Unit Editions publications get stronger and stronger with each new title, and this new Herb Lubalin book looks to keep the bar set high. Designed in striking black/orange colour palette, this new book – their third on Lubalin – explores his brilliance in the craft of typography and typographic design. Edited by Adrian Shuaghnessy and Tony Brook, and designed by Spin (Tony’s London based design studio) the book is set for release June 2016.
“Herb Lubalin claimed not to be a great typographer. ‘In fact,’ he said, ‘I’m terrible, because I don’t follow the rules.’ This new book proves the opposite. On every page it features Lubalin’s typographic genius (logos, layouts, lettering and typefaces), and places him at the forefront of 20th century typographic innovation.”
