Self Cleaning Automatic Disposable

PetSafe ScoopFree Self Cleaning Automatic Disposable

No cleaning or refilling your cat's litter box will remove waste. Crystal litter can remove smell by absorbing urine and dehydrating solid waste. A hooded cover helps keep kitty litter inside the box, and low- tracking crystals are 99% dust free. Plastic lining is used to protect against leaking and keep your floors clean. Remove the tray and throw it away. The health counter and motion sensors can be used to monitor your cat's health. Their pet product experts can help with customer care.

Brand: Petsafe

👤Buy this, it is the short and sweet. Arm & Hammer Platinum Slide litter, a litter tray, and a cat litter deodorizer are available if you throw out the crystals. I can stand next to a full litter box and not smell it.

👤This product is great, but it doesn't work like a miracle solution for all cats, at least not for me. I guarantee that it won't last you a month without upkeep. After some adjustments, it's still well worth it. I bought this just before my first cat was adopted, a fully grown and litter trained cat. I work 9 hours a day and live in a one bedroom apartment with a roommate, where the smell would be terrible if left untamed. I thought it would be worth the investment to make owning my first cat easier. There is a side note. A plastic tray was invested in by me. They are worth every cent after you realize how much you are saving with disposables. If you plan on going with actual litter, it's important. It was almost remarkable that my cat adjusted easily. She figured it out in 2 hours of being placed in a brand new home. I was able to go through the experiment I am about to share because she is tolerant of change. If you are one of the people who can't mess around with different litters, I did it for you and you can see what works best for you. I used the crystals that came with the product in the first 2 weeks of using it. I knew it would cost a lot to replace the trays, but the product said for one cat it should need monthly changes. That wasn't true at all. It began to smell by 1 week and by the next week it was turning to sludge and the smell was bad. My cat wasn't going to work well with the crystals. She pees in one spot and won't change it. It turned to sludge and smelled like death in the apartment, even with frequent stirring of the litter. I almost vomited when I tried to dump the litter out. The sludge was removed from the tray. My roommate was not happy. He didn't like the smell of the crystal litter before it was urinated on. It had to be made in a Lego factory because it was hard to step on. I was done with the crystals after just one round. My roommate didn't like them, my cat didn't like them, and my landlord never came in for a sniff because my roommate didn't like them. Replacing the throw-away trays weekly would be financial suicide. I thought about getting a regular litter box, because it would be better than this. I researched if I could use real litter, but the majority of people said no. My cat is one of the few that doesn't mind if I change things up, so I decided to go nuts with different litters and test them for a week. I decided to get some real litter after buying a Litter Works permanent tray. I haven't noticed a reason why it would be worth the extra 20 bucks, but there is also a cheaper one. Non clumping litter of any kind was a no. She pees up a storm and it's over saturated in a matter of days and I have to switch out the litter. It was wasteful! I moved up to the center of the clump. I bought a cheap version of Fresh Step at Walmart because I knew nothing about litter. I thought the cheapest would work, but I didn't know if it would explode my machine, so I started cheap. The Fresh Step was the first time I thought it might work for me. It was looking good after 3 days. On the 4th day, the clumps were getting stuck behind the rakes and it was starting to look dreary. It took some time to clean off the rakes, but it was still better than the crystals since it wasn't dragging around my house. It was getting rid of the urine. It smelled like febreeze, which was a big upgrade, because it was being filled with pee clumps and poo clumps. The roommate was still upset with the smell. The Papa bear is about solutions. I moved the price list up to Arm and Hammar because I was not convinced that this was as good as it gets. He swears by two objects. I bought a version that said "hard clumps" on it. The clumps sounded great. Maybe they wouldn't touch the rakes. I filled the tray with that and Kitty liked it. She didn't allow me to put the lid on before dumping it. I was lucky. I let that run for a week. It didn't smell at all until I lifted up the lid of the poo trap, and it was not pleasant. If you are on a budget, this is the solution. It's inexpensive and works well with little upkeep. It takes 5 minutes to clear out the trap when you're around 30-40 rounds. I would wrap a scarf around my nose and it wouldn't be bad because it wouldn't smell again after a few minutes. I had to clean a rake after 4 days to keep it looking good. I think you should get a Litter Genie trashcan. I've put 4 rounds of trap cleanings in my house and it's still not full for the first time. If you are like me and my cat, and you hate crystals, this is a good place to stand. It's not the monthly hands-free promise, but it's still very convenient to stop it from smelling while away from work. I suggest Arm and Hammer Slide litter for those who really want the good stuff. It is expensive, but it is worth it. I got a 19lb box for 12 dollars at Target, and it is usually on sale for 3 weeks or so. It's a financial jump since the boat load is less than 13 bucks a week for the disposable crystals from hell. Some places offer the bigger box for less than 2 of the small boxes, but they are hard to find, andPetco.com is one of the few that does. It is worth it if you have the money. I put this stuff in my cat's mouth and she loved it, but I can't smell it unless I put my head in the box. It requires almost no upkeep for a week at a time. I need to clear out the poo trap after about 40 scoops because it fills quickly with big rock hard urine clumps. That is a million times better than dealing with urine sludge. I scoop all of it into my litter genie. No sound. I don't like the smell of the litter, but once it's mixed with urine, it gets a little stinky, but I can't smell it unless I get close. I did not need to turn away or gag while cleaning it. I realized that my roommate hadn't complained about the litter box smell since I put this litter in it when I mentioned that he smelled it when clearing the trap. It doesn't get stuck in the rakes much. I will move the rake forward once a few days to clean out any small bits that got behind it, but that's most for aesthetic reasons and would be fine for a week. After I dump the poo trap, I throw in more litter to make it go away. If I think about it, I'll stir the litter and even it out when I walk past. She needs to pee in one area and that spot gets bare quicker. She gets a pancake of litter on her pee spot after about 2 days. It doesn't stop the rakes, but it sticks to the tray and goes into the trap. I toss the litter in the trash because it comes loose with a good scraper from the scooper, and it's good to go. There is a minor problem. This product is good, but you need to make it work for your cat and life style in order to be great. It's not going to be upkeep-free for a month at a time, even with one cat, if she's a big pee-er like my baby is. If you can get the good stuff, clumping litter will work. If you have a willingness to clear it once a week, you will be able to get a much easier time than daily cleaning. I think it is a 5 star product with Arm and Hammer Slide, but it took me and my cat 2 months to get there, so I removed one star. They seem to go out of their way to convince you that nothing but crystals will work, and that's not true at all. I would have returned the product after 2 weeks if it weren't for the Arm and Hammer Litter and the Litter Works tray. Hopefully this will help a cat parent.
