1. Pictures of things
When my hard drive had to be replaced the tech guy said it was easy to restore my data “cause all I had was a-bunch-a-pictures”
2. Old things
Often much nicer than new things. Worst new things are electronics. Best old things are books.
3. Natural things
Mountains—especially off in the distance and not blocking the sun.
Meadows—but not during rainy season when there’s a leak in your boot.
Trips aggregate so many good things: geography and landscape, interesting people who do things differently from the way you do, food and drink, sleeping somewhere new. But not too often. Taking a trip is way more exciting when the opportunity for it is measured in small doses.
Particularly dogs, shorebirds, donkeys, horses, and yes, ok, cats.
