Nike Track + Field by Build
London based design studio – founded by Michael C. Place – were recently commissioned by the Nike brand team to create a new look and style for their track and field department. The result is a serious of imagery were striking graphic marks are set against a backdrop of art directed photography, featuring American athletes in full action mode.
The bright red and white posters, and the brand typography, are inspired by the shape of a running track and hint at the work of Herb Lubalin, and his design work for the Mexico World Cup. Lovely stuff.
‘This comprehensive graphic system includes — Typography, typographic messaging, graphic marks, and patterns, including bespoke numerals.
