The most important thing on earth. All the other things listed below don’t even come close. Well, except maybe the bike.
2. Tottenham Hotspur
My first real memory of supporting Spurs as a kid was the 1987 FA Cup Final against the mighty Coventry City. A final we lost 3-2, with Gary Mabbutt scoring an own goal in extra time. That should have been a warning of what was to come, but i’ve stuck with them, through the bad times and bad times. I rarely miss a game, and my kids are learning all sorts of interesting new words when Spurs are on the TV. COYS.
3. Cervelo S2
I bought a Cervelo S2 road bike and it arrived the same day that my second daughter was born. I remember suggesting that I should leave the hospital to go and get ‘things’ just so that I could go home and look at it.
None of this fancy hipster coffee nonsense – Tea is where it’s at. Not herbal, not flavoured, just good old builders tea.
5. Lough Corrib – Connemara
There is a little house called Creeve Point on Baurisheen Bay right on the shore of Lough Corrib in Connemara. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth. I’ve stayed here more times than I can remember and have countless great memories of my time spent there.
